Rachael and David, who I believe may be the owners, or at the very least managers (along with their staff), are always friendly, inviting and extremely knowledgeable about animals and what food, or toys may be best for your pet based on your circumstances. They are always inviting and willing to help. I have also found that the pet food products they carry are typically healthier for your pet, more so than you may find at the big chains and box stores. The quality and price points of the pet food are fair and they often times have promotions and discounts. Many of the promotions are buy 12 and get your next one free (ie; bag or case of food etc.). Also, on weekends they have vaccination clinics and sometimes adoption events. They even have a dog wash inside. Check with the store to find out when and how often the Vaccine clinics, pet adoptions and dog wash is available. This place is located in Modesto, in a shopping center that looks like an old western town (corner of Tully and Standiford). Bottom line, I am glad to have found a personable store for all my pets' needs and to be able to help support a local small business.

I drove 45 minutes specifically to find Stella & Chewy's stew, which is the only brand my dogs eat. I was actually really excited at first the store is big and has a great selection. However, almost immediately after walking in, I got the feeling that we were being watched. At first I tried to ignore it, but it quickly became obvious that multiple employees were following us around, pretending to stock shelves while staying close to us the entire time. I've worked in asset protection before, so I can recognize that kind of behavior. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable and anxious, especially since I already deal with social anxiety. At one point I even told my mom I wanted to leave because it felt like they thought we were stealing, but we stayed since we didn't drive that far for nothing. When we finally checked out and were leaving, several employees stood near the entrance just staring at us, which made the situation even worse. I've never felt so judged and unwelcome in a store before. What should have been a positive first visit turned into a stressful and upsetting experience. I won't be coming back and will just continue purchasing elsewhere.

The first died within three days and the second died in less than 24 hours after bringing it home. Concerned about what happened, we took the second bird to a licensed veterinarian, who informed us the bird showed signs of neurological issues and likely had underlying health problems before it was sold. This strongly suggests the birds may have already been sick at the time of sale. Two birds dying this quickly raises serious concerns about the health and welfare of animals being sold. We hope the store takes this situation seriously and reviews their animal health screening and sourcing practices so other families do not go through the same experience.

We've been going through show-lamb feed like mad the last few months and the curbside loading is wonderful. Recently purchased some cat vaccines and each sold for well under $10 each. Feline Rhinotracheitis-Calici-Panleukopenis Vaccines to be precise; "Focus Cat Vax 3". Needed to de-worm and vaccinate as well as she had visible tape worms. Not sure what these worms look like? They look like pieces of white rice and you guessed it; they are located on your cats bottom. Picked up Bayer brand Tape Worm tabs; 3 tabs for $20. Praziquantel tabs to be precise. Do not enjoy either one of these activities as I'd prefer to have my vet take care of these needed tasks however I am on a very restrictive and frugal lifestyle so I'm just grateful I am able to locate these two items at prices that I can afford.
