One night I was craving some fish so I decided to Google online for a local fish market in the area. Randomly came across Modesto Fish in my search feed. Upon reading the reviews I see BBQ oysters. What really sparked me was seeing that it was $45 for five dozen (60 pieces). Like woah that's a pretty good deal! I knew I had to check it out. Being in Modesto I had to drive on the 99 South to get to this location. I did end up taking some back roads and drove on the narrow dirt road to get here. To be honest, I thought I was lost and my map was taking me some random house in the woods!! Haha but nope I came across Modesto Fish, which had several cars in front at a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. I walked inside and see a whole bunch of random food items on shelves with price tags and a few workers on the other side. Went to the front and came across a nice gentleman. He was very nice and showed me the menu of their selected meats and seafood that they sell! Apparently, they get their shipment from all over including the Bay Area and the oysters from Washington!! I ended up getting two boxes (60 each) of BBQ oysters for $50 each. Sad they weren't $45 as previous times but I assume they had to raise for a reason. But wow these oysters were freaking huge and super juicy! I totally forgot to take a picture of them, but trust me when I say they were delicious and worth it. I will totally be coming back here and hopefully try their other items on the menu. read more

This is a hidden gem! If you don't know about it, you would never know it was there. It's a little drive out, but so worth it. Last year for Christmas, I wanted to do crab. I went out to modesto fish Co and grabbed Dungeness and snow crab clusters. I'm a huge seafood lover, so while there, I also grabbed mussels and clams. I made a huge seafood feast! My kiddos chowed down! Prices are really good, too. I've also purchased huge bags of oysters there in the past. If you want seafood and lots of options, this is your place! I recommend going early. Amazing! The variety is like Christmas morning, where do I start? This place is awesome and I love the great service here.

So I was looking for rock fish to make for dinner along with scallops. We happened to find Modesto Fish on the internet. This place is out in the county. It's a large tin building. At first I was Leary of going inside thinking they deal with only commercial accounts. I was wrong. They serve everyone. They have meats, seafood and other cooking items like sauces and aluminum trays. I bought two pounds of frozen scallops at a super cheap price and two pounds of wild cod. They were out of the large scallops. Still the smaller scallops were a decent size. Bigger than a quarter for sure. Not them small dime size scallops you see in a frozen bag. I was worried the scallops were going to be horrible since they're cheap. I get home and began to thaw the fish and scallops. Wow. The scallops had zero fishing smell. Once thawed, I pan seared the scallops and the wild cod with brown butter lemon sauce. AMAZING! I am totally returning to Modesto Fish to fulfill my seafood needs. I will also try their meats and chicken. I can't wait. read more

Found this place from a friend. Friend stated that they sell oysters. Got 2 bags of their BBQ oyster. Huge bag, 5 doz for $45.00. These guys are from Hood Canal, WA. Has strong smell to them. Would recommend bringing a cooler or trashbag to transport home. Mostly hispanic customers. Didn't see a sign of what they carry, but traffic was consistent. There's a sign that says wait here at the the front door due to COVID but if you're hispanic they'll just wave you over to look at stuff. I'm hoping that next time they'll have the other kind of oyster. BBQ oysters are literally intended for bbq. Wouldn't try to eat them raw. read more

Although provided great customer service, the quality of their products is very poor. I called about 4 days before to see what days their oysters would be fresh and they get them two times a week. So I ordered a box, they had worms on them so I really didn't want to eat the other ones. Also, they had pork ribs on sale and we decided to get a rack ... however, they were to be SOLD BY October 2017!!! 5 months later they are selling the product. We came home opened the ribs and they stunk up my whole house . I live in riverbank and their location is quite a away from my house.
