i had heard a lot of bad stuff about this place but decided to give it a try anyway. I dropped off 2 cleaned adult wild pigs,when I got I my meat back I had 50lbs of sausage that I ordered and only 20lbs of meat. i was told both my pigs together only weighted 128lbs so 60lbs each that is insan,128lbs is one of them so idk what happened to the rest of my meat. I was told "it is what it is!" Apparently I'm not the first to have this issue,someone is eating good on my count. Even though I was charged $300 for 2 pigs I got the meat of one lmao. The math isn't mathing. read more

I love their beef jerky and bone marrow bones. They even sell dog bone boxes. (They are huge so make sure you have freezer space.) I always call first to make sure they have what I need. 10/10 recommend they are always so nice and knowledgeable. read more

Sanders Meats is the real deal for game processing and is now my go-to butcher for any wild game I do not intend to process myself. Also, make sure you buy some Sanders Seasoning (it's the best). They have a full menu of meat & process / butcher / package a variety of meats. Excellent jerky, sausage, butchering, all around great service. Our Christmas dinner 2021 was a deer neck roast, which Sanders processed & packaged for me. No surprise I was VERY satisfied & braised the deer neck for 5 hours with Sanders Seasoning. The farm we purchased our beef from used Sanders. I'm pretty disappointed at the outcome to the point that I will probably no longer purchase from the farm if they continue to use Sanders. As others have mentioned, they completely ignored the instructions/specs. I requested full packer brisket and got a flat. I requested slabs of short ribs. They came cut into 3 inch pieces. I requested soup bones, but there were more meat than bones. They charge extra for vacuum seal which I happily paid for, only to have liquid all over my counter during the defrost because the seal failed. The steaks weren't cut uniformly (I honestly have cut more uniformed steaks from whole ribeye roasts). The list goes on and on...and the cost was 2x the cost that was estimated by the farm (I don't know who to blame on that one). I'd love to continue to support family owned businesses but I'm not sure I could do it at the expense of multi-thousands investment in the beef purchase. read more

They stole all of my bacon and in general butchered the job of butchering my pigs. I'm furious. I had a 4 year old 300lb sow and didn't get any large hams or any bacon from her. They did manage to provide me with 75 packages of sausage - I'm sure it was leftover pork and not from my pig. I'm incredibly furious and will not be using them in future. read more

We put a lot of time and love into raising our cows and Sanders put the same amount of time and love into our cuts. The Hawaiian ribs were nice and thin, the ground beef packages are adorable, the steaks, roasts , etc. we're all done to my specs. , and they made my cube steaks and burgers perfect! When you see the butcher paper you know it's going to be good. Traditional wrapping is a lost art and I love the option of having it. We have found our forever place and won't be shopping based on freezer hook openings ever again. This place is worth the wait. read more

Was my first time using this service and have a mixed review. The place is loaded with very friendly people willing to help. However it is also very disorganized. Unless you ask everything about everything, you will get what you get. I asked for hams from the hogs brought in and ended up with ham sliced and small roast. I wanted whole racks of ribs and ended up with small packages of ribs. Not sure I got all of my ribs back as the hogs brought in we're of good size and what I got back looked as if it came off my German Shepard. A lesson learned for next time through. And yes there will be a next time through. The kindness from the staff warrants at least another visit. read more

We have had two hogs and a steer processed at Sanders. Their prices are extremely reasonable, our meat was vacuum sealed and labeled and everything was done in a timely manner. They were able to meet all of our requests as far as thickness of steaks, size of packages of ground beef, etc. They even cut the beef femur bone for our dog's chewing pleasure. We will continue to use and recommend them! read more

I will pass next time, no customer service. I was only given one way to cut and wrap the steer we bought at the fair. I need hamburger out of the roasts, as they do me no good. So the roasts will go to trash can upon pick up. I will happily pay for service as I indicated to them. Besides that this is all wrapped old school with paper, I have not seen that in 15 years everything is now vaccum packed. So the future holds a lot of freezer burn and dried out meat. read more

This processor literally butchered our cow. The cuts are incredibly thin. They wrapped multiple steaks as one package. Soup bones look like roasts. Completely disappointed in how they did things. They did not give us many options with cuts and packaging. Will NOT be using this processor ever again. read more

I bought a side of beef from a local rancher who sent it to Sanders for butchering. I talked at length on the phone with their rep to specify exactly how I wanted it butchered - minimal ageing, no more than 7 days, and leave as much fat on the cuts as possible. I felt reassured they would honor my requests. After 7 days, I began calling them about my order, asking if it was ready to pick up. They said they were backlogged and it wasn't ready yet. Finally, 16 days after they received the beef, they called me to say it was ready. They had aged it for over 2 weeks. When I brought my beef home, I noticed that the steaks and roasts were all trimmed very lean, even though I had asked for fatty cuts. The beef tastes overly aged to the point of some cuts being inedible, having a putrid smell to them. I go through a lot of trouble (and money!) to purchase locally raised beef from our ranchers. This was a perfectly good side of beef that didn't need to be aged, but they went ahead and did it anyway, completely ignoring my requests. I now have a freezer full of very lean steaks and roasts that are tough and smelly. What a friggin' waste! Most of it will be ground up and used for pet food. Expensive pet food. read more

Had 2 cows butchered and packed at Sanders meat. 1st time using Sanders to wrap meat and will be the last time. Been having cows butchered and wrapped for 25+ years and have never seen such laziness in a butcher shop. 1st they wrapped everything in paper. I go to pick up meat and see paper wrap. I ask what is this, the stone ages? Who still wraps in paper?! Why wasn't my meat vacuum packed like all the other meat I've had packed at 3-4 other butchers? They tell me they'll re-wrap at no cost. So I come back a few days later and pick up vacuum packed meat. They simply put the paper wrapped meat into vacuum bags and sealed. Lol. Now when meat thaws, I'm left with soggy, bloody, disintegrating paper inside the vacuum packed meat. Worse yet, no weight marked on any of the labels. How hard is it to add weight to each package so I know how much is in each package. Makes it hard to prep meals when you have to guess how much meat is in the pack. I will be going elsewhere for next years cattle packing. read more

Very, very disappointed and dissatisfied in the cut & wrapping of my 3 harvested lambs this year!! The cutters did not follow the cutting sheet and the meat smells like it's is on the verge of spoiling when just defrosted!! I will not be going back!! Never knew this place existed until I ate their pork belly and linguica at a festa. Both are excellent if cooked correctly. They carry a large variety of cuts from various animals as well as other Portuguese specialties like vinho d'alhos (marinated pork). Won't look like there's a store for the public but keep walking in and you'll see an office. Very friendly and very helpful staff. I will definitely be returning. read more
