I went for a an ear cartilage (helix) piercing and they used a piercing gun. It's common knowledge that guns are unsafe to use to pierce anything- especially the helix- piercing guns can shatter the cartilage, expose ears to blunt force trauma, and cannot always be sterilized by an autoclave- exposing the ear to infection and disease transmission. Additionally, my piercer at Visual Difference instructed me to clean my piercing with alcohol. Every professional body piercer I've ever gone to (I have two other cartilage piercings and a small nostril piercing) has instructed me to clean it with saline solution, as alcohol is too harsh on a fresh piercing. Whoever was doing the piercing at Visual Difference (I don't remember her name) was clearly not a professional body piercer, and her lack of knowledge was frightening. Do yourselves a favor and go to a professional.

Unfortunately, I said yes, and I was really disappointed. The wash felt rushed, and my long hair was blow-dried in about 20 minutes. The ends were left straight, and even after I asked for them to be curled inward, the final result still looked unfinished, like I had done it myself. This was for my graduation, and the photo was taken right after leaving the salon. Definitely the worst blowout I've ever gotten.
