I arrive and wait outside as the shop is too small to allow more than one person in at a time. No big. I like to think I'm a patient person. But when I walk in to talk to the owner about my shoe and purse repair, things get bad real quick. He quickly informs me that he doesn't have the color of my shoes to repair the heel tip in the same color. I tell him that's ok, I can work with brown. He says "what else?" I show him the zipper on my purse and he says it can't be fixed. There's no screw for him to fix it and if he has to fix it, it can cost close to $100. Oh, and by the way no one else can fix it either. It's apparently unfixable! Wow. I walk out with my shoes and purse never to return again.

Sam is honest. Just today I saw him advise a woman not to get a particular pair of shoes repaired, because they were just too far gone. He could have easily taken her money, but did not. This is exactly the kind of local business you should be reporting. He has been there since forever, and is not going anywhere. Go pay him a visit, and I think you will be very pleased. You'll get more than you bargained for. Which reminds me, it is a bargain.
