BEWARE !! warning people.. Do not take your children or go to this orthodontist. He is extremely horrible. He did so much damage to my teeth that it cost me $40,000 to fix. He was my orthodontist and he pushed my teeth up and back, then he grinded my lower teeth. When I smile, it looks like I have no teeth. This orthodontist has many complaints about him to the dental board. He may seem calm when you meet him but he is an extreme hot head. Please do your research before you take your child or do your dental work here. He will take your money and he will run and justify it by making up lies. When the day came to have my braces removed he removed only a partial portion of the braces and left me with brackets still stuck behind my lower teeth in the front. When I went to his office to have them removed his secretary met me in the hall and told me that Mr yazdi prohibits me from going into the office and refuses to do any more work on my teeth. Overall, pleasant and hard-working support staff, but a business owner and doctor that's visibly jaded as he nears the end of his career. His blatant and shocking lack of decorum reduce him to a stain on his profession. Full experience: My first interaction with Dr. Yazdi and his staff was pleasant enough - though the office is visibly aged and run down, the prices were highly competitive, and Dr. Yazdi supposedly has a PhD, so I decided to give it a shot. I also wasn't too picky about orthodontist selection since I was just looking to have a new retainer made. The process of getting an impression and retainer made was rather ordinary; the only thing that stands out was that Dr. Yazdi maligned Invisalign as having poor business practices for having said some poorly fitted kits were the doctor's fault. I thought nothing of this, but later discovered that this was a foreshadowing of future difficulties. After wearing my new retainer for a week, I noticed a persistent level of soreness in my back teeth inconsistent with a properly fitted retainer. I called to make an appointment to get this checked out, and on the phone his assistant mentioned we could make a new appointment to get a new retainer made. Fair enough. And so the nightmare began. I came back to the office, and was seen by his assistant, who mentioned that Dr. Yazdi had advised that she cut off the back teeth of the retainer (what?!) to solve this problem. Confused both about how this would help, and how it could be considered a good solution, I asked to speak with Dr. Yazdi. Upon hearing my explanation of the problem, Dr. Yazdi forcefully declared "your pain is not the retainer's problem. This is a retainer. It cannot cause pain." I attempted to help him see reasoning - "When I don't wear this retainer, I don't have pain. When I wear this retainer, I do have pain" - certain that someone with advanced education could make some simple logical conclusions. He continued to insist, "A retainer doesn't cause pain. it is impossible! If you are experiencing pain, it is not the retainer's fault." When I pressed him on how this made any sense, he showed his complete lack of adherence both to the Hippocratic Oath and to mere decency by saying, "go, just get your money back and give back the retainer. Bye bye" All in all, if this doctor is in your consideration set, I would advise you think again. If you're the type of person to not stand up for yourself and accept whatever is told to you, you will be taken advantage of, and given subpar medical treatment. Please learn from my mistakes and see at least 3 other orthodontists for opinions and consider your choice carefully before deciding to use this man for an orthodontist as you will end up making an expensive mistake. Unfortunately, I had to learn that the hard way after losing thousands of dollars to Dr. Yazdi. Please read the other 1 star reviews and the unrecommended (hidden) reviews as as well before spending your money here. My dentist had originally recommended me to Dr. Yazdi but during the time I was saving money for my down payment, unbeknownst to me my dentist had stopped recommending patients to Dr. Yazdi due to inappropriate and unprofessional treatment of patients and inferior orthodontic work. The following happened over the course of my treatment at Dr. Yazdi's office. 1. Dr. Yazdi allowed his orthodontic assistant to perform procedures on me when he was not in the office. 2. Dr. Yazdi and his staff did not keep accurate records on my treatments and still have not been able to produce copies of my dental records to me, nor my new orthodontist despite repeated requests from me, then an attorney and then finally the state dental board as well as OSHA. HIPPA law states the records need to be transferred within 30 days. It has been a year and I still do not have my dental records 3. Dr. Yazdi would tell his assistant to do one thing to my teeth, then she would in turn do something different after telling him he was wrong in which he would agree to do what she suggested. She knew more about what was happening with the patients in the office since she was the one working on us when Dr. was hiding in his office on his computer. 4. Office staff lost my payments on at least 2 separate occasions. 5. Dr Yazdi said my braces were ready to be taken off. I showed up on the day of my appointment in the morning as scheduled and Dr. Yazdi was not there. His assistant began to take of my braces when I noticed there were still spaces in my teeth. The office had already told me to make a dentist appointment that day so my teeth could be cleaned after the braces came off. We left the brackets on I went to my dentist and my dentist pointed out additinal gaps in my teeth that needed to be closed otherwise my bite would be off and I would get food stuck in my teeth and get cavities. When Dr. Yazdi finally came into the office about 3 hours later he became angry at my dentist and me for pointing out his mistakes. He blamed his office staff for not telling him what his schedule was for the day. The fact that he supposedly did not check his schedule for his own orthodontic practice and his assistant was perfectly happy to proceed in taking off my braces without him present, before I stopped her due to the space I saw on my front right tooth, indicates this is a regular occurrence not an isolated incident. T 6. Dr. Yazdi and his staff never took X-rays before my braces went on nor before they were scheduled to come off. He and his office then had the audacity to ask my new orthodontist, for her copy of my x-rays that she took. 7. I tried to work things out with Dr. Yazdi when I told him my teeth were still not ready the second time he wanted to take them off since my bite and my arch was still off. I had consulted with other orthodontist who recommended I try to work things out with Dr. Yazdi as changing orthodontists would be expensive. I tried to do that but Dr. Yazdi refused to work things out nor listen to anyone else's opinion but his own. 8. I had to pay out of pocket to have another orthodontist finish my orthodontic work as Dr. Yazdi refused to finish my treatment. What was supposed to be 18 months turned into 30 months in braces since I had to switch orthodontist. 9. Dr. Yazdi refused to come to any sort of financial agreement to compensate my for the additional few thousand dollars I had to pay out to go to a new orthodontist to correct his work. 10. Dr. Yasdi has other complaints filed against him with the state which I found out after I changed orthodontist. The complaints are consistent with the reason my dentist stopped referring his patients to him. Please learn from my mistake and do not spend your money with this orthodontist as you will have to spend even more money with another orthodontist to fix his work. Don't mistake his smiling face and friendly demeanor for caring and good orthodontic care. He will turn on you and talk down to you when you disagree with him. I am so glad I changed orthodontists. My new orthodontist is really professional, took care of me and knew exactly what was happening to with my teeth and how far I had progressed every time I came into her office. She never had to have her staff fill her in on me because she always knew what was happening with since she was not hiding in her office on her computer. She really worked with me to fix Dr. Yazdi's mistakes and thanks to her and an additional year in treatment I now have a beautiful smile. read more

Dr Yazdi was very helpful throughout the whole process. He recommend me to a dentist to pull few teethes with dr Jadian and a surgeon at kaiser for the jaw surgery. The full process took about 3 years and it was worth it the wait. I was a customer at Dr. Yazdi's West Hills office back in (probably) 2006. I saw him for about 2 years in which we did a jaw expander and braces. Afterward we put in a permanent bottom retainer. The whole experience was great. He was professional and so was his staff. Fast forward and things have changed. I recently called him because my lower permanent retainer came lose and cut my tongue until it was bleeding. His receptionist (who seriously could have been his wife or daughter) told me that she didn't have the west hills book and she would call me back. So I asked to go to this west la location and she didn't have the books. She said she would call me back tomorrow. I waited a week and never got a call back. I really hopes he can get his staff or receptionist back on track. He was a great ortho but his receptionist made it impossible for me to get in. read more

I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Yazdi. He literally changed my life for the best. Not only was he my orthodontist, but I consider him a friend whom I recommend without any reservations. I started seeing Dr. Yazdi when I was in my mid-twenties per the recommendation of a friend. I always had a "horrible" smile which made me feel very self conscious. Not only did I hate smiling, but the way my teeth were positioned didn't allow me to bite correctly thus causing the teeth to wear improperly. Basically, I had too many teeth for my mouth. To this day, I still can't believe how much my smile changed thanks to Dr. Yazdi. Unlike ALL of the other orthodontists I had interviewed who wanted to take out four of my teeth right away, to make it easier, Dr. Yazdi had another less invasive strategy. He took his time to gently work with the space I had in the hopes of preserving my teeth. Ultimately, we had to remove just ONE tooth, but this was years later once all other options had already been explored. He really is an artist who cares about his patients, and is sensitive to their needs. I remember being embarrassed about getting married in my braces. We had started out with what he jokingly called "movie star braces" (clear brackets), which we eventually changed out for traditional braces (metal brackets) as my treatment progressed and I needed more "muscle." As a soon-to-be bride, I was horrified about the idea of sporting all that metal in my wedding pictures. Again, Dr. Yazdi, being the caring and sensitive professional that he is took the time to REMOVE all my braces for my wedding... at no additional cost. He knew how important it was for me to feel comfortable on my special day. He cared about my happiness. The braces eventually went back on after two weeks, but Dr. Yazdi had given me the best wedding gift ever. He gave me two glorious weeks of freedom to smile brightly, brace-free, as I started my new life with my husband. Thank you, Dr. Yazdi! Came here last month to get fitted for my Invisalign because they were running such a great promotion online. I was a bit hesitant at first because the deal was extremely good. I called and asked about 20 questions to just to make sure it wasn't a scam or something. The front desk was happy to answer all my questions, I felt kind bad asking so many questions. But anyways after speaking with the front desk girl I figured what the heck let's give it a shot. Dr. Yazdi was very nice and kept exactly to the promo price he originally advertised. He didn't try to upsell me on anything different than what he promised. The office is very nicely designed. Looks like he has a professional come in and design everything. It's a bit small in there but the way they put it together it works for that space. He knew of my insecurities of crooked teeth, but more than that my bigger insecurity was my smile with or without straight teeth after braces. Avoid Dr. Yazdi. He does not deserve his title as an MD. Upon graduating medical school, all doctors swear an oath to never turn down a patient due to financial reasons. He has violated his sworn oath by leaving me untreated for 4 months due to "errors made by his billing staff." Instead of letting me know that he has not received payment, he cowardly called me into his office every month just to say everything is good and conduct no actual treatment. By the way, the most heard statement made by doctor Yazdi is, "everything is good." He may seem like a confident, charismatic doctor whose ultimate goal is your well-being, but this is all deception. He is rude and very unprofessional. If you have questions which need to be answered over the phone, he will put you on hold and never respond back. We asked him simple questions on 2 occasions to which he rudely replied that we were calling past his office hours and directly hung up, BOTH TIMES. That is not what a good doctor does because he is NOT a good doctor. He is a businessman, but not a sincere medical professional. His main priority is filling his pockets with your money. His office hours are terrible, 2 days a week in each office and he himself is at the office late past noon. So not the best choice if you are a student. He rarely does anything himself. Most of the times I have been there, his nurse Tenny is doing all of the work, who is the only good thing to come out of that office. Without her, I don't know if Yazdi will have an efficient business. Complications arose after my braces, which I don't blame him for. So I cannot honestly tell if he did a good job or not. I had a complicated situation to begin with, and there is no significant difference. Only wasted time and money, but that is on my end. My treatment is about to end soon. When I asked him when can I take my braces off, he replied, "whenever you want." So apparently, I became the doctor at that point. Pathetic. Bottom line is that Dr. Yazdi is a mediocre doctor and an unpleasant human being. If you have a simple operation, avoid Yazdi. If you are stuck with him all I have to say is watch your medical bills, be persistent, and be prepared to be sugar coated to think you are making excellent progress. read more

I am about to be finished with my invisible correcting aligners and I cannot emphasize how amazing my teeth have turned out! Dr. Moe Yazdi and his staff are great at what they do and thanks to their excellent assistance and care, this experience has been nothing but positive. With the instructions provided as well as with regular check up appointments, this entire process has been really simple. All you really do is wear new aligners every three weeks or so and pretty much just let time do the rest. I had never liked my teeth before but as cheesy as it sounds, I am now so proud to show off my new smile. It feels nice having others compliment me on my smile and for that reason if anyone is thinking of getting their teeth fixed like I did, I would most definitely recommend Dr. Yazdi. He has two offices in West Los Angeles and West Hills which makes it really convenient whether you live in L.A. or the valley. Right before I signed my contract, I looked at yelp. I saw that he had a couple of bad reviews. I said "Braces are to help your teeth, what can go wrong..." So I signed it... Well from beginning to end was a total nightmare. He did not tell me I would have a palatal expander when we were talking. I had no idea what the lady inside was putting in my mouth. I didn't even know what it was for. I went in his little room where he spends talking to his friends and he told me "it's to expand your palate..." OK? I guess. I was told I would have braces on my bottom teeth after one or two months. After about 5 months I started to complain, and after I complained the bottom braces were magically on me. I wonder why... That's not my main complaint however... I was to get my tooth exposed. I didn't know the name "exposure" nor did he tell me. He just told me "Go get that surgery." He didn't know the name of it. He sent me to a dentist NOT AN ORAL SURGEON to get it done. The dentist even told me "He has no idea what he's doing. You don't even need the expander." I went back to Yazdi telling him what the dentist he sent me to told me. That he doesn't do the surgery and I need someone that is specilized in oral surgery. "Dr." Yazdi just gave me a look for 10 seconds straight thinking of what to say and then he says "Go get it done. I have 20 years experience." Ok where do I get it done? He just called another of his dentist friends. They didn't do it either. I told him, yet he didn't care. I told him I just wanted straight teeth. He told me "what's the benefit?" well isn't that his job...??? He told me "the only reason you're not doing it is money." I told him, no, I am being told I don't need it and I don't even know where to get it done. He just kept saying "Its the money." He kept saying that because that all HE cared about. WORST PART: I asked him when I would take out the expander. He already knew I didn't want the surgery. He told me "When your bottom teeth straighten" What does an expander on top have to do with my bottom teeth? He DID NOT TELL ME that the expander was to make a gap for my canine tooth so that when I get the surgery the adult tooth would fit in. THAT was the ONLY reason I had it on. BUT HE DIDN'T TELL ME! Ok I have this big gap and then his big lie comes up :"We're going to close the gap" For 1 year, I had a chain on the top. Sometimes, he would take the chain off, and then the gap would get bigger, then he would put it back on. This went on and on. The only reason he told me I was done was that one day I told him "My contract date is over, when will my braces be off?" Then somehow magically I was about done. I told him I wasn't happy. (Worst mistake) He actually made my teeth look worst. He made the gap bigger. I asked him wasn't my gap smaller before he said "yes." then he told me to get bonding. If I were to get bonding why did I have to go through a year of trying to "close the gap" Easy. He wanted the $$$. For me, what I'm angry about is not much about the money, but the pain I had to go through just because he wanted $$$. I got the bonding done, and my plastic retainer. Guess when my metal retainer came in? 3 and a half months. The lady that does ALL the work told me 10 days. -___- The metal retainer gave me a gap in my front teeth. He tightened it a couple times but it didn't do anything. Last time I saw him, I went to get it tightened again then he goes off saying "you're bonding looks good." ok? that's not the problem. It's the gap in the front teeth. I was and am so tired of this guy I just said ok and left. He didn't care about the gap. Also, He didn't tell me I could wear the retainer just at night. I had to ASK him. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known. his explanation for wearing it less was "your teeth are good". He asked me "Are they good?" that's how he knew my teeth are good. How professional..... (sarcasm) (I still have a gap in my front teeth!) Other problems: He didn't know that he made me wear rubber bands. I wore them for months and he then said "What? You don't need them" -___- In the plan he told me he would straighten my top back second molar, but after the 2 years were up he couldn't. I've asked him if he would straighten it during the process and would just nod his head. Then he ended up saying that I have to get it removed. Then why lie to me? In case you didn't know, he had to close his West Hills office because of how horrible he is. The problem is that he doesn't care about his patients. He just makes sure if they are paying. That's it. My end product: I have bonding for the gap he gave me, and I have a gap in my front teeth that people ALWAYS point out. People ask me "why doesn't your orthodontist fix that?" I shrug. This has made me very depressed. I went to a different orthodontist and he told me that he's gotten so many unhappy patients from Yazdi, that it is such a good thing that he left this area (Now Yazdi's in LA, good luck to people living there). read more

My wife and I took our son into Dr. Moe's office a few months ago for braces. He was very helpful and answered all the questions we had. The office was very clean and staff was very friendly. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for an orthodontist for their children. read more

I have been going to Dr. Yazdi since 2007. My mouth had alot of issues. Dr. Yazdi did an excellent job taking care of teeth and getting them aligned and straightened. Thanks to Dr. Yazdi and his staff I have a great smile and my mouth is in excellent shape. From 2007 to 2014, I would visit Dr. Yazdi each month. Now I just go every six months for my checkup. Terrible orthodontist. Just ABSOLUTELY terrible. Dr. Yazdi is NEVER at his office. He is either on a vacation 10 months out of the year, or just doesn't bother to show up. He disappoints me in MANY MANY ways. He seems like he knows everything but he really doesn't. I was very indecisive with his job of my smile and I went to various other dentists and orthodontists and they said that everything Dr. Yazdi said was wrong. I have seen MUCH MUCH better orthodontists that do their job and best of all COME TO WORK!! Come here if you just want someone who doesn't even care how your teeth will end up looking. During the most crucial times, he wasn't there. I was leaving for college in Boston for a year and he wasn't there to check how my teeth are doing. Trust me DO NOT come here. I regret every penny I spent on this treatment and can't wait to just leave. They don't even deserve this 1 star. Its clearly a negative. The staff was so-and-so nice but I never really got to know Dr. Yazdi since he is GONE MOST OF THE TIME!!! Believe me take your money and go find another orthodontist. Absolute nightmare. We called Yazdi's office on 12/15/13 and again on 12/16/13 to schedule an appointment to replace a damaged retainer. Although my son was seen by Yazdi's office on 1/18/14 (the earliest they could see him), there was NO removal of any appliance. We brought in his damaged retainer to show Yazdi and see if it could be repaired. Instead, he took molds of his teeth and assured us we would have the new retainer in about 10 days. After a month we began calling the office once or twice a week to find out where the retainer was. After being told each time "we'll check and call you back" which never happened, we were told the retainer had been lost. We went in again on 2/15/14 for another mold to be taken. Again, we were told we would receive a call within 10 days to schedule a time to pick up the new retainer. I have called Yazdi's West Hills and Beverly Hills office twice a week for the past two weeks. At one point, just last week, someone in the Beverly Hills office said they had the retainer and just needed to take it to the West Hills office and schedule an appointment for a fitting. I asked to schedule an appointment while we were on the phone but the woman said she couldn't do it until she saw the calendar in the West Hills office. We received no return call and when I called the West Hills office again this week I was told they had no retainer in yet in either office and would call me back when it arrived. It is now 3/14/14 and my son's teeth are starting to move as he has been without a retainer since December last year. When he first had his braces off we were told by the billing specialist at the front counter that the retainer replacement would be FREE for the first replacement. I have no idea why we have a bill for a new retainer since this is the first retainer replacement that we were told was already included in the price of the braces and first retainer. And we still have no retainer, just a bill for one! In addition, another bill for the retainer was sent to our insurance company. My husband called Yazdi's office yesterday and told him we would be looking for a new orthodontist and to cancel the retainer that has clearly never been made. We will now be looking for a new orthodontist to make the retainer for my son as his teeth have now shifted thanks to the neglect of his former orthodontist. read more

Who cares of smiles. What i care is what is in my pocket meaning my money. Dr. Yazdi stoles money little by little. However, he charged my braces five thousand dollars with fifty hundred dollars. Eventually time was passing and he would just look at my teeth and left me in the chair without any results. Finally my mom payed him every single money she owed him. Will here I start he wanted to charge us more and more so in total my braces didn't cost the same amount now out of a sudden we owed him seven thousand dollars more. My mom said what . ''I paid Dr.Yazdi every dime and now out of a sudden I owe him seven thousand dollars more.'' My mom paid him again finally the treatment not because he told us because we had to lie to him that we were moving to another state. In fact he wanted to charge us 500 with my upper retainers. And later charge us another 500 with my lower retainers. I am very disappointed with this Dr.Yazdi he stoles us allot of money because of his lies. Whoever wants to get braces I recommend you not to get them with him because he will steal money little by little. Especially to mothers and fathers the ones who he likes to steal from. The amount that Dr.Yazdi charged my mom for my braces are 13500. That is allot just for a stupid over bit. Once again I recommend you not to go and get your braces there. Or if you don't believe me or listen to me at least read the contract carefully the contract will not include the retainer.
