I'm a math teacher at Culver City Middle School, and to all students or families in the area, I'm telling you to stay away. Do Not Come Here. If you don't want your insurance to be over billed and illegally charged, don't go here. The other 1 star reviews on Yelp are for the same reason. This is a clear pattern with this office. Look at the attached pics for the entire story. Before I go into my review, if I could give two ratings I would. 1.) the cleaning service for my teeth was good. Most of the people were nice. I'd give that part 4 stars. 2.) the second review and major review overall is for the misleading communication and billing department. Hence my 1 star overall review, because this place is dishonest and will take advantage of you. Long story (that you can see In photos) summarized... 1.) I'm out $1,000 that I can't use for braces elsewhere because they lied lol if I get my money back by filing a grievance with my insurance, I'll be charged $1,200 for a retainer out of pocket. Which I could refuse to pay and then I'm sure they'll send me to collections. 2.) they're committing insurance Fraud because they billed my insurance for comprehensive orthodontic treatment (which never happened and is not happening) 3) misleading, dishonest, and no integrity when it comes to billing for services. By far the best dental experience I have ever had, THIS SIDE OF THE BORDER. All of my dental work growing up was either done in Mexico, or through my mothers insurance, Cigna. When we lost insurance as a family when I was younger, taking care of my teeth and having the means to do so, became the biggest obstacle. I struggle and battle chronic depression on a regular basis. I needed an extraction, as well as braces. I've been wanting braces to correct my smile FOR YEARS. I came in with a friend today who is a current patient. I spoke with Eze, and Dr. Moradi about my teeth, my goals with my smile, and my realistic financial means. Are you going to fix your teeth for free? This place is only concerned about the money! Stay away. They misdiagnose on purpose in order to over charge you and will send astronomical bills to your insurance. BEWARE. I got two other opinions and they said my teeth were great and needed nothing, not even the deep cleaning this quack job said I needed to charge me an extra $100. SHADY BILLING PRACTICES I think the staff and everyone working here are very nice and helpful. But, I don't like the business practices of this office. Two things I would highlight: 1. PUSHY SALESMEN - The doctors are very pushy salesmen, and try to get you to do unnecessary expensive procedures, especially if you have good insurance. The biggest evidence of this - I once went to the doctor's office with my wife. She was sitting outside, waiting for me. The doctor saw that I was there with my wife and called her inside (even though she had no intention to get any treatment), got her to sit on a chair, and pushed her to get retainers. Before she could even think about it, there was a cast in her mouth to take measurements of her mouth. This is just one of the many instances when the practice tried to upsell us to get expensive treatments. Once you are on that chair you feel very vulnerable and I feel that the practice took advantage of our vulnerability. 2. SHADY BILLING - My wife only visited this office once and got retainers. That procedure cost me $6,000 in insurance claims and took away a lifelong budget for ortho treatment. Firstly, I can never imagine an Invisalign costing $6,000, even if I'm not paying for it directly. Secondly, initially, while filing the claim to the insurance they had mentioned that my wife got braces. Which she didn't! With $6,000 we could have traveled to India in business class and had gotten a similar treatment by a highly qualified doctor. read more

Sadly, as nice as Dr. Moradi is, his billing department overcharged us for a retainer for my son. They told me they would not remove his braces until I paid $3000+ for a permanent retainer. He was starting school the following day and was desperate to have his braces removed for his senior year. I called 4 other orthodontists in Beverly Hills and Manhattan Beach to see what they would charge for the same retainer. EVERY single one of them quoted me $300-500. When I brought this up with Dr. Moradi personally, he said he would refund some of the money. That was 2 years ago and I haven't seen a penny. I reached out multiple times to no avail. If you look at my other Yelp reviews, I do not write bad reviews for ANY business as I am a business owner myself. However, I have given them every opportunity to make good on their promise for a refund and felt I owed it to others to warn them of their horrible business practices. Dr Moradi is very expert I have seen. some other places told they will take out left and right teeth to make space to pull in the front teeth .But Doctor Moradi correct the alignment with his expertise not to extraction my daughter's teeth . now my daughter have beautiful smile, my other and my son feel very happy all of them done with the braces. I met Dr. Moradi almost 2 years ago when I wanted a third opinion on possibly starting braces. He was the only Doctor who had enough patience, empathy and experience to gain my trust. My monthly visits were always a pleasure and the staff has always been welcoming and honest with me. I was so pleased with my ortho treatment and the way I was treated that I decided to transfer my general dental care with him also. Unlike some of the other orthodontists I researched, Dr. Moradi is board certified. He is careful and artful - the Picasso of dentistry. I am so so happy with my results. His staff is super nice. They give each patient the attention they need. I can't believe it, but they remember EACH patient's name. It's a nice and genuine gesture. I am updating my 5 star review to 3 because the final 2 visits were not a good closure to our years with Dr. Moradi. When my daughter took off her braces she stated that she was not content with her 2 front upper teeth. We were reassured that the retainers would help. It's been a year and her teeth are still the same. Dr. Moradi let's His front office deal with remeding things by trying to sell. They offered a $1,000 retainer that I refused. Their answer call us if you change your mind. I don't think we need to pay that amount to get her teeth fixed. We already paid for the braces. I am very disappointed with the front staff in handling scheduling because you can wait up to an hour before you are seen. We stopped going to see Dr. Moradi as a whole family however Dr.Moradi's office continues to bill my insurance for the past year for my child orthodontics work every 3 month. I scheduled a dental cleaning at this practice on the recommendation of a friend, as I am new to the area and needed a dentist. Prior to my appt, they called and asked for my insurance information. When I called back to provide this info, the woman who answered acted as if she had NO idea what I was talking about and that she had never done such a thing before. I gave her my information, and she assured me they would confirm my coverage prior to my appt. I go in for the cleaning and am told I have two cavities that need filling but they have to call my insurance to confirm that it will cover them. Shouldn't that have been done already? Then I am told that confirmation cannot be done that day, as my insurance is already closed, but I am assured multiple times that they will call my insurance and let me know, and then we could schedule a follow-up. I never heard back from them. My friend who recommended the practice is a regular customer, and asked one of the employees there what happened. That employee investigated, and then called my friend to tell him that my insurance doesn't cover fillings BUT NEVER CALLED ME. I work in healthcare and am fairly certain this is a privacy violation. Sure, I could have called and followed up, but honestly I don't want any more encounters with this practice. The doctor was short and did a terrible job explaining to me what was going on with my teeth, and the hygienist (who complained that he was bored because he had not had any other work to do that day) gave me such a deep cleaning that my mouth hurt for a least a week (I have never experienced this before). Use caution when dealing with this office....they are very shady. This office tried to charge me for two sets of Phase 2 braces on my daughter. We paid for one set in which they did not complete the job of correcting her teeth. The reasoning that the billing person, Easy, tried to sell me is that we stopped coming in for treatment, completely ignoring the fact that the world was in a deadly pandemic and that they had already been paid to do this work. Because of this, his claim is that they are not bound to finish the job that was started and wanted to charge for a new set of Phase 2 braces. His rationale is that the braces have been on for 24 months so we should pay extra for every month thereafter. I've never heard of such a thing but he claims that he does it to all of Dr. Moradi's patients so be careful! Dr Moradi is cool but also aware and responsible for the billing practices that his management uses with his patients, so I'm not buying the "nice guy" role that he tries to pull off. From my perspective, if you're not skilled enough to complete the job within that amount of time, that's not my fault. It's also not my fault if a pandemic broke out and shut down the world, including your office, during the treatment period. After I pointed that out then he tried to mention a few missed appointments as the reason that he wanted to charge us for a new set, like I'm dumb enough to believe that patients don't miss appointments from time to time and that's a valid reason to double charge them. Clearly this is not only horrific customer service but shady business dealing as well and now I have to find an orthodontist with integrity and pay them full price to finish the job that I've already paid Dr. Moradi to do. I'm accustomed to professionals taking pride in their work, he is seemingly unbothered to send his patient out into the world with an incomplete and subpar job. That's important information to keep in mind when you're considering the type of professional that you want doing your dental work. I couldn't control the pandemic anymore than he could and as a patient my daughter shouldn't be penalized for something that we all had to face together. I know that businesses lost money having to shut down and deal with the pandemic but you certainly won't be overcharging me to recoup what you've lost and their other patients should beware of that as well. When a patient pays for a treatment, they should receive that treatment. We paid for something that we did not receive from this office. They did half of the job for full price. I feel like this is fraud so I'll also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Dental Board. As you can see with the reviews left on the numerous Yelp pages that they keep creating to dodge accountability, they have a history of unethical behavior when it comes to billing. I urge those who have experienced this to report them not only to Yelp but to that other agencies I've mentioned as well...eventually they'll be investigated for fraud and held responsible. California also has the Insurance Fraud Prevention Act which offers "Whistleblower Rewards" for reporting insurance fraud. read more

I just moved to the area and my retainer broke. Since my orthodontist is in Chicago, I came in to see if they could help me at this office. They were very accommodating and actually saw me the same day. When I mentioned that my insurance didn't cover a new retainer, Dr. Moradi told me not to worry about it that his billing people had ways of making things work. After taking my insurance information, one of his billing associates came in and confirmed that I wasn't covered. However, they said that if I consented they would bill for other services to cover the cost of my retainer--which would be insurance fraud. I mentioned that and he shrugged his shoulders at me but told me that was my option if I wanted a new retainer. I quickly walked out, but I am completely appalled. Service is good they still speak other languages while doing major work right in your face, and I feel as if I am being talked about if its that important then they should wait until the work is done there is a doctor there that does it and in doing so they are laughing to around me its not professional at all. Dr. Moradi is AMAZING!!! Not only is he an awesome Dr but he's a really good person with a great heart. I've been he patient for about 1.5 years and and loving my smile. I also get my teeth cleaned when it's time and it's so cool to be able to do all this at the same time. The office is new and huge! Dr. Moradi did my sisters braces and she's extremely happy with the results so far. I've known him since he was in dental school and it's been awesome watching him put in the hard work and dedication that it requires to make it this far. David and his staff are awesome! My daughter has been coming here for over a year and has been using a retainer that she wears at night. She now has a beautiful smile. I just started treatment with Dr. Moradi and I can't tell you how happy I am with him and his staff. I walked in and I was amazed with all the beautiful artwork that fills the office. His staff from front office and and back office are SO nice. Everyone walks by and says hi to you... even if you're not working with them. This assistant walked by me while going to assist another patient and walked back to me and said hello, thank you for coming today! like HELLO who does that?! It was really stressful when my dentist told me I needed braces, but I instantly felt at ease when I started under the care of David Moradi and his staff. Please do your research before coming here. This office is very shady and honestly feels they are just after peoples money or try to scam them for it. I have had multiple issues with them regarding payments where they have over charged us and they want to act like they have no clue and we had to constantly argue about getting a refund. We been coming for close to 3 years and no improvement just good at taking your money. The staff is very rude and only nice to you when they want to. Especially if it has to do with money they will be rude and so unprofessional. Dr. Moradi is very nice but wouldn't recommend this place. I know they have had legal problems with previous employers over how they run the business and again very shady. Front desk staff needs a refresher on how to speak to customers in person and over the phone.
