Food was cold, put almost no chicken in my burrito. Customer service was decent but the floor was sticky and was a bad experience

I ordered a burrito with shrimp, octopus, a whole poblano, avocado, shredded cheese all inside the burrito. I also asked for a lot of limes on the side. They came out after we took our order to go so he could check on it because he asked me numerous times about the cheese I wanted. I had said I do not want anything on top of my burrito and hate the liquid cheese. The person who made my burrito used the liquid cheese, similar to nacho cheese consistency on top. No shredded cheese inside. So they didn't give my bf his cheese sauce he paid for. My burrito was nasty. They didn't put a whole poblano, the first half of the burrito had a few small pieces of poblano, barely any octopus, no shredded cheese inside, they didn't give me any limes. I HATE this crap cheese sauce that "mexican" food places use in Tennessee. Legit Mexican food places don't use this fake liquid cheese. My bf said his nachos were good. Problem is.. I was on the toilet all night because of this cheese. I say this because it was the same cheese they put on his nachos and... he was sick to his stomach for the rest of the night and then he had his turn on the toilet.

As we wend our way to Florida, we spend the night in Bristol for one main reason. This restaurant!…read more (The Hilton Garden Inn hits all the marks too, but as I have nothing to add I'm not updating that review.) My husband ordered five enchiladas each with a different stuffing. While delicious, unless you haven't eaten since last Thursday, who can consume so many enchiladas?! I shouldn't talk. The house special quesadilla -- always excellent -- is a lot of food. Ever resourceful, I took half back, put the chicken and peppers on a bagel and ate it for breakfast! (Note to self AND my husband: next time let's split one and maybe forego the steak and chicken. Chorizo and shrimp?!) Moving on, the salsa bar is great with smooth, chunky, mild and spicy salsas. That's not counting the warm bean spread brought to the table with their thin and crisp chips. Our margaritas -- $6 each -- are not only good but pretty, topped with berries and a flower. Here it is, Monday night -- not a typical going-out day of the week -- and the place is busy with locals. Pretty good testimony to what's become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants.

Literally any restaurant can do that. They said they have to do the rice and the beans on the side and the guacamole on top with red sauce. I said just put the guacamole on the side and burritos shouldn't have sauce on it. She kept repeating it has red sauce I said no sauce strictly this stuff I said only. Doesn't take a rocket scientist... she kept saying cheese sauce I said No, we want cheese, literal cheese, not any sauce anything. I also ordered shrimp fajitas and steak nachos with just steak and cheese, and the burrito above. The chicken in the burrito was kind of dry, like they possibly boiled it then shredded it. Her food wasn't very flavorful. My bf said that his nachos were tasty but needed more cheese sauce. My plate wasn't flavorful at all. To me it seems like this is more Tex-Mex with white people in the kitchen. iI from California and have been to Mexico many time..so I know authentic Mexican food and this doesn't come anywhere near it. The salsa taste like they just mixed some tomato paste with a little bit of seasoning

Then I got the cheese enchilada w/ beef tips. The enchiladas were filled with american cheese and enchilada sauce from a can and the "beef tips" were just small pieces of beef cut up. We should have walked out after the rotten tomato.

All of our food was to us quickly and tasted great(chori pollo baby!). I'm usually a 2-3 drinks per meal type of person but I didn't even have time to polish off 1 before everything was in front of us. Service was good, chips refilled early and checking in often. Prices were very fair and including a tip over 20% we payed $70 for a family of 4.

I asked and the waitress said there was a $3.00 up charge on beef right now and there was a sign by the door. I checked, the sign was a piece of printer paper tapped to a board tucked half behind the podium. My review stands. Among the bottom 2 Mexican restaurants in the area. From 2024: If you decide to eat here there are a few things to be aware of. 1. Their menu prices are not current. You will absolutely be charged more than menu prices for some items. If you tell them that they will refuse to honor the menu price. This happened on two occasions fairly recently. On one occasion they lied about honoring it and adjusted the gratuity to hide the fact. 2. Their specialty drinks are not mixed correctly. Either overly sweet or overly sour. 3. The wait staff will forget to bring things to your table. Normally that's not a big deal if you see them again before you finish your food. 4. The food is mediocre most of the time. Its not bad, but its not great either. 5. The food is over priced for the quality they serve lately. If you want a better experience for less or the same money, go to Puerto Nuevo. La Carreta used to be much much better than they are now.
