I love Moe's and all the other Moe's like fake-Mex places. Moe's has my favorite queso, chips, and salsa (the options!). The chicken and steak are both great. Hubbo likes Moe's because they sometimes have fish as an option. I don't have a favorite Moe's but this one is my most frequented because it's close to work. Consistently, they prepare my food to go when I say it's to dine- in. Also, consistently, the woman at the register is wearing gloves. Why? Anyway, eat at Moe's. read more

Unfortunately, this location has not gotten better. Given the pandemic and stress, I really try to forgive a lot. I cashed in a free burrito reward and ordered delivery. The burrito was supposed to be steak and had maybe 2 pieces of steak in it. The double steak bowl also was missing steak and barely had ingredients like olives. The order came missing 3 drinks (out of 4) and missing sides I tried to call the restaurant and there is no way to speak to anyone. This is the worst Moe's in Rochester, without question. It has been for years, and no matter how many months (or years) I put between visits, it is consistently awful. I should know better. One time, a year or so ago, I looked up the hours of operation on Google and went to this spot over an hour before it closed. When I entered almost all of the food was disassembled and the staff ignored me until the manager came out and told me that "even though Google says they're open to a specific time they base their closing on whether its busy or not" - surely thats the staff making an executive decision for corporate. This and other ridiculous bullshit any and every time you walk into this location, specifically. So, jokes on me, I should have known not to go there today. With your poorly prepared food you'll also get a slow, disinterested staff that doesnt pay attention or know how to prepare said food, cups of queso filled only two thirds of the way and for being total garbage - it's not cheap. Vegetarian burrito bowl, a two third full cup of queso and a fountain drink was $20! Dang. Avoid this Moe's if you value anything whatsoever about getting what you pay for, I assure you, it's worth just going to Chipotle and getting your moneys worth. It's astonishing that this Moe's location is still in business - better restaurants have come and gone while this dumpster fire of terrible service and dried out trash food lingers on. Ordered a salad through Grubhub. Apparently they don't include lettuce as the base of a salad. Ordered queso fresco and they don't carry that either. They hardly put any chicken in this "salad". Then when you call to complain, they tell you it's not their fault, it's Grubhub's for having the wrong options on the site. Why wouldn't a company bother to tell Grubhub to fix the ordering options? Told us to make sure to ask for lettuce on the salad next time we order. Don't worry-there won't be a next time. read more

I've been here several times.  I meet lots of people in the College Town area, so I'm probably here about once a month.   This isn't my favorite Moe's (the one on Jefferson Road is), but I am a fan of Moe's.  I'm vegetarian, and they have tofu, unlike their competitor that starts with a C.  They also have good queso, which is also quite unlike their competitor... I don't think I've ever seen the same staff person here twice.  And the line gets rather long.  It seems like they never quite get the flow down at this one for making food and cashing people out. I ordered a Joey with tofu, and the burrito tortilla was stuck to the other one when he went to get one.  He peeled it really slowly, but you could see it ripping apart from the other one.  He continued to use it, put all my tofu, lettuce, chipotle ranch, etc, in it.  Well, when they went to wrap it at the end, it ripped.  They got me a new one without me even asking, but it was pretty obvious to me before they even starting making it that this would happen...and I don't work there... The food was pretty good this time. Something about this location; something is always a little off.  Like my burrito ripping open.  I was here a few times ago, and my friend ordered a Close Talker, and the edible shell was stale. And they're always out of several flavors on the Free Style machine...stuff like that. With the dwindling restaurants in College Town, I do hope this Moe's stays open.  I hope they use the opportunity to up their game and become the best Moe's location, and not just rely on the fact that they're one of the only quick service food locations still open in this area, and remain mediocre. read more

The American Disability Act (ADA) prohibits both public and private businesses from discriminating against people with disabilities.  This includes, but is not limited to the use of a service animal. Many people with disabilities use a service animal in order to fully participate in everyday life, I am one of them. By federal law, a service animal is allowed anywhere their help is needed.   The shift supervisor at Moe's restaurant broke that law on March 16, 2020 when he kicked me and my service dog, Fyona, out of the restaurant located on 1377 Mount Hope Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620. Fyona has been my service dog for almost 4 years. She goes everywhere I go. She's a black golden-doodle. Whenever she is out working, she wears a bright pink harness that says service dog on each side of it. It also has her ADA Certification, rabies, allergy, city park, and "if lost" tags. There should be no question of her role with me. On  the night in question, two friends, myself and my service dog came to Moe's for dinner. With the current coronavirus outbreak, the restaurant , was very quiet with only one table with two people eating. We each went thru the line and chose our food. Once we had our food and drinks we sat down at a table to eat. Fyona sat next to me on the floor. There wasn't anyone within 3 tables around us. She never showed interest in those who walked by her. She never got up. She never made a sound. No one even seemed to notice her. Fyona is never fed from a table, but I did give her some of my bottled water in the lid from my burrito bowl. It was tucked under the table next to us. The table was marked so that no one could sit there (as were more than half of the tables in the place). When we were done eating (about 45 minutes later) we took care of our trays. One of my friends, Fyona and I were at the soda machine refilling my drink when the shift supervisor told me I was "not allowed to have my dog" with me. He was on the phone (he said with his general manager). I was shocked, and told him she's my service dog, she goes anywhere I go. He again said no, I couldn't have my dog in a restaurant, and that his GM said I had to be asked to leave. My friend said she was a service dog, pointing at Fyona's vest and tags. He told the shift supervisor that she always comes with me, every single time. This supervisor was rude and arrogant. The law clearly says that a person with a disability cannot be asked to remove his service animal from the premises unless: (1) the dog is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it or (2) the dog is not housebroken. When there is a legitimate reason to ask that a service animal be removed, staff must offer the person with the disability the opportunity to obtain goods or services without the animal's presence. Fyona was leashed with harness and never out of control. She did not do anything to anyone or any property at Moe's during the 45 minutes we were there. In addition the laws about the service animal being permitted on the premises, staff in any establishment cannot ask about the person's disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task. And though the laws only allow these two questions most owners of service dogs, including myself, are generally always willing to answer and educate. New York's Civil Rights Law requires public facilities to allow guide dogs, service dogs, and hearing dogs. The American Disability Act requires State and local government agencies, businesses, and non-profit organizations that provide goods or services to the public to make "reasonable modifications" in their policies, practices, or procedures when necessary to accommodate people with disabilities. The service animal rules fall under this general principle. Accordingly, entities that have a "no pets" policy generally MUST modify the policy to allow service animals into their facilities.  The ADA defines a service animal as a dog that is individually trained to perform tasks or do work for the benefit of a person with a disability. Although the ADA also specifically prohibits cities, merchants and others from requiring proof that a dog is a service dog. Service animals MUST be allowed to accompany their handlers to and through self-service food lines, and to remain with their owners during the meal.  This is the law, and this is the law that was broken at Moe's on Monday, March 16, 2020. This was an actionable offense, and I am exploring my options and rights. read more

I went there for lunch yesterday, and as I was about to order my food, I saw a roach crawling. I told the world's, and at first, they looked surprised, and then I repeated three 3 times until a young lady came from around the counter and noticed it herself. She too looked shocked. Then, another worker saw the same roach , shrugged her shoulders, and went back to working. I quickly left the restaurant without my food. This place is so unprofessional and seems not to care about the restaurant. I considered calling the Health Department since the manager doesn't care about extra critters crawling around customers' food. read more

UPDATE: Every single review so far for this location mentions how abnormally small the portions are. Management, if you see this, you should really address this. I've never been to a Moe's like this. Brand new Moe's that just opened up, so granted, a lot of workers are new. But my burrito was the smallest burrito I've ever gotten at a Moe's. Terribly small. It was frozen log of Bob Evan's sausage sized. Actually smaller than that. The guy doing my toppings was apparently deathly afraid of sour cream and guacamole - I had to ask him to put more in and he seemed quite astonished that anyone would want more than a teaspoon of either. I got a cup of queso too and a solid inch of room was left empty in the cup. That queso is the nectar of the god's, and I got jipped. Fill that puppy up!!! C'mon! read more

This review is only for Mt Hope Location which recently opened. I am trying to cut the team so slack because they just opened but if you are going to spend over 8.00 on a burrito it should at least have more than 1tbsp of meat on it. Literally minimal ground beef and beans. It almost appeared they were trying to hide the grilled onions, mushrooms and peppers. I like to fill mine up with veggies and I had to keep asking for more and I'm not talking about abnormally large amounts. The free chips and was the wonderful tasting queso - keep them somewhat in the running but I won't come to this location again as there are several other to choose from with easier parking, better service and appropriate servings sizes. read more

It's not my usual place to eat but due to my hunger and wanted something spicy, I entered Moe's to find out whether or not this place can help hold my tummy. It actually did. You can't expect more from the place like this but I thought they keep it pretty clean and simple. I ordered rice, chicken and fish and some vegetable in a bowl to go. It comes with nachos (which I didn't eat). They let you pick your own nachos dip, a few choices. The workers were pleasant, ready to serve. I normally like Moe's but i had to write a review about this one because of how BAD the service, food, and overall experience was at this particular Moe's yesterday. First things first, the one sanitizer dispenser that i had to actually look for was empty. There was no distancing of people in line at all. There was not a huge line, just down to the end of the counter and it took 24 min before i was able to take a single step forward. I dont know what they were doing for that time (maybe making online orders?), but everyone just stood there for over 20 min before i saw a single person get served. Total time for me to get thru the line (my order was a steak stack, cup of queso, and a bottled coke) was 39 min. Almost 40 min to get thru a Moes line.... unheard of! Lets get to the food now. The steak was dried out, the stack was WAY over cooked on the grill also. The shell was so hard it took serious effort to bite thru it. There might of been 5-7 half chips in my tray, the rest were literally just crumbs..... even the bottled coke was warm. It was an overall terrible experience and I'll take the $19 I spent there as a lesson learned and I'll never set foot in that place again. I wish i took photos, but at the time i wasnt thinking about that or even writing a review (this is my first), but it was so bad I had to spread the word. It would be nice to see them close and have something decent move in that spot. After all there is always a Chipotle right across the street which has always been consistently good. :) read more

I get to cash out and he yells to her- oh she's got 2 quesadillas. I said "no I have 1." I get the eye all around as if I ordered 2 and changed my mind. Um. This restaurant has the worse customer service of any moe's I have been to. I ordered a salad online and when it got delivered it was just toppings. When I called the person on the phone started arguing with me that you have to order lettuce on a salad. I told a salad comes with lettuce, it's a given it in the description on the website. She said I would have to take it up with Grubhub. Grubhub is a delivery service they did not make my food. This is will be the last time I order from Moe's if this is the quality they put forth. read more

Ordered from this location online and they got our order totally wrong. Too bad we didn't realize it until we got home. My husbands "bowl" was missing the chicken he ordered, and was half full. It looked pathetic. My burrito was missing the chicken also and neither of us got the salsa we ordered with our chips. Disappointed to say the least and we won't be back. read more

This is honestly the worst Moe's to go to. Every single time I've been there they seriously skimp on the meat. I've been too afraid to ask for a little more but I mean it's ridiculous. You could go to Taco Bell and get a mini quesadilla for a fraction of the price with more meat. Not only that but the staff is so rude. They act like you're an inconvenience to them sitting around. Personally I prefer the one in Henrietta better because that one is a less boxed in and you can see more blue sky, but this one is okay too. The service lives up to expectations and the parking, while not ideal, is acceptable. They are also usually less crowded than the Chipotle across the street and have a decent sized TV toward the back of the restaurant. read more

Well, brand new and just like the Corner Bakery next to it, the staff probably need a little more training and generosity!!! Preparing the burritos. There was a free burrito coupon available in honor of their grand opening, so I took advantage of it and went there to give it a shot. Loved the place, very clean and cozy. Definitely preferred it over the Chipotle which is across the street from this place. You probably have to pay a couple of bucks extra to get almost the same thing as Chipotle; the portions probably a tad smaller. They offer parsley as well as olive, onion and so on which took the aroma and taste level of my burrito a notch or two higher. Overall, i liked it. It was as good of an experience as "just a burrito" can get. read more

The workers were the only ones wearing masks when I was there, and some of them not even properly. I was waiting for my food by the cash register and this whole group of customers is just standing right behind me maskless and definitely done eating. Not only did none of the workers ask these people to put masks on or leave, but one of the workers went to join them and even took off her mask. Covid-wise this made me really uncomfortable and I'd advise anyone to avoid going here. read more

Welcome to Moe's! I've been here about three times since their recent opening. While this is a typical Moe's and has the same menu and similar layout to their other locations, it lacks a certain Je ne sais quoi and this poses an unusually difficult challenge for Moe's. College Town is a budding new neighborhood with plenty of restaurants to choose from and it seems as if when given the choice most people are venturing to the neighboring Chipotle. On each of my visits to Moe's there have been very few patrons and here are a few things that I have experienced which could contribute as to why. Firstly, service has been a bit slow. While you think it would be fast since everything's lined up, you're almost always bound to find some empty container missing a key ingredient for what you need on your entree. During this part, I just usually hold my breath and pray that there's enough. Secondly, I'm all about education, but is it really wise to put a trainee on the line on a Saturday afternoon. I mean learning is wonderful, but some kid playing in my food and taking 3 tries to make a proper quesadilla is a bit much for a Saturday afternoon, don't you agree? There's got to be a manual that he can read in the back right? Lastly, I have to echo previous reviews. The staff here are all green and it shows. They still have not ironed out all the wrinkles. With that being said, I like Moe's and the food at this location is standard. If your in the hood and want to avoid the Chipotle line, they are right across the street. read more

Honestly this was the horrible. We walked in and not one of the two (miserable) girls working said a thing to us, including "welcome to Moe's". I had to go up and ask her to start making our orders and gave us both very small portions. The other lady who was working took my bowl away from the lady that was making it because she was pissed that we came at 8:30 and had a major attitude. I had to ask for all of the other stuff I wanted in the 2 oz cups which really bothered me, as it was a huge waste of plastic when it could have just gone in the bowl. The food was cold and the chips tasted like they were left out for hours before we got there. And then the freestyle cola machine was out of everything and they couldn't care less. I mean it is a Moe's in the city and honestly people shouldn't expect that much but this place needs some new staff ASAP. read more

So, we are at the hospital b/c if our sons surgery. By the time he got out of recovery there were no food options open in the hospital and he was starving because he hadn't eaten since the day before. My husband arrive there around 8:30pm. The was not acknowledged when he walked in. Two staff were talking to each other for a while before the acknowledged a customer. Finally they asked him what he wanted. I'm he said a jr burrito. The guy walked back over to the coworker and told him half of this sign was clean, the other half needs to look the same. Then he walks back to my husband and says, sorry what did you want? He said burrito again. The guy had to leave to go get the wraps. Then for my salad he said he wanted the vinaigrette and they didn't even know what it was. He was given no utensils for the salad. The whole thing was a joke. I expected better, but I think I'm done with Moes. We have have similar poor experiences with the Greece location as well. No thank you. read more

I thought I would stop in quick considering I had 30 minutes until my shift started... I thought wrong. There is absolutely nothing quick about this place. Granted they are brand spanking new, the big bad manager was just standing around barking orders at his ill equipped staff while he "ran" the cash register. There were 4-5 employees anxiously pacing back and forth behind the line, while only two were actually working and making food. There were 14 people in line, I counted, and it took me 25 minutes to get a sad, little, understaffed burrito bowl. I can't believe their portions and prices compared to chipotle. Save your time and money and head there across the street! Your stomach and wallet will thank you. read more
