In late march, I had called and talked to Matt, a sales rep a couple weeks earlier, explaining to him, what I was in the market for. When he called me last week and said a vehicle matching my list had just come in, I made a special trip to go take a look. Moffitt Ford in Boone, Iowa is not Better Business Bureau accredited, and based on my experience, that matters. I purchased a 2016 Chevy Cobalt that was listed at $5,744. I was supposed to receive a $400 trade-in and was asked for a $1,000 down payment. Jesse was the car salesman, and Mr. Leuk, the finance manager who they call Doc, were directly involved in how this deal was handled. They tried to structure the deal so that even after a $1,000 down payment, the car would still be priced at $5,744, even though a down payment should go to the bank and reduce the balance. I was charged $150 just to change out and put on a license plate, which should not be a customer charge. They also attempted to charge me $700 for a brake light that I never asked for, claiming it came with the car, which I clearly did not agree to. It was obvious that the salesman and finance manager coordinated closely with each other throughout this process in a way that allowed these issues to happen. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Moffitt Ford, and I strongly advise people to be very cautious and carefully review all numbers, fees, and promises when dealing with this dealership. read more

Rich snobby kids inherited company from the grandparents. Fires people super fast. Back and forth. I don't recommend working or doing business with them. They don't do very well job on the cars. Only part way done and messy. They left the oil cap off and my engine was covered in oil. Turns out it was a experience tech too get worked on my oil pan. read more

So disheartened by the way they treat their customers. Once they get your money, they make it clear that they don't care about providing any level of customer service, care, or taking an ounce of responsibility for the quality of their vehicles. We bought a car less than 4 months ago and clearly put our trust in the wrong people. It has been a lemon, and they have made it clear that they don't care and have been rude and dismissive of the issues we've faced in the short time we've had this vehicle. We had a much better experience with Lithia in Ames years ago and regret straying from them for this purchase. We are now seeking legal counsel, which could have been avoided if Moffitts had been willing to handle this with us directly, instead of treating us with a complete lack of regard. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR FOR SERVICE HERE!!!! Mike the service advisor is amazing!!!! However, anything beyond him is just chaos. Brought it in for possible transmission or coil pack issues. Its been there three times and a total of 5 weeks. They state they could not find anything. However when they returned it, they delivered it with a "check engine light on" for codes relating to the coil pack. Have not responded to emails, phone calls or letters. I have aso been in contact with Ford directly. They also did not replace the front struts as asked and i was going to pay for. If i could give negative stars i would. They are scammers, in relation to service department!!! read more

I've worked for them for 2 years and when Chris Moffett hired one of his best friends (Ron Service manager) discriminating against me because I'm transgender instead of taking responsible actions Chris fired me "because I'm transgender and they could always find a new detailer and Ron is Chris best friend". Overpriced snob crew there! From the salesman in their cheap suits to the service center that cannot get repairs right, go somewhere else and you will be happier - guaranteed. The only thing they have reasonably priced is tires....but the last alignment they did was a joke - charged me for a $60 kit because they couldn't adjust it enough..on top of the cost of the alignment....and my car still shook going down the road. read more

Service dept. replaced rear pinion seal after that have wining noise, took my f150 back for test drive then they said they told me about bearing noise, no they did not, There is nothing on my service invoice about that fact, they charged my $478.05 and now my axle is very loud. read more

2nd time I've seen their ad on Craigslist with a price that interested me in the vehicle. The advertised price was $3258 but then after driving to Boone, test driving the vehicle and wasting my time the salesman told me it was $5957 and that there was a mistake on Craigslist. This is the 2nd time Moffit's has done this to me. I think they do it deliberately and then refuse to HONOR their advertised price. Is there such a thing as an honest car salesman????? read more
