I was told by a salesperson at the store that you can order balloons online at Michaels, and bring them in for inflation with helium. I assumed that Michaels works the same way as a grocery store selling and filling their balloons for the cost of the balloon itself. I thus ordered balloons for a baby shower from the Michaels' website. However, upon bringing them in for inflation, I was told by the manager that Michaels sold this set of 10 mylar heart balloons through a third party. Michaels will only inflate these third-party balloons for $3.00 a piece. This makes a simple mylar balloon cost now $6 each. The Michaels website reads: "Order online and pick up your pre-inflated balloons in store." They do NOT mention that inflation with helium is a hefty separate charge, or let you know that they do NOT inflate for free all of the ones they sell on the Michaels website. To compensate me as this is not a clear policy on their website, they gave me a $15 gift card towards the cost of the $30 helium charge. My advice: save your money and go elsewhere for balloons!

You can decide when you arrive at the store. Curbside pickup was fast and efficient. In addition, staff member was pleasant. Calm, orderly parking area. Michael's has an excellent variety of photo supplies including stock frames, mats, storage cases, and photo albums. They even offer custom framing but I think their prices are high in spite of the coupon discounts offered. I have also had items shipped to my house if they were not available in local stores.

I walked in and I wasn't greeted as I went to the jewelry section of the store. My friend gave me a general idea of what she wanted the piece to look like so I wanted to take my time looking through the jewelry section to find what she'd like. While browsing I noticed an employee come nearby to stock or something. I still wasn't greeted or asked if I needed help, even though I had been standing there for a while looking around. I realized I had forgotten my gift card in my car so I put the one item I had, back on the peg where it came from. I walked out to my car and returned less than a minute later to 2 employees searching the area I was browsing as if looking to see if I stole something. I left them to continue looking for nothing and started browsing on the other side of the isle, not wanting to interact with them at this point. I needed help finding a replacement zipper but I was so uncomfortable/anxious that I used the Michael's app to look at the map of the store to find it. Throughout my time in the store I was followed/looked for and a few employees stayed in the jewelry section while I was shopping elsewhere. It was early so I was 1 of at most 10 people in the store at the time and I was the only POC. I used the self checkout and only when I started to leave an employee spoke to me and said "have a good day."
