With…read moremost other arts and culture in the area on hold right now, we were craving something interesting to do, and decided to brave the snow to check out a brand new exhibition at the Opalka Gallery. First, I want to get this out of the way: the space is teeny-tiny, so you're not going to make a day of it. You might not even make a half-hour of it. For someone who really loves wandering around galleries and museums it feels a little like being served exactly five potato chips. However, the art on display is legitimately really interesting and worth seeing. Right now the exhibition includes prints, sculptures, and a motorized sound installation that was really cool to look at, even though we didn't get to see it in action (the artist wasn't there when we were). I'm really looking forward to coming back here post-covid to attend some of the musical performances and other events that the Opalka gallery runs -- in the summer of 2019 they were hosting an outdoor beer garden with art and music that I really regret never having checked out when I had the chance! Post script: COVID procedures are scrupulously followed here, so be prepared to fill out a contact-tracing form and have your temperature taken before you can check out the art.

I learn something new every time I go, and I'm always amazed by what I'm able to create in just a couple of hours. Devery, the owner, is genuinely kind and welcoming--and her sweet dog Walter makes every visit even better! She has a remarkable memory for people and goes out of her way to make you feel at home. You can even text her directly with questions about classes, and she responds promptly and thoughtfully. Please, please check this place out--it's truly a hidden gem!

I was recommended here for custom framing work after my regular store closed. They were very…read morefriendly here, and they worked with me to obtain a special frame through custom ordering. They have "regular" hours but they also do appointments by request, which is nice. Of note, they had to search multiple companies to find a frame that was similar to some we already had, and that took several weeks. In general, I had to call them for updates even when deadlines were missed (they had good reasons for it) and I wish they had taken the initiative to call me first. However, it all worked out in the end and I am happy with the job they did.

This business carries an abundant selection of frames and Brenda (the owner) has an extensive…read moreinventory of beautiful quality frames (ranging in style, price and colors) which she wisely leaves out around the establishment so that the customer can help themselves and select a corner and place it against their artwork to see what may look best (unlike so many other businesses who keep all the frame samples behind the register and you have to point to the staff to give you each individual piece to test (which can take hours and frustration in the art of pointing), not to mention annoyed customers who are cuing up for the same thing behind you. Brenda is a wonderful businesswoman, very professional, friendly, competent and cares about her customers, willing to spend time with each client to address their individual requirements. Each time we bring our artwork, there are other customers picking up their framed pieces, in awe her gorgeous work. This has very much been our own experience with her as well. Her pricing is appropriate for the amount of effort she puts into all the work. Despite how busy she is, she always responds in a timely manner to any inquiries which is deeply appreciated. Highly recommend and the only trusted place we go to for framing our artworks.

Owner takes your phone number and email, but she does not let you know that your order is ready for pick up. She says she "tried several times," but I do not believe that is the case. I definitely would have received the texts or emails. I had to call shop. I also had to call her about my last order! Recommendation: Pay minimum amount due when your order is placed. If you pay in full as I did, there is little incentive to contact customer.

Purchased a 75yr old framed Grandma Moses lithograph online (original frame/glass/backing) UPS and…read morearrived with the glass broken. I brought my item to Certified Framing & Gallery and they put in new glass, repositioned/centered the lithograph, they appeared to have polished/cleaned the frame and put on a new backing with new wire and hardware to hang. They had it done within 3 days for around $40.00 Looks GREAT and I couldn't be happier. True professionals!

My wife and I have a collection of autographed pictures that we want to hang in our house together…read more We wanted the frames to match but we couldn't afford to have six custom frames made so we purchased some inexpensive ones. However, the matting and the glass in cheap frames leaves a lot to be desired. I brought everything here, and we worked out a deal where they would custom cut replacement matting, UV protection glass, and then attached the pictures to the matting. When we picked them up, we just had to reinstall everything in the frames we already had (which they confirmed we pretty good quality frames). We are very pleased with the results.

The prices are middle of the road but the selection is very nice, and the location's convenient to monument square. Recommended for browsing if you're of that ilk.
