Been going to this gym for a couple of months now, have been learning so much from the coaches and the students here. Really love the place.

I'm very lucky to have started coming to this gym. I have taken boxing and BJJ for 3 months now. After the beginners BJJ class is over we are allowed to grapple, if we chose, with students from the advanced class. Everyone I have rolled with has been super nice and helpful even though they could have tied me in a knot at any moment if they wanted to. I have learned from fellow students and the instructors are amazing! The boxing class is also rad, coach always plays cool music and is really skilled and good at sharing his knowledge. We have gone over Micky Ward's double hook technique in a few classes and it is so cool. In my first class I did not even know what stance I was, I stood southpaw when I should have been orthodox (just for an example of how much of a noob I was) and each class I learn more from this wizard. The place is beautiful and clean, best gym ever. The gear shop has great quality items and everything you could need. The front desk is always helpful and kind. Mohler is a great coach! . Overall awesome place, 5/5 would def recommend anyone to check it out. read more

No masks, no social distancing. Not just between the people taking the classes (because obviously that's hard to do) but in the observation area. People sneezing, coughing, talking loudly without masks, all less than a foot from each other. Also a child (2 years old, if that) was playing baby shark out loud through a smart phone speaker. More than a Gym; It's Family. Finding a decent MMA Gym in Dallas is challenging enough; there is always something missing that leaves me half-cold. I only had three essential criterias when trying different gyms: Are classes effective and are the Instructors knowledgeable? Am I satisfied with the Facility? How does the environment make me feel? I thought my expectations were a little too high after what felt like months of searching for the right gym.  Here is the thing: Expectation is relative. When I came across Mohler MMA, I wondered why my expectations were so low to begin with.  I was greeted with a modest, amiable energy from the staff the moment I walked in. Since then, friendly vibes continue to emanate from the gym's veins; everyone greets you by name and treats you as part of one big family. I always look forward to training with them! What most impresses me about Mohler MMA are the Instructors and their ability to get the most out of you. The Owner, Allen Mohler, is an extraordinary professor to learn from. He is incredibly detail oriented in his coaching. There aren't strange, strict rules you have to follow to learn, unlike other schools in Dallas! The coaching is so straightforward, encouraging and effective; it feels personal. This is probably the biggest reason I felt my technique improve tenfold. Other than his coaching (and ALL coaches are extremely proficient) he is easy to get in contact with and incredibly friendly. I learned that he has been in Jiu Jitsu for almost 30 years, trained in Brazil, and is the first American in his lineage!  The famous saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. But the moment you step into this facility, you realize just how important it can be for your training and overall contentment. The training mat is MASSIVE. There is so much room to train; crowded is not a word that exists here. The lobby's are large and comfortable. They include everything from TV's to charging stations to leather seats to spa-like bathrooms. My favorite thing about the facility is its cleanliness.  Quality radiates from this gym, and I am incredibly happy and fortunate to be a part of the Mohler MMA family. read more

The gym has terrible business practices (not their strong suite), which takes away from the boxing. It is a shame but I do not recommend this gym at all. There are much better gyms in Dallas with you will receive the business and customer service a client deserves along with great training. read more

Coach Mohler is without a doubt the best of the best when it comes to coaches. You first hand get to be in contact with the head coach/owner. Which is really nice and comforting in my opinion. I like that this school is comfortable and you feel like you're at home here. You're treated like family and really get high quality coaching. It's nice to be apart of a team and not just be another number or just feel left out while class is going on. I am really happy I found Mohler MMA! :) id really recommend at least trying out the free class you get to see what you think of it personally. read more

From the basics to the more high level technical skills in BJJ. Also another great thing about the gym is their Muay Thai class. Everyone in there is sweet including the staff. I took beginners boxing here for 3 months. The instructor quietly mumbled instructions for us and then we went through some moves. Then he would look at his phone and chat up his friends instead of walking around and giving us pointers. Also none of the students were fun to box with. They all were either too advanced to be in a beginners boxing class and therefore had too much ego and were impatient, or they were actual beginners but still had an inflated ego. The facility is nice and the front desk is nice but the instruction, students, and number of classes offered are a far cry from the (cheaper) boxing gym that I went to in Boston. read more

I went to a couple kickboxing classes. The teacher (I didn't even get his name) didn't acknowledge that I was new to his class nor did he ask my/anyone's experience level to know what to teach us. So he was just yelling out combos to do without explaining them at all and I was just left to figure it out on my own from watching others in the group (can you say dangerous?). Maybe everyone was a regular and I was the only new person, but doesn't that actually make it worse to ignore me? Or maybe he doesn't know people's level and just teaches whatever to whoever comes. Any way I try to explain it actually makes it worse. Plus another boxing class was going on in the same room so the irrelevant timers and extra noise and people running around doing all different things was distracting to say the least. It did seem like a cool class if you're already advanced at kickboxing and it was fun to try some moves but I didn't know what I was doing so I didn't waste my money on a membership there as a beginner. read more
