I give 4 stars because the first appointment I thought I had found someone who was willing to help me out.. the PA Kimberly Amato is very attentive and helpful. I have suspected Ehlers donlos for the last year and she was able to see it right away after explaining to her my issues I was having with my body and my nerves. I also have seizures but no one can seem to figure out why. She put me thru the Beighton scale and I scored a 9/9 and she had the office put in a referral for me to see a geneticist and I cried because this is the first time I've had someone in the health care field know about EDS and I finally had someone in my corner to help me out. I came back to get a nerve study, the dr was very nice but when I asked him about my EDS he said you don't have hyper joints without even having me do anything. I had to show him my pinky, which has to be at a 90 degree angle and how my thumb lays on my wrist.. he just said ohhhhh, you might have it. He didn't seem to have any knowledge in EDS which is fine... I am just upset that if I do need help with this referral I hope they still help me. Called to request records for my child and the extremely rude and hostile receptionist insisted I had to come (from out of state) in person with my child to request her records. When I asked for clarification, she refused to identify herself and hung up on me. I can see I'm not the first to have this experience, my only hope is I'm the last. Mother is 90 years old and has taken a turn for the worse with dementia. Her general practitioner wants her to see her neurologist (Dr. Ali). Dr. Ali has no availability until the end of August. It was suggested to me (by the appointment center) to try calling on Mondays and Wednesday to see if there is a cancellation (Dr. Ali only is only available on Tuesday and Thursday). I spoke with a person who makes the appointments today and she stated that there is a cancellation but only for a new patient not an exiting patient. UNBELEIABLE!!! read more

Dr. Ali's office is located across from San Antonio Hospital in a newer tall building. Parking was plenty. It was easy to find his office on the first floor. The office staff are OK in person. They were helpful when I called about a question. Dr. Ali is amazing! He is very friendly. I'm a nurse. He was not rushed. He answered my questions. My dad is having memory issues consistent with age. He is very thorough and did not miss anything. I am confident in his skill as a neurologist. read more

This was my second opinion Neurologist ...After talking me into a medication I never wanted to be on which was Klonopin as well as Zoloft...for anxiety because I lost 80 pounds without trying, and I'm basically have all the signs and symptoms of hyper thyroidism but no blood work that backs any of that up... every test (and we have tested everything) all come back negative and normal ...And the more anxiety medication they throw at me makes everything worse... Anyway, he wanted me to take them for two months continuously and then come back in and I don't even know when my appointment was because this doctors office is in the ice age and there's no leaving a message with anyone you have to call during business hours, which are 8 to 5 on the days that he's there but they close for two hours for lunch and it says specifically not to leave a message to call 9-1-1 if it's an emergency or call back during business hours ...so no reminder text no reminder Email no reminder phone call... during that time. My mom went into the hospital and consequently died,... Anyway, through all of this, we were having her celebration of life at my house in my backyard ... a major storm blowing through and obviously I had all the stress of family members in town and doing everything ourselves ...wondering who's gonna show up to the this because you don't really get to choose... So the week before my prescription was going to run out I went through my portal from my pharmacy to have them start the process of contacting my drs office... and they could not get a hold of anybody and then after another week of me trying to get a hold of somebody they said they were going have that ready for him he's only here 1 1/2 days a week... after a few more days and me calling continuously when they answered the phone. The lady was so short with me and she would not let me finish a conversation to save my life I just wanted to explain to her what occurred and what was going on in my life at the time and she just kept saying well you people by the way she did say you people I don't know what you people meant but you people need to be better about calling ahead of time and all this yada yada... I explained to her or tried to anyway that I did do that but eventually when they had him send the prescription he said no I want to see her before I will prescribe anything and my next appointment was March 31... So five days before we're having her memorial he has me stop taking Klonopin and Zoloft cold turkey... two medication that I know you're not supposed to do that you're supposed to wean yourself off of it... I don't think I need to say any more than that... So as punishment for me missing one appointment... One not two not three... but 1 appointment because of the chaos going on in my life. and he decides to have me stop taking two psych meds?....cold turkey?...simultaneously?... and then you expect me after getting the medication I did not want to take and the roller coaster ride you put me through with the medication that I would even attempt to go back on. It is absurd. There's no way that that is healthy for you. So I would never recommend this doctor and I have actually officially filed a complaint. read more

It's a busy office but worth the wait and the challenge getting your first appointment. Dr Ali changed my life by prescribing a new med that my regular doctor could not. His front office even sent in the proper forms to get it approved by my insurance which took a while. I did have to do some foot work on my part because my pharmacy wasn't communicating well with them but definitely worth it to be treated by him. read more

First I am a nurse who assaulted by a man/patient, he tried to murder me by beating me almost to death. I have a traumatic brain injury/TBI. Had an authorization for a nerve block and further treatment in network. I tried to explain what I needed but Dr. Meek/Dr Ali refused to listen. I brought my wife who is a Doctor herself with me I have difficulty talking and severe PTSD. And so she tried to talk with him but he just talked over her. He said he didn't do nerve pain treatments. Informed my wife to take me to the neurologist that my insurance rejected. He would not even listen that insurance sent me to him for treatment. Dr.Ali got very irate yelling at us saying he didn't care if we had an authorization from insurance he refused to help me or provide basic medical care. Very frustrating. This was my first appointment and he ended this by giving me a letter that he is discharging me from care and refused all future visits. Keep in mind I am an experienced nurse and my wife is a very experienced doctor. The way to handle a patient in pain is a simple question " How can I help you?" Sorry no one had cared about how disabled the TBI is. But no he refused medical care and through myself and my wife out of the office. We recorded the whole thing, so we are reporting him the California medical license board in addition filing a lawsuit of medical malpractice and emotional abuse. Evidence is the letter, the recording and of course the expert testimony from my wife who is the leading doctor in neurology for the State of California. They didn't know who they were yelling at and they are going to be lucky if the State allows them to be doctors to pet rock ! read more

Please read if you are on disability from this office and have not been paid from edd. This doctor put me on disability, as I am. Then, I found out my edd account was suspended because this doctor will not id themselves through "Id me," per edd's request. Because of this, I have not been paid for months and can not work. Every time I call this office, they act like I'm bothering them. When I call edd, they say that it's up to this office to comply and they will not pay me without this doctor verifying his identity. Now this office sent me back to my regular doctors and don't want to deal with me. To add to all this, I'm still disabled, a single mom and have used all of my savings. read more

I want to begin by saying I read the Yelp reviews prior to calling Dr. Ali's office with mixed emotions. I was referred by my Primary Physician to choose from three offices and I chose this Parkside office. I'll tell you why I did....Ana who I spoke to initially was so nice during making my initial first appointment over the phone. Yes I had to wait a few weeks to get my first visit but this is a busy office with many patients to serve. Fast forward to first visit which was the first week of April. My Neurologist who took care of me here was Dr. Ravi Raj Singh. My initial visit Dr. Singh he was very patient while showing genuine concern while answering my important questions on the issues I addressed on my symptoms. He does not attempt to rush you in & out even though the office is quite busy. I had a total of three office visits with today being the last. I was quite happy with the results. I have to say I was very impressed with Dr. Singh and the staff here especially Ana who always called me a day or two prior to my appointments and was always so courteous while doing so. In addition my waiting time on my visits from the time I arrived was minimal. So FIVE STARS for this this office! Thanks again read more

Don't know what to say, Dr Ali is brilliant neurologist. At 35 I was "diagnosed" with essential tremors.....went to Dr.Ali for a second opinion (and we were on tough times) and he watched me walk in and calmly told me I had Parkinson's. Didn't know what that was except for Michael J fox has it. Long story short? 10 years later and a hell of a ride I have a DBS system wired to my head to create more dopamine, naturally. Being as young as I am with this disease and as robust and fit they felt it would be a good possibility. Good? I was on six or seven medications 2 years ago. Today? Not 1... I am typing on my little stupid phone LOL thanks doctor Ali. Stay away from this doctor. I have been seeing him for almost 10 years and have have suffering with a condition that has destroyed my self esteem and mental well being. He tried a number of medications with no results and injections with minimal results. He refused to consider surgical options for 10 years saying I was not a candidate but he was wrong. I met with a surgeon on my own who corrected the condition with brain surgery. He also has abruptly taken me off meds in the past without a proper taper causing major withdrawal symptoms. I went with a friend who could not walk after his back surgery. His surgeon had told him he will be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Dr Ali examined him witha EMG/NCV test and made a diagnosis of Guillian Barre Syndrome. He said with IVIg treatment this man should fully recover in a few weeks. Came back very impressed. I've heard a couple of people say bad things about my happy Dr., and it bothered me, so I went all Matlock on it. Turns out (and don't know why I'm surprised) there are quite a few Dr. M. Ali's in the Inland Empire. There are 2 internists, a GP, and then of course, the guy I go to- who is Neurology and an Internist- and the names are similar, Mohammed, Moshen. I just thought that I'd throw that out there, because I really can't imagine Dr. Ali of Parkside Medical ever being cruel, or lacking in bedside manner. Referred to Ali Mohsen saw dr Singh. first time here and waited and hour in the wait room plus 30 in exam room. When I asked the young ladies why it was taking so long they said bc the doctor was backed up. Basically they overbook patients to make their daily insurance goal. It's inappropriate and awful to treat elder patients like this. When we did see the doctor he quickly rushed protocol and told my father he'll see him back. Worst doctor ever. I tried to make an appointment today since my primary provider referred me to them. This is probably the 5th time since there was an issue with my authorization. My primary contacts tricare and obtained from tricare a waiver which they said they submitted to dr Ali's office. I contacted the office but they insisted they did not receive anything and that they still need authorization. I asked them if they can call my primary care provider and they said no and that I needed to contact them myself. I guess they don't need a new patient so I contacted my provider to get me a new neurologist who needs a new patient and more business. read more

I don't really know if the doctor is any good or not, because I could not get past his office staff in order to make an appointment. The woman on the phone was insanely rude, and seemed to truly and genuinely dislike people. She was all attitude, from the moment she picked up the phone, and was immediately putting up obstacles and creating problems. The call ended when she told me that they no longer accept my insurance. I called my insurance company and sure enough, they are still on my plan. I guess she was lying? I have no idea why you would choose to work in a doctors office if you hate talking to people. And why would you try to stop people from getting help, when they are sick? Maybe you get off on hurting people and causing them problems? Rudeness. Completely obnoxious. I am 52 years old and am widely considered a patient and relaxed kind of a guy, who takes things in stride. I never put in reviews online and this is my first. I had to do this though because this Doctor's Office is special. I have never been to a medical office where there is such a vast difference between the Dr. and the "support staff". My son has been a patient of Dr Ali's for approximately 3 years. My son suffers from seizures, and Dr. Ali's care and treatment of him has been excellent. The Doctor is always kind an has a wonderful manner about him. However ..... The front office staff are completely incompetent and disorganized. This I could forgive somewhat because I know working in the medical field is difficult and often thankless. These failings however are compounded by the rudeness and outright surliness displayed by the front office staff. Over the years I've just sort of taken it in stride but I can't any longer. Why a doctor would allow these "ladies" to behave this way I can't understand. It has to be hurting his practice. I have had multiple appointment scheduling issues, prescriptions that were delayed and always have had trouble even getting his personal assistant to answer the telephone. She routinely makes it very clear that she dislikes her job and the patients. But if you want to catch up on the local gossip, you can hear the gab session if you sit by the closed glass window. Dr. Ali is wonderful! Understands and really listens to paitence. However, the front girls...they are very rude, huge nasty bully attitudes, always chit chatting instead wotking. My second visit after I complained, they would call another person that was cam way after me after me first and made me wait an hour and a half. Once they call my name they told me go to that room without assisting or specifying which room. I can strongly sense they don't want to work there as they make fun of patients! They're millions of ppl who desperately want their positions, why would such a awesome Doctor keeps these girls employed! I couldn't walk or speak without stuttering, yet it took 2 weeks to get an appointment. Dr Baek questioned why I was there & I told him ER doctor said I needed to schedule a follow up with a neurologist ASAP. I had been diagnosed with a Hemiplegic Migraine. He acted like it was no big deal despite the fact I couldn't speak and needed assistance walking. He said we could do an EEG right then to see if maybe I had a mini seizure and then he'd go over results and we could ask any questions we had at that time. He told us to wait for nurse, but 10 minutes later nurse came in stating my insurance had to approve EEG, so bring a Friday, we'd have to wait until next week to do it. My husband told her we had questions for the doctor & she said we could ask them next week when we came back for EEG. On Tuesday, I hadn't heard from them so I called them & was told the person in charge of referrals was out until the following Monday & I'd have to wait. I explained that I was told I'd hear from them this week for EEG. She said I'd have to wait. When I asked if there was anyone else who could help see if my insurance approved EEG do i could go in, she said only if my case was life threatening, but "yours isn't, so no." I told her we were supposed to be able to talk to Dr. Baek about our questions about my health, his long these effects would last, approximation of returning to work, etc. she said I'd have to wait until April 1st when Erica got back. I took this as a sign that I needed to find a different neurologist! AWFUL! read more

I got a very poor first impression when I walked into this office today. Rather than being greeted with the typical friendly smile and a cordial "good morning, please sign in" I was greeted by a desk sealed off by a decorative sliding glass door. I walked up to the desk where I saw a sign in sheet neatly placed. As I signed in, I could hear the office staff quietly speaking among themselves behind the glass door. After I sat down in the waiting area, the glass door opened slightly, a hand quickly crept out, grabbed the sign in sheet and the sliding glass door swiftly closed. A few minutes later, other patients entered the office and I witnessed the same process. Shortly after that, the glass door opened again and Karen called me to the counter and requested my insurance card and ID and then instructed me to complete paperwork before she quickly closed the glass door again. As I was filling out the forms, I noticed two forms required signatures to acknowledge that I received their privacy policy and information regarding something about advanced care. I didn't receive any of those forms, so I questioned Karen about this, she said, "You can read it if you want. The binder is right over there". I thought that was really unprofessional because the form that I was expected to sign clearly reads "acknowledgement" that I "RECEIVED a copy". Karen merely repeated her last statement, sighed and then added "I can make a copy if you want". To top it off, Karen told me that I needed to throw away my drink. She rudely stated "You need to throw that away or go put it in your car. That's just our policy. We don't allow drinks in here". This was also very bizarre to me because it was a hard plastic cup for my smoothie, sealed with a lid and a straw. The entire experience was horrible to say the least. I will be submitting s formal complaint regarding my visit. The only reason this place earned more than zero stars is because the neurologist is absolutely fabulous. Amazing doctor, he was able to treat my condition. but I decided to switch because the women at the front desk may sometimes be dismissive when handling important information. I was scheduled to receive treatments and on the week of when I called- they said my insurance didn't go through. No one bothered to contact me about that & they took forever to verify my insurance information. It was a very difficult & stressful time for me already so to have to call everyday for 2 weeks to ask if it went through as well as delay my treatment made it worse. I also called to have my medical records faxed. A week later I called to confirm to see if they have faxed it and they lost the fax number. I am seriously ill & don't think I have the patience to be making sure they can handle my information so I'm switching doctors. read more

This my second appointment with Dr. Ali and I adore him. I was in so much back and leg pain and he is so kind and is a brilliant neurologist. He has a sense of humor which I greatly appreciate. Well, I took my Mother to see this Dr. I'll keep this short and simple ...if I can. He doesn't have a bed side manner, there is no concern what so ever... he poked or stuck my mother 4 times in her back and 7+ times in her leg with a needle didn't use alcohol said " oh so your a bleeder" to check for nerve damage I know there are tests to be done but please. I have been to many acupuncturist and there is a proper way to insert needles and well as specific locations Her siatica, sorry for the spelling is hurting her now since yesterday, it hasn't bothered her for over 2 years. shes having a hard time walking but he never even watched her walk. you get the idea ... read more

I visited this office around September 2015, after having a headache for 3 months straight. Dr. Ali was great he ordered a spinal tap for me as a way to see why I had an ongoing headache for so long. after my referral was approved I was told to call Dr. Ali's office so they could schedule my appointment. my appointment was made at the hospital next to their office. the day before my procedure I decided to call the hospital where my spinal tap was scheduled only to find out that they no longer performed the procedure there any longer I was told that Dr. Ali's office was aware that they no longer performed that procedure, if I did not call the hospital I would've shown up and it would've been a waste of my time. that same day I called and spoke to both Maria and Aida and I asked to speak to their office manager I was then told to leave my name and phone number so that the office manager could return my call. Needless to say I never received a call nor an apology. the very next day I called my insurance and filed a complaint. Dr Ali is great but with the the office staff he has I'd have to give him zero stars. read more
