I liked Moink. The meat was Ok. They were always frozen. However, some packages were shorted. But they made it right if I called them. Some packages leaked. Fairly often. I just vacuum sealed them at home. No biggie. HOWEVER! When they changed their website ordering process to MANDATE what I buy, that was it! Seriously! The cart would not let me check out unless I added an item from a group of items that we simply don't consume! The utter arrogance was too much. I complained. They hung up on me! I protested...They cancelled my account!!!!!! It's too bad. For them. I would have just kept ordering and gifted the undesirable item to a friend or neighbor. I have happily moved on to another meat service and still my mind is boggled by Moink's lack of respect for a (formerly) long standing customer. read more

I've been a customer for years - I can't recall how many, but definitely before Shark Tank. I think people need to consider what it is they're after when deciding whether to subscribe to the service.... If you see and understand how inhumane corporate farming is to animals and farmers, that may be enough to subscribe (like I did). Yes, the meat is very good (especially the chicken, ground beef and bacon), but the main reason I choose to continue my subscription is Moink's mission - supporting small farms who are committed to keeping their animals as comfortable and cared for as possible from birth to slaughter. Not only does that make the meat taste better, but it makes me feel less guilty when I consume it. The commercial on Sirius years ago described Moink as a company for tender-hearted carnivores... UPDATE (7/1/25): Spoke with a member of Moink team today. We reviewed the circumstances of my issue and were unable to resolve the matter. I will be using my local grocery store. OLD REVIEW: I have been a Moink customer from May 2024-June 2025. I recently discontinued their service because every month had become increasingly limiting on my selections. Moink's products are good, and they shipped quickly. I attempted to discuss this matter with their customer service, but they didn't seem to understand. I was essentially told that I know what I signed up for. I considered that they sometimes have products unavailable. But this was almost my entire order! I could only swap two items for things I like to eat. The other selections were not anything that I usually cook. I signed up for a monthly box with the promise of filet mignon "forever," as long as I have my subscription. I primarily ordered steaks, and they were mediocre, but acceptable. The price was high, and a friend in the industry told me that it was too much, but that I was not being ripped off, wholesale, so I kept my subscription going. My most recent monthly box arrived, and it did not have the filet mignon that was promised to me "forever." I called Moink, and I let them know that they had failed to send the filet mignon, as promised. They apologized, but told me it wasn't "worth it" for them to send me a single steak to make up for THEIR MISTAKE. When I pointed out that this was a bad business practice, to prioritize and publicly declare their bottom line was more important than their customers (and their failure to meet their obligations to their customers), they just continued to tell me that "it wasn't worth it" for them to send me that single steak that they owed me. With a clear understanding of how Moink treats their customers, I am mediately canceled my membership. Never again. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. read more

I have been a customer since 2021. I have tried every one of their offerings. For my family of 4, my monthly box is $159/month. It's been the exact same price for 4 years now. The options I have for swaps work really well for me. Every now and them I will add more If I have a family event or there is an exceptional special. The options are wide enough to help you handle a family on a budget. I am a big fan of the thick cut bacon. The steaks aren't what you'll find in a Roots Steak house, but they are good and quiet acceptable. The Pork Shoulders are great for a crock pot and the chicken is exceptional. Remember these are family farms raising the meat ethically, no hormones or anti-biotics. I write this because as a 4 year customer I think I can speak honestly and completely about a service that goes against the corporate farming grain. I'd say everyone should, at a mimimum, try a few months and see how it works for the family. read more

I started ordering from Moink before the pandemic. I am so happy I was an established customer when we had to stay at home. Moink is a subscription meat service. They have set boxes you can customize. The meat is shipped frozen to you via FedEx. It comes packed in dry ice. Even though I am in So. Cal., which is a ways from Missouri, everything I received has been frozen solid. The meat is humanely raised. The cows get to eat grass in a pasture, the chickens are not crowded into pens wing to wing, pigs get room to wallow, and salmon are wild. The customization works well. If there is something you don't want or need, you can sub that item for something else of similar value. For example if you don't want a sirloin steak, you can sub it for two packages of chicken thighs. It seems like everything works out in the end. The ribeye steaks are great. They are 10-12 ounces, so I usually cook two to feed the family of four. The meat is rich, so a smaller portion is very satisfying. The chicken wings and thighs are very meaty and taste great. The pork breakfast sausage is some of the best I have ever had. I don't know what happened with the negative reviews. I had a shipment where they substituted something but did not inform me. I contacted Moink, and they gave me a credit on my next shipment. I was very satisfied with their fix to my issue. Moink isn't cheap. We get a medium box once per month. Cost is $159. The medium box will last a month, but we are not eating Moink products every day. Seems like it comes out to $10-15 per pound for a mix of meat that lasts a month. Not bad. I would like to see them offer more large cuts like roasts and ribs so I can throw some Moink on my smoker. Recommended. read more

Service started off great, then I began missing an item three months in a row. After more than five emails and them accusing me of switching my order, they admitted the items where not put in the boxes. Also, your box remains the same price if you substitute chicken breast (2) for chicken thighs which is less in weight and cheaper in price according to their price list. I understand it's a new company, but don't accuse the customer of lying when your trying to build your brand. First it took several days longer to arrive, which meant the ice was gone and the meat was halfway defrosted. We had to cook it up all at once, which was an expensive BBQ. The roast was so full of gristle that we could not chew it and had to feed it to the dog. The bacon is strips of fat and small . . . once it is cooked up it disappears into nothing. We cooked the chicken several ways and none of it came out well. The steaks were small, but we ate them. Our local grocer has better steaks at a lower cost per pound. I did get them to stop my subscription, I I fume each time I hear their ad on the radio. read more

This place is very scary, the website is very confusing and after I contacted customer service for info on how to remove food that we don't eat from being delivered, well low and behold my next shipment arrived with the dry ice bag completely depleted some 24 to 36 hours (or 5 days) after the life of the dry ice which is according to the website good for 3 to 4 days. This is consistently the best meat products we get. We live in San Francisco, where poor food is in very short supply, and we long ago settled on organic, locally raised grass-fed meats as the only kind we'd buy. We have a great butcher just down the street! I grew up in Moink's part of the country and all of the meat my mom bought came from local farmers -- clean, pasture-raised, humanely treated, and downright delicious. I don't know why, but Moink's are better. Every meal we exclaim over the extraordinary flavor of the meat from Moink's. I would give up my Costco subscription and my trip to the local butcher before I'd drop Moink's. At an average of $10/lb, this is a better deal than anything comparable. I have been receiving Moink shipments for several months now. I LOVE the meat! I raised my children on a farm and this meat is absolutely wonderful. Their whole chicken has the whitest meat and so very tasty. I just got a fresh turkey for Thanksgiving and it is amazing! There is a definite taste difference between fresh meat and processed store bought meats. There is absolutely no comparison and once you have enjoyed fresh good meat, you will never want anything else. There service is adjustable so that you can get shipments weekly or up to 8 weeks apart. ( I do this because there is just two of us now.) Besides the packages you can also add "extras" from their shop. I love the fresh pork sausage that they seasoned. Biscuits and gravy never tasted so good! There is no contract so you can cancel at anytime, but not sure why you would. And their customer service is great! Check it out for yourself. You won't be sorry. We have come to count on our Moink steaks and bacon. My husband is crazed over the bone in ribeye and my sons and I go for the filet mignon - flash fried in a cast iron skillet with butter and steak seasoning - and then put into the oven for another few minutes to cook the inside to a perfect pink. I've seen people complain about prices - but honestly - if we were to buy this amount of meat at our local Ralphs, the cost would be similar - AND with Moink, we know where our meat is coming from! read more

I find the service to be awesome. Now II don't have to go to the mad house in the grocery store and I know my meat is humanly treat animals, which is a must for me. My trust in how the animals were handle sold in a grocer is questionable. When I asked about how the animals were processed, Moink staff clearly explained what they do which was a relief to me. Now why did I gave 4 stars: the portions sizes are so large I cannot finish all of the meat or fish in 1 serving. So I have leftovers galore in my frig. LOL my cats sure want to help me eat my helpings. For example, the French ribeye steak ended up being three helpings same with the salmon. The chicken pieces ( anyone of them came to 2-3 helpings. So I (individual eater) could get less food or smaller helpings. I may have to donate some of the food to our local shelter. That's seem a good way to go. For our first order, we ordered the standard non-pork moink box. It arrived today with mostly pork and bacon. I emailed them to cancel all future orders, and their response was that we should donate the pork. Obviously, donation is a great idea. Just not sure why they wouldn't also suggest refunding us the cost of the pork as well. read more

If you review your box and make changes before the week that it ships it automatically triggers an order for shipment that week. That is how it was explained to me by their representative. If it's not reviewed and changed during the regular week of billing you do not get a duplicate of your previous order THEY pick what you get. In my case 1.08 lbs chicken breast, .87 lb bone in chicken thighs, 2 lbs pork sausage. 2 lbs beef hamburger,1 lb stew meat, 2 lbs short ribs and a chuck roast (hamburger meat not ground) for $159.00 Four of the items I had never ordered before.
