I am giving 2 stars for order accuracy and timeliness of receiving the food. However, this was one of the most disappointing meals from a locally-owned restaurant that I've had recently. I ordered a "loaded" roast beef sandwich, and paid to upgrade to a Philly with peppers and onions. I also upgraded to the district chips and dip. I ended up throwing it in the trash it was so disappointing. For $15.24, the sandwich had no cheese, the roast beef portion was very small and the meat was super dry. It was quite a departure from the description of "marinated and slow roasted beef, PILED HIGH with melted provolone." The onions and peppers I paid extra for were abysmal - maybe 2 slivers of each. Additionally, the district chips and dip I upgraded my side to were terrible - the chips were chewy and stale and cheese (while flavorful) was congealed. read more

Decided to stop for some lunch and grab a cupcake. We waited over 30 minutes for our food to be delivered to our table from when we paid. The Greek flatbread sounded good but ended up being pretty basic even though the price was $9. I expected more flavor for that high of a price point. A wonderful downtown experience. Extensive breakfast & lunch menu, bottomless coffee cup--and all sorts of other drinks (non-alcoholic). The service is very good--efficient, courteous, non-intrusive (I don't like waiters coming over every minute to ask me how I'm doing). Good prices for the good food. Krazy Cakes attracts people downtown and enriches the neighborhood. I should mention that there's also a good take-out service. Plenty of parking. We ordered our son's first birthday and smash cake here. It was an extremely simple, small 3 tier round cake serving 12. It was 90% white fondant with 3 colors coming into play with a 1, his name and a neck tie. Not much opportunity to mess it up, right? First, the cake was frozen upon pick up and tilting precariously despite being under 10" tall. Second, it was obviously decorated by a toddler at best. The fondant was extremely thick, wrinkly and tasted terrible. The above mentioned fondant decorations were covered in white powder and left with ragged edges. Third, we were charged $140. After thawing and upon serving the cake it was discovered to be freezer burnt and crumbled like sand. No one ate more than a bite. I reached out to the owners twice. Once by phone and once in person with the cake in tow. I was told someone would contact me to address the issue. No one ever did. read more

WOW! Got an invitation to write a review as soon as we sat down after ordering. Have gone to KC many times for breakfast but first time for lunch today. My husband ordered the Lotza Bacon BLT. It had 1 1/2 strips of bacon on it and one slice of tomato that was thinner than his chips in the bagged chips. He was very disappointed since the description of the sandwich was listed as bacon, lettuce, tomato and MORE bacon. I had the Pecan Strawberry Chicken Salad. It too, did not have everything as listed...no avocado. The pretzel roll that came with my salad was very hot and very good. Disappointing lunch. read more

I've really grown to love this place. Way too often I crave one of their iced coffee drinks - the Carmanilla & the Turtle are favorites! They're so delicious, more so a tasty treat than coffee tasting though. But I've never found an iced coffee type drink I enjoy anywhere besides Starbucks, but I LOVVEE these! The outdoor seating has really become a favorite spot to meet up with friends as well - plenty of space and covered really well. Also love their hot coffee! Great options. Very poor customer service- can't comment of the food because we were never served any!!! We ordered at 10:15 am with one other couple in the entire place, couldn't pay with a credit card, then waited for 45 minutes and finally asked about our food. Told us she thought we already ate! Manager(?) came out and apologized without explanation and refunded our money stating our food was "started". We didn't wait to find out. CUPCAKES: Make less boring pastries and more "KRAZY" cupcakes!!! I came in on Friday lunch because I was told you had a huge variety. Four flavors is a poor, poor variety. Plenty of frozen (yeah its obvious) boring turnovers and scones and cookies. You can get those anywhere. Maybe you sold out so make more cupcakes! That's what I came in for = something non-Walmart! LUNCH: The Crazy Montey is my favorite! The idea of blackberries on a grilled sandwhich was wierd but I am so glad the young lady talked me into trying it. So far It's always been 5 stars. Their iced coffee is always made perfect by each staff member thus far. Lunch was great, unfortunately we had to scoot out rather quickly as they close at 2pm and we came for late lunch. Having cake made for mid July so I'll update after that. However, I have tasted their cake before and it's so good. (I'm one that can actually "pass" on cake, so that should tell you a lot) I've had a delicious cream pie. (I think it was key lime) it's been awhile back, so I can't remember the flavor but I do remember it was a huge piece and I ate it all! Also cute items to buy in there. One of the nicest, little pastry, bakery and sandwich shops I have been to in a long, long while. The roast beef on Cibata, with a side of potato salad was served hot, and the jus was very flavorful. While the beef was very tender and good the secret of the success is not the georgeous pastry, or magnificent cakes made to order, but the potato salad. When I return, all I am going to order is a big bowl of the potato salad, cold with a ton of bacon in it. Really wonderful. The breakfast menu was intriguing. When the chef (probably the owner) brought our food out (very promptly) he noticed that our table had a wobble, the owner got down on his knees and adjusted the caster so the table did not wobble. I love cupcakeries and have been to several in Kansas City and St. Louis. One of my favorite summer cupcake is always the Strawberry Lemonade, so I thought how could I go wrong? 1. The cupcake size is not any larger than a normal cupcake. 2. The Rosy Chicken is the best sandwich on the menu. Quite awesome! A little pricey, but you kinda expect that at an indie trying to make their way, plus they are a specialty place so they have a little more ability to get away with charging a bit more. The only reason my star rating went down one is cause they changed up the Rosey, not chunking up all the ingredients anymore, leaving the tomato whole and the chicken sliced instead of diced. It changed the way the sandwich eats and I preferred the other way. Kinda one of those "if it ain't broke" kinda things. It was perfect the way it was! Don't mess with it! :) My family got the roast beef and turkey sandwiches. They were a little lite on meat. They visit from out of town and have decided that for the price and what they get, they'd prefer to eat elsewhere and just stop in for the muffins that they love. I am too addicted to the Rosey to do the same. I think this place is worth the effort to keep in business. I'd like to see them succeed. read more
