Adorable spot to pick out some new plant babies. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, happy to answer questions. Little gem hidden in an unlikely spot ... but I love to see things like this off the beaten path

Love the pics but weren't for sale ;(

This was certainly a fun find. My friend Donna had been wanting to show us this new plant shop so we (the gym gang) got together on a Saturday morning and headed down to explore. This place is located just past the Neon Museum on a street called Searles. Easy to find and street parking available. The owner is Norm Schilling (long time Horticulturist and educator) and Andrea Ching (California and Nevada Landscape/ Interior Designer). Together they have opened a helpful and educational plant nursery. There are so many plants to choose from between succulents, house plants, larger plants for outdoors, and all kinds of plant accessories. All of their plants have been selected for growing and living in our harsh, desert climate. They have only been open since March of this year, and have plans for hosting workshops in the future. They both possess a ton of knowledge on plants and their care. Inside the warehouse, there is a seating area that is so inviting amongst all the plants. We all gathered for a group picture here. We all purchased something from this store as we love to support small business. I bought a lovely pot, a new plant and gardening gloves that I needed. I know I will be returning here in the future for more plants or supplies. Glad you have opened up Mojave Bloom!

Went today and can say it's the best nursery in the Vegas valley! (Been to almost all of them.) I spent an hour here and it was overwhelming in the best way possible - good amount of outdoor and indoor plants, pottery, accessories, etc. Also a good mix of common plants and more unique options. Plants were very reasonably priced. Customer service was A+ as well, I can rave on and on about our experience and very well worth the drive from Henderson. We'll be back!!!

This is a Las Vegas desert nursery and boutique garden shop in a unique setting, both inside and out. So many lovely unusual plant specimens that are not easily found elsewhere. Great additions for yourself or gifts for friends and family! Don't see what you want? Ask, and they will find what will satisfy your landscape dreams! The three owners: Horticulturist Norm Schilling, Landscape Designer Andrea Ching, and Wellness Practitioner Miriamah Saba have curated desert adapted, drought tolerant landscape plants, gorgeous pots of all colors, shapes, sizes, and finishes, houseplants, and unique home and garden decor. They also are hosting various hands on classes so call them for their schedules and if you have a burning desire to learn something new and it's not listed, they will take suggestions! Norm Schilling is a force to be reckoned with, with his incredible history as Southern Nevada's very storied horticulturist. He is also owner of Schilling Horticulture Group and co-host of KNPR's "Desert Bloom", and will be giving talks/presentations on Saturdays. Call ahead for his schedule as it is subject to change. I went to the soft opening and at first glance thought, why in this out of the way part of town? And then realized their very determined effort to help regenerate the neighborhood, with their great passion for balance not just in nature, but for the heart and soul of where they live. And that starts by being a good neighbor, by uplifting the status quo. I know the people in the neighborhood welcome this new addition and so do I. It's up to all of us to support them as it elevates our incredible city and its people. #LasVegasStrong

Finally!!! THIS is the nursery we've all been waiting for here in Vegas. A very cool, locally owned, women run (and owned?), Vegas specific plant and lifestyle spot! And close to downtown might I add, which has been desperately needed. The difference here is that they cultivate plants that will actually survive here in Vegas. Our soil, our water and our climate are so different from other areas and other deserts, so it really takes a special curation of plants that will do ok here and not make all of us feel like plant serial killers. I mean, don't you hate it when you go to one of those bigger nurseries or hardware stores and just get something because it looks good and then it dies a slow and painful death? The great thing here is that the people working here know SOOOO much about what they are selling and teach you how to take care of your plants! They also have tons to buy for planters, gifts and housewares. The CUTEST pots and planters both indoor and outdoor big and small. They have big plans for hang outs and workshops and deserve all of our local support. The prices are super reasonable too! You will not pay more here than you will at the big box stores, so why not support our local plant heros? They are located in between Washington and Lake Mead and LV Blvd and Bruce, next to the Anderson Dairy. You can park in the lot next door. A very cool spot with cool people.

I haven't seen her in a minute so we caught up for a bit. Her store is looking even better than ever! She has so many plants to offer and the best is these are all plants that can exist and live in the Vegas weather. She also has some fun hats, journals, pins, etc. There's seriously so many things to check out here. Even tarot cards, which is so fun! I got two little plant babies that hopefully I won't kill. The prices are great, and she told me how to take care of it and said I didn't even need to water it for a bit. Which I love haha. Definitely recommend supporting this local business especially if you're a plant lover! The plants I've bought from here before lasted yearssss and only recently died cuz I moved them to a new spot (my fault!).

...Have you ever felt like someone was lying before they finished their sentence?…read more Standing in the back area of Star Nursery on Ann, I needed to look Janet in the eyes while she denied responsibility. Her voice... calm, confident, and practiced. To anyone who hadn't done their own research, it probably sounded believable. I had already connected too many dots. What unsettled me wasn't merely the inconvenience. I could tell she recognized me as I approached. My motive was to congratulate her successful ploy. I asked the 3 ladies, Janet clearly the senior voice among them, about soil recommendations. As I listened and observed, I realized this was bigger than soil. Months earlier, I came to the nursery looking for guidance. I'd called the day before to confirm that someone could assist me in repotting a plant. Like many people, I trusted the expertise of Janet who seems to have spent years in this profession. That trust mattered. The younger staff members were immediately helpful. A tall gentleman who'd been planting strawberries and a younger woman tending the booth, didn't hesitate. Then Janet approached. She seemed concerned what they were helping with and quickly let me know, "We don't repot plants here." "Forgive me beloved. I wouldn't be here had I not called last evening to confirm first." I told her. Perhaps that was the straw, but who knows. What I do know, is Janet isn't a fan of self watering pots. I learned this as she instructed the young man to put holes in the bottom of the pot (which eliminates the intended functionality and would later create a mess in my living room) I implore you to ask her perspective on these pots if you'd like to confirm the accuracy of this testimony. The soil she recommended became the center of a problem that spread throughout my home. Fungus gnats appeared in overwhelming numbers. Soon it wasn't just a gardening issue. My wife noticed them. My children noticed them. Every room became a battleground against insects that multiplied faster than we could eliminate them. Hours were lost. Money was spent. Frustration became routine. The problem extended beyond plants and pots. It disrupted our home and our peace. Have you ever swallowed a fungus gnat? How about been interrupted by some while you have dinner and watch Netflix? How about waking up to one on your face? This was a foresaw reality Janet knew would come. When I returned seeking answers, I didn't expect professionalism. Maybe false concern at best or even accountability. Instead, I witnessed what happens when expertise stops serving customers and starts protecting itself. Experience is valuable, but without accountability, other perspectives get dismissed and customer service fades into the background. The signs aren't always dramatic. Sometimes they appear in small moments: The shrug. The dismissal. The refusal to acknowledge another person's experience. As I left the nursery, I wasn't angry. I was clear. The real loss was never the money, the soil, or even the months spent fighting the infestation. It was the realization that broken trust is far harder to restore than damaged plants. That's the lesson I carried home. Businesses grow through reputation. Relationships grow through honesty. Expertise earns respect only when it is paired with accountability. Without those things, confidence becomes arrogance, and experience becomes little more than a shield against criticism. Whether this situation resulted from poor judgment, bad information, or something else is for management to determine. My responsibility is different. My responsibility is to share this testimony, learn from it, and encourage others to pay attention. Character reveals itself clearly when something goes wrong. Not in the sale. Not in the promise. In the response. A noticeable observation was how the other staff responded. The least experienced staff member noticed what was happening and became quiet. Seemingly as to stay in line of Janet's authority. The other, simply agreed with Janet by default. I believe this to be how she protects job security. There's a disease breeding in this establishment. Staff might be afraid to speak when they see something wrong. I'm not.

My overall experience at Star Nursery was good while I was shopping, and I found what I needed…read more However, I did have a frustrating experience during checkout. When I went to pay, I tapped my card and the transaction went through. Right after that, the cashier said she forgot something and canceled the order. It appeared that an item may not have been rung up, but instead of explaining the situation and asking how I wanted to handle it (for example, doing a separate transaction or adding the item), the transaction was canceled. The issue is that the money had already been taken out of my account. I was then expected to pay again while waiting for the original charge to "fall off" the next day. While the cashier and manager both explained that it would correct itself, that doesn't help in the moment when the money is still out of your account. For me, customer service is about communication. If the cashier had simply paused and explained the situation clearly instead of talking with coworkers and canceling the transaction without explaining, it would have made the situation much smoother. Shopping there was fine, but the checkout experience that day could have been handled much better.
