Take my advice and go someplace else. We spent $2500 on a tree, and followed the written care instructions to the letter. We went through more gallons of "Moon Juice" than I can count. We've been watering every three days. Three years later, the tree is struggling to stay alive, and hasn't grown any bigger. Recently, by coincidence, Moon Valley happened to "have an arborist in our area," and would we like a free evaluation of our tree and yard? Yes, we would. After the expert got done telling me that the tree needed 25 gallons of water a day...considerably more than the instruction sheet called for, and after I expressed my profound disappointment in the place, he told me all about how the people at the nursery are...and I'm quoting here..."just sales guys." Meaning that they didn't really know much about trees, and just wanted to complete a sale. Well, that doesn't exactly help the situation, does it? We relied on our "just a sales guy" to provide accurate information about caring for our new $2500 worth of tree. Seeing the tree in distress, I put four deep watering stakes in the ground, around the tree, an addition that was not even mentioned by Moon Valley. I was trying very hard to get this tree to grow well. It's not like we're negligent customers - far from it. We've been very diligent about following the required watering amounts, as described on the paperwork. Moon Valley is the expensive nursery in Vegas, compared to, you know, the other place. The Star Nursery place. Moon Valley presents themselves as the premier nursery, with a higher quality product, and a higher level of expertise. Don't you believe it. As proof, I have this visit from the expert guy, who, despite his effort to distance himself from the sales guys, was wearing a Moon Valley company shirt. His advice, which amounted to a confession of incompetence on the part of the company, was a real eye-opener. Oh - he also recommended cutting off all the branches that had died. Thanks, expert. Something else you need to know - they say "free" tree planting, and their trucks all have "You Buy It, We Plant It" on the sides. Well, the planting is free, but the transportation of your tree from the nursery to your house will cost extra. A lot. Surprise. No free delivery. "Tree Expert's" visit was meant to upsell us into more product. It had the opposite effect. We're not spending another dollar at Moon Valley. read more

We have been working with Kevin at the west charleston moon valley to design our yard for the past 6 months. Kevin was really helpful in designing our landscaping and we went back and fourth about ideas and took alot of different factors into account like our shade and privacy goals. We weren't sure what we wanted yet and We changed our order durastically a few times and Kevin was able to substitute things. They came out to look at the layout and made suggestions too. I had a poor experience with their tree maintenance service. They have outsourced this from their local nurseries. You cannot contact them. Their local stores cannot contact them. They scheduled my service - but not when i wanted them to come so i could be there, but when they wanted to show up. The service window is 10 hours wide: 7 am to 5 pm, which is never tolerable to a customer. They texted me they were on their way- from a number i can't reply to. They did not document what they performed - no text, no email. Nothing. Had to search online to reach their corporate offices. Their website says they value customer service. They do not appear to want the hear or have contact with their customers. read more

We had a 30-foot, water-thirsty tree in our front yard that was causing problems and needed to be replaced with something that could handle the desert and meet HOA standards. I like the location. It used to be a different nursery with birds and tortoise habitat prior to Moon Valley. The birds and tortoise are no longer here. It's a nice place to walk around and browse. There is a nice selection of plants. I get the impression that their priority is to get customers to contract landscaping jobs with them (large purchases) versus just sell plants to the public. There are a limited supply of vegetable starters located at the entrance. There is a humidity controlled plant room to the left of the entrance. Soils and ammendments to the right of the entrance. Customer service has been helpful and personable each time I've visited. read more
