We were the only people in the restaurant for a late lunch. We had the sangria pitcher, and they made mango lassies for my kids. We had the family of 4 meal. You get to choose 4 curries and it comes with basmati rice, samosas, naan, pappad, and gulab jamun. Holy cow! So good! Even my kid said he couldn't.mr believe this place was empty because it was so delicious! For curries-we had chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, shrimp curry, and paneer mahkani. It was so refreshing to come upon a locally owned restaurant amid the abundance of restaurant chains down the main strip of Niagara Falls. The food here and the chai tea were excellent! The ambiance is romantic and warm, and the service is not rushed. We got the moksha curry with chicken on the recommendation of the server which was some of the best and most flavorful curry I've had. We also got aloo gobi which was delicious as well. This place had delicious food, wonderful service and was nice enough to stay and enjoy that atmosphere for awhile as well. We left the restaurant stuffed and the cost of the meal was completely reasonable -- and way under the surrounding prices. Since all the food was very good to great, you really can't go wrong. The Loaded Fries were absolutely amazing --so frikkin delicious. Don't know what they put in them but wow, they tasted better than they looked and they looked pretty great. One of my regrets was we didn't make it back to the restaurant to order them again! We were a little hesitant go based on the other reviews on yelp --but as far as I could tell, they were written by the local competition as this place nailed our meal. Some of the best Indian food I've had. The dishes had a good heat to them, not too spicy, and were seasoned well. The meat was tender and not overcooked. Good size portions. My only minor complaint is that we ordered five different dishes - saag paneer, two lamb dishes, and two chicken dishes, and nothing was labeled. I really enjoyed one of the lamb dishes and would like to order again but I'm not sure which one it was as all sauces were similar color. We got takeout and it was ready on time. The restaurant looked clean and was nice inside. A nice break from the burger and fry / American restaurants that are abundant on Clifton Hill. read more

I'm a non-vegan in a house full of vegans(fiancée and two daughters) so we always have to find vegan options when traveling. This was the what looked to be the best option. It just felt dirty from the very start. Upon opening the door and waiting on someone to greet us, a young man approached with a white shirt. The shirt was so dirty on the front, like crazy dirty. I'm not judgy but that is a horrible look for treating customers at a restaurant. It also didn't help that it was hot in the restaurant, not sure what was up with their AC but it was 89 degrees outside so maybe they ran into an issue. Back to feeling dirty, the bottom of the walls was way darker then the rest of the walls. I know it's not supposed to be like that but don't know why it was like that. I hope it doesn't have anything to do with water or moisture. The food was alright...I guess. It was hard to eat noticing this other issues. The head vegan happened to loose her appetite so there's that. The place could use a deep clean. I still wouldn't come back but maybe I'd read the reviews after. read more

So far one my favorite Indian restaurants. Enough to make me write my first Yelp Review. The ambiance is nice and calming. Decorations are not overwhelming but humbling to someone like me who is new to the culture. Complements to the server Jay who provided good service to the party and helpful clarification. To begin with drinks the Old Delhi Fashioned is a must try for alcoholic beverage. Aroma is pleasant and taste is alittle sweet but not too overwhelming. Kashmiri Kava is a pleasant tea that was my first time trying. The butter chicken was delicious. Although I would have liked alittle more meat, I did not mind the extra silky texture and milky taste which was refreshing to the palates. The butter Naan had a good balance of butter and was not dry as I've previously had at some places. I could go on but overall I would gladly come back 9.5/10 but 5 stars hands down. read more

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the pani puri, samosa chaat and chicken Methi masala and I definitely wasn't disappointed. Even as a takeout order the proportions were generous for the price and was packed with flavour (and spice!!) the staff was so inviting and the restaurant was clean and very welcoming. We stopped by Moksha earlier this week for dinner and so glad we did! We were seated a couple of moments after entering, and tended to a few minutes afterwards. We've heard a lot about this place, and it definitely lives up to the positive reviews! We ordered the Pani Puri (which was spicy but so addicting), Paneer Tikka (appetizer) and the Paneer Tikka Masala (main) with a garlic naan and basmati rice. The presentation was beautiful for each dish-- delicious and totally insta worthy! For drinks we ordered the Mumbai Mule and a spicy pineapple Margherita (don't remember the name)-- both were really, really good and downed within minutes! Apart from the food, the service is also incredible. The servers are attentive and polite, and you can tell how much love and effort goes into each dish from the chef! Although we didn't have enough room for dessert since it was just the two of us, we enjoyed everything that was brought out and will definitely return! Ordered takeout, took a fish gravy, Naans and Chicken tika kabob. I actually ordered chicken tandoori, but they gave us a Chicken Tikka, I think microwaved or reheated, tasted stale. Fish gravy was good. Naans become too hard to break or bite. You can try ones. read more

There's ample selection of Indian food in Niagara Falls (Ontario or New York), but Moksha stands out for a single reason: it has a separate vegan menu available on request. We started with the vegetable pakora (C$7) and liked it. It's savory, has a great lentil breading texture and comes with a a spicy green dipping sauce. The methi aloo (C$15) was pretty good, but comes in a small portion. That said, it seems like most restaurants on the Canadian side of the Falls give you less food. What's interesting about this dish is the ample use of fenugreek (methi) which I don't see as often as I'd like in Indian restaurants. The kalongi bengan (C$16) was also good, with nicely roasted eggplant. I didn't like the raisins in it, though. Lastly, we also had a mashed mango cocktail (C$10), which we modified to have soda instead of Sprite. It was delicious---refreshing, light and creative. The service here is friendly and the decor and ambiance are much classier than most restaurants in Niagara Falls, which seem to be either dive-y or bar-and-grill tourist traps. read more

Good food, but there was a very foul mushy smell when you enter the restaurant, restroom's were not labeled, it was confusing. There was only one restroom with Women written on the door!! So we all took turn at the bathroom. And the most important for any restaurant, there were fruit flies present everywhere!!! The appetizer (Paneer Tikka) was amazing! I also always order Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala at every Indian restaurant because it's one of my favorite things. They knocked it out of the park and it was delicious. We also ordered two biryanis, the chicken and the lamb. It felt like it was missing some salt and that fried onion taste that usually comes in Biryani. Wouldn't recommend getting it if you're used to eating a lot of Biryani in your life. The place is really nicely decorated and is perfect for a nice get together. Most of the other Indian restaurants in the area aren't really aesthetically pleasing or decorated for things like a birthday dinner. Most of them are carry out or casual dine in and not that special inside. This place had hanging lanterns, wall art and their waiters even wear orange traditional Kurta outfits. The cons: Other than the disappointing biryani, our service was almost nonexistent. This was my third visit to Moksha Indian Bistro. I've looked forward to going to Moksha since I visited it last year. The renovations at the front seem to be complete, and the place looks fantastic. The service was very good, the music was lively and the food came out pretty quick. I had the Moksha Chicken Curry, a cucumber salad, and I also another chicken dish. They had an extensive menu also offering gluten free and vegan options. The food on previous visits to Moksha was in the top ranks of all of the Indian food I have ever eaten. Today, I did not enjoy the food as much. The flavours appeared to be off, and the Moksha curry tasted more like the sauce had been burned. It wasn't, but it was very strong and difficult to get through. I did not finish it. It had cardamoms in it, but they were hard to taste as well. The other chicken dish I had was different from last time as well. It was smothered in fenugreek, but this time the flavour was different. It was more salty and did not have the "want to eat more" appeal to it that I experienced on previous visits. The staff was great, and the place was very clean, and the presentation was really over the top, but something was off. I wasn't sure if it was me at first, but it wasn't. I will give it a try again the next time I visit Niagara Falls. I'm hoping it was just an off day, as my previous visits I would rated them a 5 easy! read more

Excellent Indian bistro in Niagara Falls which is otherwise full of cheesy, mediocre chains (though I love Applebees!). We had the soups (awesome!), then some butter chicken and dhaal with rice, which were also very good, and some beers to go with it (reasonably priced for niagara). The decor was very laid back and the service was attentive (though the waiter was wearing his puffy parka the entire time, but it was cold that day in niagara). Bathrooms are below and not heated (brrrrr) and there are some function rooms there as well. Overall I think this is the best place in Niagara, maybe not at par with the top places in the GTA but amazing quality for the tourist trap Niagara Falls. read more

Very good food and service. It was dead when we came in at around 6pm which was weird at first, but it started to get busy while we were there and loys of takeout orders were also being serviced. Very much felt like a family operation and that they were proud of their stuff. We lobed everything we got, from drinks to apps (samosas and chicken dumplings) to mains (chicken tikka, saag paneer, vindaloo). Very resonable prices too. It's kind of in a weird location being close but not on the Clifton Hill main area and it seems this area is rebuilding overall (Imax is gone, daredevil museum is demolished etc). We thought it was a great meal though before heading further down to Clifton Hill, so hope this helps someone else too. read more

The food is good but the service is not, had to ask for salt two times before we complained since they forgot, had to get water ourselves and did not come and check up on us. Bathrooms also had poop stains and the sink did not work as well when we went to use it. Asked for a lemon and they gave us lemon juice in a bowl.. which is not traditional for an Indian restaurant. Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday!! I step in there and see a large tour group had occupied nearly 3/4th of the restaurant. There were only 2 servers and both were busy attending those guests. We got seated and kept waiting for someone to look at us, serve water, give plates etc. I look at another couple seated across me and they weren't being attended either! I guess Moksha prioritizes large groups over small parties! I mean why not...its a big business but then, atleast have more servers?? Most items we tried ordering from the lunch menu weren't available. The chai was so watery...surprised to see an Indian restaurant serving this kind of chai! We tried ordering whatever was available from the menu...which eventually did taste good! I believe, if I had gone for dinner or had the large party not been present at the time I went, I would've maybe had a better experience!!! read more

After arriving in Niagara Falls and seeing how crazy touristy it was with all their big name chain restaurants, I was not expecting to find anything decent to eat. A quick yelp search pulled up this place half a mile from our hotel, so we made the trek out in the snow to see what they had to offer. We started out with the veggie samosas (dinner portion comes with 3). They were served with 2 kinds of chutney and a tomato sauce. Best samosas I've had anywhere! And the sauces were amazingly fresh. Boyfriend and I shared a cup of the mulligatawny soup and the Gobhi Mattar. The soup was so flavorful and smooth. I liked the thinly sliced apple on top too. The Gobhi Mattar came as an individual plate and looked fantastic. Everything was spiced to perfection, the rice was cooked perfectly, and the naan was so buttery and fresh. I really think this is the best Indian place I've been to anywhere. If you're in Niagara falls and want some good food away from the main drag, try this place! read more

The food here is excellent! The hubs and I ordered the Moksha Curry and Chicken Tikka Marsala. They were incredible! I was worried at first because when the dishes came out, they looked exactly the same. They ended up having two very distinct tastes and both were delicious. If I had to pick my favorite, it would be the Moksha. The reason I'm only giving 3 stars is because of the service. When we first arrived, we were standing at the top of the stairs and had to wait several minutes to be seated. The hostess completely ignored us when she came around and asked the couple behind us how many were in their party and sat them first. We were clearly in front so that was kind of bizarre. Second, our waiter never showed up. I'm still not sure who was supposed to be our waiter. I had to ask someone if I could order and get some water. We were visiting from out of town and there seemed to be a few Indian restaurants to choose from. As we were walking around, Moksha was close enough and there was no wait. The food was very good, however much spicer than other Indian restaurants in the US. Everyone in my group enjoyed the food, but we did need extra water and naan to balance out all the spices. I love Indian food and after a long trip to the falls, we came here, as it was next door to our hotel. The food is ok at best, the flavors just seemed off on everything. And their default spice level is definitely way too high, and i love spicy. Had the vegetable samosas (didn't know you could get that wrong). Chana masala (also an easy one) had all the wrong spices. My niece, so can generally handle a little spice, couldn't eat much. They also give you a tiny serving of rice, though naan does come with the dish. Also, they accept USD only at a 1 to 1 exchange. After checking out fellow Yelper's reviews, we decided to head over to Moksha. This place couldn't have been more on point. At the time, we were the only diners in the place, so we were promptly seated. The service was not only very friendly, but they also weren't hovering around us - enabling us to enjoy our meals. They gave us the perfect amount of time in between visits; they were there when they were needed, and not there when they weren't. That is something that I appreciate, personally. Starting with the Bhel Puri, each spoonful was cooling with a hint of spice. I could've muscled home a 5-gallon pail of this, but I wouldn't have room for the remainder of delectable edibles had I done so. Next off, the orders of Lamb Vindaloo (with the upgraded saffron rice and garlic naan) and Saag - Lamb Hara Masala. Not a spicy bite was left on either plate; a testament to the wizardry that had taken place in the kitchen. As an added bonus toward my rating of the place, the staff didn't laugh at my girlfriend (well, at least not to her face lol) when she left the table to seek a waiter to ask for some milk, due to her underestimation of a pepper in her meal. Actually, whether they would've chuckled or not, it wouldn't have influenced my rating; the food was that good. After enjoying some chai tea, we paid the bill and walked back to our hotel.
