First of all, these were DoorDash, and still superb. I can't imagine how delectable they would be in hous. I couldn't decide, so I ordered a few things. And they were flavorful, delicious, hearty, and worth every penny. I ordered the fajitas de pollo y bistec (chicken and steak). While the three flour fajitas were found to be lacking for the whole assignment, it's okay--I used the leftover meat (and beans and rice I ordered as a side) to make a lunch plate the next day. A little salty, but mostly well seasoned, moist, and never bland. I also got the burrito de pollo/chicken. I did not eat this immediately, but kept it for lunch the next (TWO!) days. Fat and packed with chicken, pinto beans, cheese, onions, cilantro and salsa, this was filled to the brim with with smoky flavor and a HUGE portion size. The rice and beans were rich, deep, and filling. They have tapas: guacamole, elote, empanadas, tamales, tostadas and more. They have a birria taco platter, sopas, ensaladas, enchiladas, quesadillas of all kinds (chicken, steak, cheese, shrimp, veggie, squash blossoms, corn mushroom). Tacos, chimichangas, burritos of all types of meatiness, chilaquiles, Platos fuertos (all sorts of blends of chiles, nuts, peppers, meats, sauces, etc). And so much more. Based on how great my TAKEOUT was! I can't imagine how amazing it is in house. Would definitely try again and again.

This place is definitely a gem in the Dobbs Ferry area, north of Yonkers! The service was fantastic and the food couldn't taste any better than it did. The spicy passion fruit margarita complimented my steak and fish tacos perfectly. The food was fresh, flavorful and delicious. Stopping here for dinner was a great way to end our summer vacation on the way back home.

Seafood soup

I was excited to try this place my girlfriends recommended for our Saturday night dinner, but it…read morewas disappointing. The pato en mole poblano was described as half a duck, but what I got were two small, dry pieces of duck that were tasteless without the sauce. The waiter insisted it was correct, but it clearly wasn't, and no effort was made to fix it. Service was very slow it took about 20 minutes just to order drinks, and another couple even left after they were seated. The sangria tasted good but had no fruit and our glasses were mostly ice. The guacamole was good! My girlfriend's food was just okay. Nice ambiance, but I'd only return to try their Mexican dishes and expect slow service.

We've had La Chinita Poblana on our radar for quite some time. So, recently, we took the train up…read morefrom Riverdale to Irvington and walked up the hill to check it out. It was quiet inside, which we thought was not a good sign... but, soon enough, we knew we had made a great choice. La Chinita Poblana is quite the gem! To start, we ordered their house margaritas and some nachos (with pastor). We also had their complimentary chips and salsa. The drinks were tasty enough (I ended up ordering a 2nd one later one), but the nachos were off the chain. So yummy! And the dish was huge! After the nachos, we decided on the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce to split. The enchiladas were also super tasty!! I would definitely order these again. Oh, and they came with rice and beans (also tasty). We will definitely be trying La Chinita Poblana again. I'd like to go on a night where there are more patrons next time--maybe for Happy Hour. The place has a fun vibe, and I hear it is more happening on some nights (e.g., Ladies' Night on Thursdays).

First time visiting and it definitely won't be my last! This restaurant has been around for about…read moresix years, and I'll admit I had previously dismissed it because it's located in an outer strip of stores where Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond once were. I truly wish I hadn't--because I was thoroughly impressed with the food, the décor, the service, and the extensive menu. There are so many dishes I want to come back and try. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant impressed us with its vibrant, themed décor and incredibly friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa and glasses of water were brought to our table immediately after we sat down, which was a great start. They have a full-service bar, and while they don't offer frozen cocktails, we honestly didn't miss them. I had a coconut margarita, and my husband enjoyed a passionfruit rum cocktail. He doesn't drink tequila, so I asked if rum could be substituted, and they were more than happy to accommodate. He chose a Tajín rim, while I opted for sugar instead of salt. Both drinks were strong, flavorful, and served in really nice, heavy margarita glasses. We both chose specials from the House Special Grill, and wow--what a great decision. My husband had the skirt steak and jumbo shrimp, served with a creamy corn salsa, and he loved every bite. I ordered the grilled steak with sautéed onions, homemade tortillas, cactus pad (nopales), rice, and beans. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly prepared. We ended the night on a high note with dessert--one of the best flans I've ever had--paired with a glass of hot Mexican coffee. Absolutely delicious. Amazing food, great drinks, welcoming service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The food is top quality and service is excellent. the restaurant is also quite well decorated for such a miniscule place. The only caveat keeping this review from being five stars is the price. Mexican fare is known for being hearty, large portioned and affordable and having now patronized this establishment twice, I can say it is two of the three. The lofty price tag will unfortunately keep me from becoming a regular. Still, it is a nice treat once in a blue moon. Good show, overall. Fare: 5/5 Price: $$$
