We stopped here after picking up 2 bushels of fresh green chilis. It was one of two places open at 4pm on a Tuesday. Nothing impressive, but good to fuel us after a big rain that hit as we got there. If there was an ABC rating it would be a F. No drinks except Mexican bottled sodas. The enchiladas were ok red sauce very good, green no so much. The carne torta was very bland and fries greasy (ordered extra crispy!) If we ever get back to Hatch we will not stop here. There's a burger place that I wanted to try but it was closed (hours Wed-Sun). Next time hopefully. read more

Delicious and very chill. Not crazy busy like the more famous burger joint in town. Plus, Molcajete's has a green chile cheeseburger that is amazing. Service was speedy and so kind. And there's a cool market to visit after you eat. This is my Hatch "go to" place for super delicious food. read more

Delicious chile relleno for which Hatch's chiles are world-famous. This establishment is family-owned and the locals appear to be regular customers. Typical small town cafe with a great reputation. Service was attentive. Take the chips and salsa home. read more

On a road trip, we stopped in for some lunch. We had planned to stop in Hatch for some shopping but this was bonus as it was lunchtime too. This is the place to go! The menu has plenty of options, the heat levels are just right and the service is fire! This is a family business and everyone is participating including their young daughter who was bringing out beverages and piping plates of food. We sat down and took our time deciding what to have. When taking our order, I was able to get my chile relleno Christmas with the red and the green. You know you are in a legit place when they don't ask about a crispy relleno. We asked about different sauces and salsas. Our server described to us a jalapeno salsa that she makes that is smooth and creamy, but she happened to be out at the moment. While we were enjoying our lunch, she came out with a small cup of the aforementioned salsa and it was still steaming from the pan. She whipped up a a batch so we could try it. I have to say it was one of the most delicious things I have tasted. I could have done a bowl of that wonderous substance. This place has been added as a permanent stop for us when going to Hatch. read more

This is a quaint little restaurant with friendly waitresses and good food. The salsa served with the chips and as so good, I would have bought a jar for the trip. I had Cucumber Lemonade and Green Chili Burger w/ onion rings that were absolutely delicious. read more

After driving all day to get to Hatch we were looking forward to some chili rellenos. Unfortunately they didn't have any, they didn't have red chili, and they didn't have green chili. I said ok I'll have chicken tacos. Nope! They didn't have chicken for the tacos. My wife had ordered flautas so I said I'll have that also. They were very dry and tasteless and surprise surprise were made with chicken (same as you would find in chicken tacos)! I will say that the salsa for chips was very good. Door sticks badly. Waitress had to let us in. This place is clean and has decent decor. Some of the food was not available due to short supply and/or spoilage. What we did receive was good but not great. Aqua Fresca was delicious. Waitress was nice and efficient. read more

The food was just okay, but the service was absolutely terrible. We asked for water & she seemed annoyed- came back with 2 bottled waters, no glass or straw or offer at least. Hasd to ask for ketchup twice and was never asked if we wanted anything else to drink. They only want a tip in cash, but can't break a $20 - seems like a strange thing for people who only want cash to not have any - The bathroom had no paper towels or dryer, no one working there smiled. Great little restaurant in downtown hatch. We were too late for the breakfast chilaquiles, so I had beef quesabirria tacos and my wife had the chicken queso tacos. Both were great, and the serving sizes (4 tacos each) could have been shared. Our friend had the agua fresca and the chile burger and said it was also good. We were sent here by one of the chile farmers who spoke only Spanish, and you could tell from the clientele that this is where the locals eat. read more

We were traveling through Hatch and wanted to stop for something that had some green chili in it... even though they sold out of two of the dishes we wanted, this place was phenomenal! Great prices, fantastic food and pretty fast service for freshly made food! read more

The heat index on the green sauce is hot! You sort of have to ramp up to it. But very flavorful. We had the #2 combination (cheese enchilada, beef torta, chile relleno) and had it Christmas tree style (red and green sauces). It was very tasty. The place is small and was very busy at lunch time on a Friday. But the staff was very pleasant and worked very hard to accommodate the patrons. Two thumbs up! read more

Excellent food, service, and clean. We had the chicken flautas and quesabirria tacos. Super flavorful and authentic Mexican food. My only desire was for more chicken in the flautas. The quesabirria was delicious, queso appropriately melted and right amount, the consomme was rich and delicious too. Even the rice and beans were great. Breakfast burrito was inedible. Side of green chili had charred crunchy skin. Red chili bean burrito was also inedible. 20.00 with tip and had to throw them both out. Not sure about the reviews posted here, we had a horrible experience with the burritos, or it's possible the bar for good food is very low. read more

A very well hidden gem in Hatch. We had to ask the store in front how to get to the restaurant but it was well worth the search. My carnitas plate was huge and the meat was deliciously crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Rice and beans and half an avocado were excellent. Great freshly made green salsa, the red was really hot, but they warned me. They also had Mexican Coke (no high fructose corn syrup here) to cut the heat. The chicken fajitas were excellent with awesome caramelized onions and the bell peppers properly charred. At first I thought it was taking a long time... but then when the food came I realized that the fajitas were freshly made and not scooped out of a bin like chain restaurants. This is where the locals eat and I can't wait to go back. read more
