Absolutely our favorite restaurant in Tulsa for any kind of food. My wife is a real Mexican and to her, this is the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Tulsa. The locals seem to think so too judging by the clientele. For enchiladas different than any of the others in Tulsa, order enchiladas rojas (red) with carne (beef) on the side. The enchiladas are made with queso fresco and not cheddar or whatever the chains use. Other dishes we recommended are bistec a la Mexicana, and pozole which they serve every day. read more

This is NOT a TexMex restaurant which is a good thing. I wanted something more authentic. The place looks small and plain form the outside but don't let that make your decision not to eat there. Inside the place looked very good. Very clean and organized. To me, the looks of the interior are important. If the staff keeps the dinner area nice and clean, then that is usually the way they are going to keep the kitchen. I am big on Sanitation being that I have worked in the food service industry for 25 years. Food safety is just as important as food taste. The service was excellent. The waitress made sure we were well taken care of and even though her English was not fluent, there was no misunderstandings when ordering. The Menus were in both English and Spanish but yet easy to read with pictures of the menu items. The food was definitely authentic Mexican as there were items on the menu I had never seen before. The complimentary chips and salsa were great! The salsa was very spicy which made me pleased but if you don't like it very hot, I would ask if they have something more mild. got a burrito and some tacos which were topped differently than the standard TexMex. Personally, I loved the different flavors. Fresh avocado in a taco is brilliant! I choose the marinade pork styled burrito which was excellent and way filling. Plate also came with rice and beans all with great flavors. In short, and excellent meal! Price was pretty good and not too expensive. They do not have free refills on drinks so that is something to consider if you need to drink a lot. You have to go to the register to pay and they take credit and debit cards. They actually have a very nice point of sale system. In summary, this was a very clean place with awesome authentic Mexican food with fantastic service to boot. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat Mexican, but wants to eat something out of the TexMex norm of restaurants! read more

Worse experience ever at a Mexican restaurant. I literally had to argue with the waitress because the plate I had ordered wasn't what I expected to get, she said they will have to charge it anyway or the owner will charge it to her! WOW!!! My plate was literally only eggs and rice. When I asked to talk to the owner, he refused to come out. The waitress just told me I could order something else. I finally got something on. My plate was bland and ended up paying over $10 for just 2 eggs rice and beans (which I had said no beans) I just didn't want to argue anymore and got out of there. From the ouside it may not look like much, but if you let that keep you away you will be missing out on some of the best and most authentic mexican food I've had in Tulsa. They have a large and varied menu that included all the expected options as well as some I haven't seen in Tulsa. They start you with chips and salsa. The salsa has just the right amount of kick to it. I had the enchiladas mole which were excellent, and my husband had the torta which he said was very good. From the exterior, it looks like an old Dairy Queen building from the 70's. On the inside, the first thing one notices is how clean the place looks. The floor looks like it was just polished. It took me a while to figure out the menu in Spanish, but I got there ok. It was only after I ordered that the friendly guy at the register explained they had menus in English and Spanish. :) The service was great and everyone there was very friendly. The prices are also very reasonable. I got an order to go of Chips and Salsa and 2 tacos -- just the basics. They were great!! I wish I had seen Joshua C's photo on here of the nachos first -- I would have gotten those instead. The chips are only okay store bought chips. But the salsa was great -- nice and chunky with fresh tomatoes -- just the way I like it! Great Tacos with some unusual vegetables I've never had on tacos before. Excellent! We went in here to try something new and had no idea what to expect as there weren't any other reviews that we saw. Menus in English and Spanish. We were the only white people here and there was a slight language barrier trying to order but it was well worth it and the food came out perfect. It was more than delicious and the presentation was great. The restaurant was very clean and nice tables in the middle. The restroom was just ok clean. The flavor of the food here is good and very authentic and the menu is HUGE! So many choices it took us like 20 minutes to order. My sister ordered the Molcajete and it was good, all the meat had delicious flavor and sauce was also very good, although I'd rather eat something else next time really. I ordered the 7 Mares soup, and while good, it was not what I was expecting, but that's more my fault. On that, I'd rather try something else as well. The tortillas, though! YUM. Do not get the bread when they ask if you want bread or tortillas - go for the tortillas. read more

It has it's good and bad items. I do not recommend their enchiladas. They were terrible, more like flautas. The chili rellenos are good, when they have them. Most of their food is to spicy. Menudo is not cooked long enough and the meat is tough. Chips were stale. And they charge for everything even a couple of limes. Charged us a extra dollar. read more

Wow! We have both spent time in truly Mexican communities and are quite discerning in using the term "authentic" to describe Mexican food in the US, but this place is quintessentially authentic! The menu is in Spanish and English, though we were the only ones speaking English in the whole joint. It is a sit-down, order from the ridiculously amazing menu place, not order at the counter. And there is beer... Now to the food...holy mother! I had pastor (marinated pork) and carne asada sopes that were nothing short of amazing! Juicy, flavorful and definitely enough for two people! My husband had the large pozole which was unbelievable and a huge bowl! It even had radishes which is the sign of authenticity. The kids (4&6) had the chicken flautas which were also quite good though pretty basic and the Cocktel Campechana (Shrimp & Octopus cocktail) - I have never in my life experienced octopus that was more tender and shrimp that was so perfectly cooked, especially in a cocktail! We are altering our future travel plans and will be driving more than an hour out of our way to be able to eat here every 6 months! read more
