The pickiness and the overwhelming opinions that went beyond safety and code for the age of home overtook the report which made the decision making on the property difficult for the any buyer to decifier. Jim inspected a home for my wife and I. When setting up the inspection the communication from Steel Rhino was clear and easily understood. The fee for the inspection was understood from the onset and the only thing that changed was adding an asbestos test at our request during inspection. Jim was not only on time but early the morning of inspection. He wore a mask during the entire inspection as well as booties to keep the floors as clean as possible. He is extremely organized and knowledgeable and answered a multitude of questions I had. His employee who did the sewer line inspection was very efficient and easy to understand in the video he took of the sewer scope. Make sure to use Steel Rhino Inspections as this is a first class company that takes education and inspections seriously for residential and commercial properties.

Our first inspection by Scott's was excellent. Extremely detailed & in depth. That's why we came…read moreback. The most recent one was a different story. The inspector seemed to gloss over many things & tried to downplay issues without evidence. We were called prior & told our inspector would take only two hours to finish an inspection that normally takes longer -- I think he glossed over many things as a result. Specifics we found after moving in that a visual inspection should have caught: * An interior door on the second floor with visible crack/damage from being forced. The report says interior doors were tested. This one isn't noted anywhere. * Mouse droppings under the kitchen sink -- a cabinet he opened & photographed -- & elsewhere in the home. No mention in the report. We now have an active rodent problem we didn't know about at closing. * The front door handle sticks & fights you when unlocking. Entry door locks & latches are explicitly listed as inspected in his own report. On top of that, three window coverings fell off the wall the first time we pulled the cords. Technically outside inspection scope -- but it speaks to the overall condition of a house we were told had basically nothing wrong with it. The in-person review made it worse. We were told there was basically nothing wrong with the house, & our questions were treated as an inconvenience. He seemed annoyed, arrogant & unkind. When asked, he explicitly said he didn't see evidence of mice -- verbally & on the report -- leading me to believe he was lazy & sped through it. Not characteristics of a great inspector. His own report lists 59 maintenance items & 8 repair recommendations -- so the verbal summary & the written report told two different stories. When I hire an inspector, I'm more impressed by people who are nit picky than forgiving. This is a huge purchase so I prefer someone who's kind, willing to take the time to make sure he doesn't miss anything at all & looks out for us. There are less expensive inspectors out there who are less forgiving than Scott's was this time around. I pay for anal retentive. That was not my experience. Worst of all? I asked for a refund & they flat out refused. It's possible they could do the same for you. I don't think we'll use Scott's ever again. I wouldn't recommend them & ESPECIALLY not Todd Brualdi for inspection services. I'm disappointed in Scott's leadership. Once upon a time, (in my opinion) it felt like a well ran firm that cared about their clients. That's not my opinion, anymore.

Beware of the extra charges from this company. I purchased a new home and per the inspection, one…read moreof the items that the sellers agreed to take care of was to have a radon system installed. Radon Safety LLC quoted the sellers $1398.00 for the installation. I received the check at closing for the work to be completed. When the radon company tech came out, he said it would be an additional $300.00 because he had to hire another company to core a hole in my foundation. He then had to make a call to coordinate with the other company to set up another appt when they were both available. I had to take another day off of work, but they both showed up and the job was completed in about 2 hrs. At the very least, they should have requested what type of foundation the home had before quoting the work. I called the office to tell them they should honor the quote, and I was told by Amanda that the extra cost was "unavoidable". It was ABSOLUTELY AVOIDABLE had they quoted the job accurately! Not happy that I had to pay the added charge out of my pocket when I could have received the entire amount from the sellers. Beware of the extra charges from this company.

I received a quote from Radon Safety back in January. At the time, I was not quite ready to book…read morethe service, but Holly let me know they would honor the rate quoted when I was ready. Fast forward to September, I called and Holly scheduled me an install for two weeks later. The installer, Alejandro showed up right when I expected him between 8 and 9 AM. He could not have been kinder and asked me where I would like the system set up and let me know it was going to take about four hours to complete the job. Post install, we were left with a radon tester and were told to give them a call if we experienced any issues (such as the system making a loud noise). I followed up with Holly later in the day and settled up my balance and she emailed me the warranty. From start to finish this company delivered... Amazing customer service, professionalism, and a fair price. I could not be more pleased

We had an inspection performed on a home we purchased about a year ago. Inspector was timely and…read morefriendly. Now we feel that he didn't adequately do his job. Found out the house had raccoons above garage, roof /skylight leak and nasty biofilm in the jetted tub later. We had even asked him about stains on the ceiling but he didn't catch the roof leak. And he said the tub was not that bad but we've had trouble getting it clean. Raccoon had babies and eventually left but came back this spring. Learn from us- never use an inspector recommended by your realtor!
