Armando has been my guy for all the trucks of my 2 construction companies. The prices are expensive compare to other shops to be honest, but is worth it if there are any issues or problems they stand behind their work. recently they car to towed my truck from santa clara to salinas and it was on Armando Molina. Got here at 8:10am. Was told their smog technician doesn't come until 10. Cool no problem, I come back later at 10:15. Was told "He should be here by now". I wait an extra 15 minutes and no one tells me anything about where he is at. Don't waste your time going here for a smog. read more

Went in for a smog and my car didn't pass (no charge) no big deal. Then paid $30 for them to run a diagnostic test to see what the issue was. (Later found out places do that for free) Was told it was my catalytic converter a $500-$600 piece that they would charge $100 to install. He said it wouldn't pass smog without getting a new one. Took that info home and my boyfriend replaced one of the sensor's in my car, took it to Gomez Auto Repair and it passed smog with flying colors. My one star is for Molina's charge of $30 for information that didn't benefit me or my car at all. Won't be returning here read more

2 stars for being honest and polite... I arrived at 8 when they open to try and get a smog, was told that the smog tech was lazy and wouldn't show up until 9 or so. At 9:30 I gave up. Side note, the Shell at North Main and Laurel will honor the Molina's coupon for a smog. Was in and out of Shell within 15 minutes for under 40 bucks. read more

I took my 1990 Vanagon Wesfalia to Jose at Molina after getting chewed out by the ass at Shell-North Main for having a shitty car that never passes smog. Jose was very helpful and I had no negative thoughts about him. The van passed smog in the first attempt! Will return to Molina in the future and of course refer to those that need it. read more

Horrible excuse for a business! Came in at 8am this Saturday to get a smog check and one of the men said come back at 9am-9:30am when the tech is in. I came back later the day and the mechanic said come back Monday. These guys are not business oriented and don't know how to respect a customers time. I would highly not recommend this place for a smog. Attempted to go early two Saturdays in a row including this morning. Owner':s son who is supposed to be the technician is unreliable to show up for work. The owner offered a discount however if no one is there it doesn't do any good. Not the best looking place, but the technicians are nice. Space for two cars in their garage that's next to another auto shop. Cheapest Smog Test in town, $29.75 + $8.25 cert. It's also FREE if your car doesn't pass (best of luck to you if it comes down to that). I wasn't charged, because mine actually didn't pass. They mentioned it was most likely due to my computer having reset when the auto dealer unplugged my battery earlier that day. I'll be returning to Molina Service to retest in a week or so! Only problem I had was with their phone service. Tried both numbers listed on their website. One has a full voicemail box; was able to leave a message on the other line, but never got a call back. They said it was because they don't reserve time for appts. and it's first-come, first-serve. read more

They stole my car from this shop and the owner didn't even have insurance! He wouldn't cooperate and would litterally hide and ask his son to lie for him everytime I went to his shop for answers. He put me through 9 months of hell. He wouldn't even offer to pay for my rental. Instead, he offered to let me borrow an unreliable, old jeep with a bad battery that needed a jump every time to start. I finally had to sue him to get my money. Don't go to this gross place unless you want your car to get stolen. He doesn't carry insurance for the business! If something goes wrong, its on you because he hides like a coward under his desk! read more

On the recommendation of a friend I decided to go to Molina's for my smog check. I have an older truck so I was worried about it passing. In fact, one of the check levels came up as "not ready" and the tech had me go, drive my truck a bit, then come back again and retest. The service tech was friendly, kind, helpful and efficient with the service. So I did as requested, went and did some errands and came back again. The first tech wasn't there, it was lunch time, but another service tech was there and he was also very friendly, kind, helpful and efficient. This time everything worked just perfectly and the truck passed. I was all ready to present my coupon when I found out that he had already applied it for me! The shop is a small mechanics bay with a crowded front fenced in yard area so getting in and out is tricky but it was so worth it for us. I'm very satisfied with their service and will be going back again in the future! read more

I wouldn't even give this business one star! My husband has taken our vehicles here many times! Well this last time he took his work truck to be fixed! He had it for a week! When he got it back within days the same code came back on! He took it back to shop! Oh and of course it was something else even thou it was the same code that he took it there to be fixed! Ok so this happened at least 3 times! Mind you this is his work truck that he needs! Problem is still not fixed! He even tried to say one of the hoses was fine but when you turn the truck on the hose collapsed! How could the hose be good??? Once my husband replaced the hose his self ummm didn't collapse! We will never take out vehicles to this establishment he needs to watch his workers! I think they messed up the truck now there's 2 codes when he got it back! Shaking my head!! He is the MOST Dishonest man I've ever done business with. I went in to get an oxygen sensor replaced. $400 later he said it was done. About an hour after that, the check engine light went on again. I went back to have him check it. He messed with his machine and said everything was fine. I thought it could've been my car so I went home. A day later the light went on again so I took it to a different mechanic who said you need an oxygen sensor, yours is pretty bad. I went back to Molina a couple times, I felt he was avoiding me. When I finally spoke to him directly I said "you didn't do the work you charged me for and I want my money back!!" He said he didn't have the money to come back the next day. The next day, he made up a story and wanted to do the work on my car. I told him never to touch my car again and to give me my money back! At that point he did. I think the fact that I'm a woman with little knowledge of automotive issues played a big part in the way he treated me and tried to swindle me! Don't trust this con man!!!!! He is well known in Salinas and Monterey county for TAKING ADVANTAGE of women and disabled people and charges for false repairs. SCAMMER. If he picks up on that you dont know much about cars he will falsey charge you or OVER charge you. Molina will charge you for new parts he says he installs, but in reality he just cleans the old parts and puts them back in and when your car starts having problems again he will avoid you at all costs if you qustion him. Most of his good reviews he has online have been put in by himself or family and friends. We are scamming him back this year. This is what we are doing. I went in acting mechanically dumb and asked for work on a perfectly sound car. He came up with a diagnostic that was 100% false and offered to fix the problem for several hundred dollars. He acted very concerned and honest and I can see how costumers would fall for his web of lies and scams. I have a youtube channel dedicated just on Molinas crooked dealing and the interactions I have with him. A couple times a month we are going to send in fake costumers with fake car problems and post the interactions we have with Molina and his crew and everything time he scams one of us and we will expose all his lies and It will be posted on youtube. This place takes advantage of disabled people. Uses 2 different receipts to hide form paying the taxes. Says one price then tries to get more money from you when picking up auto. Terrible comunication when car is being worked on then harasses you with threats about putting lien on car after you paid them in full and the car is still not running right. This place sux. They advertise that they are open until 3 on Saturday but when we arrived at 1:10pm they told us that the tech had just left for the day. No explanation. No apology.
