Somewhat dismayed I must have shown it in my face as a charming waiter appeared with the specials which were all tempting but as it was lunch I settled for the homemade soup (beautifully fresh and not overly creamy) with a hearty triple layered toasted sandwich to soak it up with. Being slightly too early to order a beer (€3.50!) I settled for a couple of warming lattes to help defrost my fingers and mind. A fleeting visit, but one I'd gladly do again no matter the weather!

What again was presented was a chargrilled chicken breast with no Cajun, 2 small pieces of lettuce and the bottom bun covered in relish that tasted horiffic. I've been ordering the same meal when I've gone in the last few years and normally the Cajun burger has a fantastic Cajun sauce, lettuce and onion rings on it. I recommended it to a lot of people. Not any more, I'm not sure who made it but it was clearly not what was described on the menu. Service was very slow when normally quite fast. I said it to the waiter and all he said was sorry about that and I still had to pay for that meal. This is the first time I can say I've been unhappy with any meal I've bought here or elsewhere but it was that bad I had to say something. The nachos were gross. They don't make their own tortilla chips, they used prepackaged, Doritos style tortilla chips. The sour cream looked old and dry but it didn't smell bad and guac was not guac. The fajitas were not fajitas either. Just chunks of dry white chicken meat spread over the chips. I didn't really expect they would do nachos well but I was homesick for something from home. I was really let down. Service was just ok.

The second person in the part ordered a ribeye special medium and both of them came out well done...the nachos were better the steak... the third person ordered a single ribeye medium rare came out ok but the creamy mashed potatoes were drier the Sahara and had almost no flavor...I've had better cafeteria mashed potatoes than these...needless to say you cannot screw up a can of coke... I guess there regular cook was off this evening but our food experience was just bad here. Maybe it's better on the weekend, maybe the burgers are better but. Steer clear of the rib-eyes, Caesar salad and chow mein. I am never coming back as you can only break my heart once.

I was then recommended to try their alcohol-free Chardonnay, which was very nice and more suited my palate. One usually goes to a pub to drink with friends, and wouldn't expect much from the food offerings, but this place obviously puts a lot of thought and effort into their cooking, both in taste and in presentation. When we went to order a drink the service wasn't the best as the bartender took ages to serve us. As there wasn't many in the place I wondered what took him so long to serve. However the drinks were at a reasonable price and the upstairs bar had a big screen to watch the game on. I'll definitely be returning to watch another match up there soon.

There's about 3 30-40 inch screens around the place and one of those big projector style screens so I'd say this place would be a great spot to watch a match. I plan a trip back here when there is a match on and I think I'll get one of their baskets. I'll update my review then. Would recommend.
