I was a walk-in and very pleased I was able to be serviced right away. However, my visit went…read moredownhill from there. I asked for the 60 mins with medium pressure massage. She required payment BEFORE services, hmmm, but ok. The woman who greeted me at the door was my masseuse, she said she would do the first half of my massage. I didn't see a problem with that considering I was a walk in. The room wasn't fancy, but clean. It was quite chilly in the room, the table was cold, and I was provided a thin flat twin sheet to cover up with. Again, this wasn't a problem, more uncomfortable than anything. The massage I was given felt more like rubbing sunscreen on my back. She RUBBED the middle of my back with NO pressure as she sat on the side of the table I was lying on for 85% of my time. She moved swiftly through the various parts of my body, with no focus. Although, I specifically listed my lower back as an area of concentration. I didn't say anything thinking she was still filling in for whomever was to take her place. Also, she walked out of the room 3 times to speak with others in hallway - I didn't appreciate that, b/c she didn't inform or ask me if that was ok. Before I knew it, she started "slapping" on my legs - like the nail salon after a pedicure and said "all done". I'm quite sure I didn't get 60 mins (to include 5 to undress & 5 get dressed). Felt more like a 30-40 mins process, but I didn't look at my start time. Shame on me! As I was leaving, she beckoned for me to come to the desk and she pointed at the receipt for her TIP! I was so aggravated at this point, I gave her one, but didn't want to. I will NEVER return to this place!

Michelle at Body WorX is a fantastic massage therapist! I started coming to her a few years ago…read morewhen I began training for my first half marathon. I knew that I wanted someone who did more than the standard relaxation massage, with knowledge on sports massage and recovery. In addition to the massage, she gives helpful stretches and exercises to help problem areas. I really don't think I would have survived my half marathon and full marathon training without regular visits! I switched from distance running training to weight and strength training (I'm very happy for regular marathon runners, but I think I'm sticking to 10ks and shorter from now on!). Michelle was very knowledgeable on the changes my body and muscles would experience with this change. Post-massage she gave great advice on stretches to do to help my muscles endure the exercise switch up.

She also incorporates range of motion movements which I appreciate and loosen me up. She is attentive to your aches and will address them, which is to say she doesn't follow a routine if a muscle group needs attention. Many times I have left her studio feeling like a wet noodle. Just simply wonderful. I've had many massages over the years where I was told I was getting a sports massage. Many have failed. Michelle exceeds.
