Great googly moogly. If Argonaut made sweet sweet love to a fancy, upscale gentleman, this would be the resulting baby. I mean, it would be a big ass baby, because Molly's is huge. It's got the great selection and organization that Argonaut has and then some, minus a large number of drunken hobos buying forties. I still love me some Argonaut, but Molly's is closer to me now and has a gloriously spacious parking lot. Also, they have an astounding section of bombers and sours in their freezer. The whiskey and bourbon selection is deep, the beer section is above par and it looks like they have a crap ton of wine too (not a big wine drinker). I have also found their pricing to be competitive. By that I mean some items are cheaper than average and some are more expensive. But honestly I'm not going there for the prices, I'm going there for the wide selection. Absolutely love this place. So happy that I happened to stumble upon it when I was looking for something at Petco next door. They have an incredible selection, especially in the craft beer area. Love that they have a huge single can/bottle selection so you don't have to commit to an entire six pack. The employees are super helpful. They are very knowledgeable and very friendly! The rewards program is awesome. Especially the 25% off build your own six packs! They offer tastings and other fun events in the store. Lets start by saying the only good thing about mollys is the selection and Jamalle, super friendly compared to the rest of your staff! The only clerk I would go to HOWEVER: I just went I there todat jan 2nd (my birthday) ive been in mollys a number of times since they opened and a couple times had my little brother , who is my DD come in with me. No problem, however tonight my wife and myself were refused service with about 300 dollar purchace becuase my DD little brother was with. The sign says no one under 21 with out parent or gardian. I am my little brothers legal gardian and he obviously lives with me. However I have seen people with little kids get service with no questions? Honestly I would rather pay a few bucks more at my other small stores than to be refused service at this place. Not to mention the two women were rude. oh well, it happens! I can't say enough good things about Molly's. We bought a six pack of a local brew and one of the bottles broke when it was opened. I brought it in and asked if there was anything to be done. Without question they exchanged the broken bottle with an intact one. So, needless to say, customer service is amazing! The atmosphere is pretty cool. I love Applejacks, and have nothing but love for it there, but it's more warm and inviting at Molly's. I love the selection. There is a huge selection of wine and beer. I'd like to say they have everything, but they don't (hard to have everything with limited space), but 90% of the time if you go in looking for something they will have it. I was a fan up until tonight. I hadn't had a drink in 20 years and I went in there for a bottle of wine for my uncle. I seen the many doors of artisan beers and one of the knowledgeable employees set me up with a 6 pack of different stouts. I was hooked, I've been going exclusively to Molly's for the past year for my beer and liquor. I went in tonight to buy a single bottle of "Not Your Daddy's Root Beer" to make a float out of and had to ask for it. I wasn't allowed to buy a single beer even though there was a slot for it. The slot for the root beer was ginger ale beer or something......the MOD said he couldn't sell me a single until he sold this most unenticing beer first..screw them then. I used to LOVE this place for their prices and location. However, on a recent visit, an employee really let me down. You see, I was in the process of moving and I thought perhaps, just perhaps, they would let me have some of those nifty wine bottle boxes as they are amazing for packing glassware. I walked-in and spoke to a man working there. I asked, "May I have three or four wine bottle boxes?" He replied with, "Only if you buy three or four bottles of wine," I kinda laughed because I assumed he was joking. He didn't flinch or grin. He was dead serious. Seriously, I have to buy one bottle of wine for every one box that I want to take home? I would not advise giving this store your business. The staff was very disrespectful to my girlfriend and I, and the prices are too high and not as advertised. Additionally, they spam neighborhoods by putting huge flyers paper on every door on the block. After two years of patronage, this five star rating still stands firm. To the team at Molly's: You're doing it right. Everything from my previous review is still accurate, just thought I'd add a couple of things: 1. The parking situation here is happy. There is seriously ALWAYS a spot. Not because they're not busy, but because whatever proprietor they have was smart enough to incorporate a grocery store sized parking lot along with the place. No parallel parking needed, and it is NOT next to one of the busiest grocery chains in the Front Range who takes over their lot. 2. The interior is not claustrophobic. There is plenty of room in the aisles for you and that nice customer next to you to peruse those Argentinian wines, the latest craft beer selection, or whatever it is you're after. No need to worry that one wrong move with the shopping cart will cost you a Grand in broken wine bottles. Bottom line, I don't feel like I need a drink to get through the place...that can be saved for home. You're the best Molly's. Keep doing your thing. read more

Molly's is the best. Here is why: I'm a beer lover. I buy at least a six pack each week and I'm always interested in checking out rare stuff. Problem is I don't love chatting up the staff in a liquor store. I'm introverted like that. So since I'm unwilling to play grab-ass with the staff, I usually find myself far down the totem pole when special releases come around, regardless of how often I patronize a store. Even if I happen to find out about a whale, the typical response is "be here at 11:00 am on Thursday when we open to get it! Get there early! There will be a line!" Or "watch Twitter and be down here right away! Limited quantities! First come first served!!!" Listen brozo, I have a day job. The same one that enables me to spend money in your store. I ain't coming down there at 11:00 am on a Wednesday. Nor am I going to sit there for hours in my free time and drone on about esoteric ales, so as to "build a relationship" with a store. This nonsense is so typical of liquor stores in Denver that I had given up on special releases. Bummer. Then came Molly's who fixed ALL of this malarkey by making decisions with data! ::gasp:: They track what you buy and then give their regular customers preference. Crazy right?! No lining up on a weekday, no watching Twitter and no sucking up to the staff. Nope. Instead, special releases are handled over a nice and personalized email exchange. I tell them what I want, they gather my order and I pick it up at the register when I find it convenient to come by. Which, by the way, can be as late as midnight any day of the week! I had no idea this place was going to be so BIG. It's really, really big. Like, almost intimidating for those of us who have a hard time making decisions (see also: chinese food menus). That said, I had one thing I needed on Xmas eve. I went to my little Mom n' Pop shop across the street and they didn't carry it. I remembered the 255 flyers Molly's had placed on my door over the past few weeks (advertising works!) and gave them a call to see if they carried my semi-obscure boozitary need. They did. So we hopped in the car and drove the 8 blocks to Molly's to procure some Pimm's No. 1. It was priced slightly higher than I've paid at Applejack's... but Applejack's is a bit of a haul (Argonaut is even farther), so on the rare occasion I need that special bottle not carried by the little liquor joint up the block from my house, I will be hauling my happy butt into Molly's. And if I ever have a spare 9.3 hours to spare, I might actually browse around to see what else they have! read more

I purchased alcohol through Molly's for two recent events we hosted, our wedding reception and welcoming party for our guests. We had venues that allowed us to bring our own alcohol, and just hire licensed bartenders to serve. Sarah, their events person, was great to work with, friendly and professional. We had about 250 guests total. Upon discussion, Sarah calculated the number of servings we needed, and broke it down by category of beer, wine, and spirits. Their wine expert consulted on the pairings for dinner, and the beer expert for good Colorado brewed choices. Afterwards, I received a quote on email breaking things down by line item. When the pickup day arrived, my order was ready on a cart, and it was a quick transaction to pay and they helped me load it into my truck. After the event, we returned the unopened bottles. We were able to put our own imprint on these important events by choosing our own alcohol, and payed retail prices instead of bar/restaurant prices. It saved us thousands overall. The one thing I may recommend is that if you do plan your own large event, consider buying even more extra alcohol if you are unsure of your guests. Our guests apparently drank more than I had expected.. a tribute to the good options I think! You can always return the unopened bottles later if need be. read more

I'll be honest - I am so lazy when it comes to leaving Capitol Hill. Everything I need, and copious amounts of it are within walking distance - and of abundant sub-varieties and of great quality to boot! It's insane to think that going to Highland or Park Hill or Montclair can seem like an effort, but there are definitely days when it does. So this is me patting myself on the back for checking out Molly's Spirit's, which is in - gasp! - Lakeside. I'm so happy that I did and will be making multiple trips back in the future. I'm hoping to shed a few pounds as well, but, in my immense laziness, attempting to do it with the least amount of effort. To me that means switching from Scotch to Vodka (i.e., the clear alcohol for "rich women on diets"). That's the secret to how all those Cherry Creek ladies look so dope, right?? Anyways, Molly's Spirit's lured me in with their Instagram account (@mollysspirits) which is not only super-pretty but also advertises key deals. Effen Vodka for $17.99 just could not be passed up - guys, I'm doing it for my health - so off to Lakeside I went. The store is a Goldilocks's delight; not too big, not too small, and Molly's uses the space they have to excellent use. There's a wonderful flow to how the aisles are arranged, the interior is bright and clean doesn't smell like the morning after St. Paddy's. A nice-looking (both definitions) dude greeted me as I walked in, pausing in his administrative chores and the cashier, too, was warm and friendly. I was especially impressed with the size of their single-malt selection, brands that I'd never come across before and that I'm now very curious to try were nestled in among my familiar friends. Wasn't disappointed by Molly's but I wasn't all that impressed either. Beer selection was decent but not great considering the size of the store. Though they do offer build-your-own-6-packs for 25% off, which is always nice! Prices, too, were decent but not so good that I'd come out of my way to shop here. Can't say I'm too bothered by the fact that they scan IDs because 1) I've looked like I was 15 years old since I was 15 years old so I get IDed everywhere as it is 2) If you're paying with a credit card, don't you realize they have all your information anyway? Bottom line: if you're in the area and you need to pick up some booze, there are worse places to do so. If you're not in the area, go somewhere closer. read more

What's not to like about a liquor store the size of a grocery store? This is not your corner pack and carry. The selection of wines, local beers and whiskeys is impressive. In the mood for a good Bordeaux? Check. Looking for a six-pack from a local brewery? Check. Want to try a bottle of that hard-to-find Japanese whiskey you read about? Check! Prices are alright. There are some deals to be found but overall I'd say average. I'm not sure what the conspiracy theory is about the electronic pricing. Are people really so paranoid and arrogant that they think a business would try to flip prices on them? C'mon man! One of the things I like most about Molly's is the friendly and helpful service. I'm new to Colorado and was bummed to learn that you can't buy wine or liquor in the grocery stores here. But then I found Molly's! This place is amazing. The selection is the best I've found, the prices are hard to beat, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Even the lighting is pleasant! Alright, so this is definitely a local store with big box store look and feel, they mix it up enough so it's not bland and they have an employee that draws some awesome throwback cartoons ect on the board every week to my amazement and enjoyment. They will have most anything you could want, if they don't just ask and they will order it for you. I was in one day wanting to try the new Ballast Point grapefruit sculpin, They had the sign up but nothing was there. I inquired to an employee and he said to give him a second. A minute or two later one of the sales managers comes out and says they haven't received their shipment yet but if I want a few he would sell me a few singles out of his personal collection to hold me over. Molly's is a Walmart sized liquor store directly next door to a Walmart...Merica! It's convenient in more ways than one, because after venturing into Walmart you'll surely need a drink and there is plenty to choose from here. The place is huge and a little overwhelming. Fortunately it's laid out in a pretty straight forward way. Spirits and wine in the front and beer all along the back. They have everything, so if you can't find something just ask one of the staff members. I haven't asked, but I imagine they could special order almost anything. Prices are good and a little less than the next place. I usually support the local small liquor slinger, but we were right next door and thought, why not?
