Man, I hate to write this. I was super excited to see the shop was now a female owned and run spot. They still have some pretty good beers. They definitely grab good, less available beers. They should be visited for that alone, I presume their wine selection is also solid. Unfortunately, the level of pompous from the woman that I do not believe is the owner (but is always there smoking cigs out front) exhibits is amazing. I can find all of the beers they have at other spots, so no need to deal with that. I now stop there only out of convenience and probably won't after this post. I just wish they would drop the front and bring back the idea that their special selection is for everyone. There are spots around town that are much more approachable. Disclaimer: over the years, due to my regular consumption of beer, wine, champagne, liquor, Little Man ice cream, and charcuterie, I've gotten to know Ryan (the boss man) quite well. And he rocks. So this can hardly be considered an entirely independent review... That said, as this and the other reviews would tell you, this shop is the real friggin' deal. You'll find stuff here you didn't even know you wanted to try, which can itself be overwhelming. But Ryan and his staff taste literally every single thing they carry, so you can actually get the inside scoop on new stuff you might be hesitant to try without talking to someone that has had it. And if the stars align, you'll find that your visit coincides with one of their tastings. Who doesn't like free booze? I usually will just tell Ryan or one of his colleagues what kind of mood I'm in, and out I walk with a six-pack and pint of Salted Oreo ice cream. Sixth star: like much in Edgewater, this bottle shop is dog friendly and there's a jar of treats by the door for all the good boys & girls. This store is run by a couple of dudes with PASSION for what they do. I don't normally spend an hour having a conversation with people that own a liquor store after they close when I just stop in to buy beer but tonight I did and it was great. The beer and liquor selection is phenomenal for a small 'corner store' style liquor store from a connoisseur standpoint, but if you just wanted to get drunk on a budget I'm sure that you could make that happen too. There were plenty of rare beers (in coolers too!) and the spirits were hand curated with an eye toward quality that I have very rarely seen in a shop of that size. This is a new liquor store in Edgwater and the customer service was great! We were greeted by the owner when we first walked in and his brother was helping stock the shelves. The liquor store has been newly renovated inside and looks much nicer than the old one. The store is clean and stocked up. They need to add sugar free red bull though they only had regular red bull. The prices are okay considering it is a locally owned store. The location is great, near Sloans lake. We stopped by on a Friday night after happy hour and it wasn't busy at all. I paid roughly $24 for a handle of vodka. I will stop by again when I am in the area. I love to support new local business in the hood! read more

This place is incredible, we used to go to the old liquor store in its spot and I thought it looked different so I stopped in. The space has been renovated and looks great, the selection is unique - a lot of local options, and the staff is incredibly nice. I am gluten free and they have great gluten reduced options (i.e. Omission and even the local Rickoli's!) and the staff was really receptive to ordering more gluten reduced beers based on recommendation.
