Delicious yogurt - the real thing not loaded with sugar. The original yogurt is a bit tart and the Mango has a subtle sweetness, the Swirl is the best of both worlds and balances out the flavor. The fruits are really a hit or miss. A couple of times, the strawberries, raspberries, and chunks of mango were ripe and tasty while other times the blueberries were tangy and sour while the mango was under ripe. While the home made sugar cone looks promising, it's crumbly and tastes like a soft pizzelle waffle cookie. It lacks the crispy texture of a good waffle cone and doesn't elevate the flavor of the yogurt. Skip the cone and just for the cup! Perfect for a warm day! Great spot for gelato or frozen yogurt in Vienna! It reopened in late May 2020 after closing due to the COVID-19 shut-down. My wife and I stopped here for a gelato treat after a long walk in Nottoway Park. I had the cookies & cream with the straciatella. My wife chose pistachio and vanilla. Both were delightful combinations on a summer day. Once you enter the store, you have two size options available for gelato (small = 2 scoops for $4.50; large = 3 scoops for $5.50). There's limited outdoor seating, but most folks pickup and go. Molly's Yogurt is on the northwest corner of Nutley St. and Maple Ave., but it's not visible from Maple Ave. because it's tucked away in the corner (behind Istanbul Blue restaurant). Mmm slightly bitter froyo, so delish and only $3 for small cup which served a massive amount (2 toppings included and a sweet list of free toppings.) I covered my froyo with strawberries, granola, cinnamon, and honey - soooo good! They have a list of dry toppings (to include, Captain Crunch cereal), as well as sauces and fruits. They also had a flavor of yogurt called, "Billberry." Whatever that is, I wasn't ready to find out. FroYo not your thing? They also have a selection of 8 or 12 different flavors of gellato. Molly's Yogurt is a very recent addition to the Vienna area. With Fair Oaks and Tysons being the closest places to get FroYo this will fill a massive void for me. It's tucked away next to the Birkenstocks store with just a very plain "Molly's Yogurt" sign informing you of its existence. The place is tiny as can be with next to no ambiance, but they sell some impressive gelato and pretty decent yogurt. I sampled one of their gelato offerings and it was quite good. The selections range from standard pistachio and hazelnut flavors to pretty unique like honey, fig, and mascarpone. Despite the unique gelato I was in the mood for froyo. They have a choice of two flavors: green tea and original (tangy). The toppings are limited but decently fresh with a few fruits and then some dried toppings. The yogurt was pretty standard and more on the cold and icy side of the spectrum as opposed to the smooth and creamy of some other places. But the highlight for me was how cheap it was, especially compared to the absurd prices I've paid at some of the trendier FroYo places. A 3 topping original came in at a mere $4.30 after tax, a full $2 less than the gut wrenching price I paid at Yogiberry just last week in DC. That alone makes Molly's a worthwhile destination for me! While I wasn't blown away and wouldn't really go out of my way to come here, it's lack of competition and cheapness will keep me coming back for a while. The gelato to me was more impressive than the yogurt so I may have to update my review after trying more of their selections. read more

We noticed a sign in the window of the Italian Gourmet that Molly's Yogurt serves gelato. Since it was a sunny warm Saturday afternoon, we walked down to the very end of the strip mall to find this small shop. I am guessing this shop is owned by whomever owns Italian Gourmet as they carry some of the same products and offer indoor seating to Italian Gourmet customers. They had about a dozen flavors of gelato available in addition to the yogurt. I have an undying love for peanut butter so that was one of my choices. I also chose amaretto cookie. My husband chose peanut butter and salted caramel. The gelato was creamy and the flavors were good. Peanut butter had chunks of peanuts. Amaretto cookie had sprinkles of cookie that were still crisp. Salted caramel was tasty as well. For me the peanut butter stood out as my favorite although all were good. The store itself was very plain, bench seating and not much in the way of décor. The service was friendly. The person scooping the gelato was very accommodating in allowing the children in line behind us to taste. My wife saw the big gelato sign on the Italian Gourmet and we had to go over and check this place out. I wasn't too familiar with the tangy frozen yogurt thing (I know, leave me alone!), so I had the bacio gelato (hazelnut). Uh, yum? Yum! The little guy had watermelon sorbetto that he loved, and my wife had the coconut gelato. $3 for a small, $4 for a medium, $5 for a large. After ordering, I tried a bit of that tangy froyo (I know, my first time trying it, shut up!), and I'd totally go back for that. Lots of fruity toppings, as well as Fruity Pebbles. For reals. The lady who came in after us got the fig marscapone gelato and put gummi bears on it. To each their own, I suppose. Anyway, it's tucked way back in the corner of the strip mall, next to the Birkenstock store, so you might miss it. Cute! If my friend hadn't suggested we going here (she's an avid Yelper too, I assume), I'd never known this place existed. It's hidden in a small plaza amongst various other places that piqued my interest (like a cupcake place, Nizen's [turkish restaurant I think), etc. There aren't that many tables here at all, maybe like 2 large ones and 2 smaller ones, but it's clean if nondescript. I think the froyo's probably a better deal b/c as previous Yelpers may have already mentioned, it's $3 for the smaller-sized froyo + 2 toppings included, whereas the gelato is $3 for a much smaller portion without any toppings included. I still got the gelato, as I'd just eaten at a lunch buffet, and I got the Dulce de Leche one, which was pretty tasty. And even though there aren't that many tables, a lot of people are just in and out so it seems like seats opened up pretty quickly. read more

Beyond these opening strengths, the place generally isn't crowded (hopefully that's not a bad sign), there are seats inside and out, parking is plentiful, and there's plenty of choice including fresh fruit toppings that can be blended into smoothies before your very eyes. The boy and I stopped here after learning that Nielsen's is closed on Sundays. The ladies were happy to let us sample some gelato flavors. I settled on coconut, pistachio and chocolate - that's right...3 scoops. The boy had coconut, pistachio, amaretto and honey mascarpone fig. All of the flavors were wonderful. I realize chocolate may seem like a dull choice considering all of the other flavors available, but is was such a rich chocolate taste. It really hit the spot. The gelato is served in cute little daffodil-shaped plastic cups with spoons that actually look like tiny shovels (probably fitting). I love Molly's Yogurt! DELICIOUS!!!!!! I've never tasted anything like their frozen tangy yogurt before and I think it's delicious! My neighbor suggested that I try it and I am so glad I did. I love that they have a nice selection of fresh fruit to top off your yogurt or gelato, in addition to more "standard" toppings. They also post their nutritional information for the yogurt and it's suprisingly NOT BAD for how delicious it is. I think it tastes like frozen greek yogurt (not something that would sound appealing to me on first thought) but boy is it delicious. I am addicted to the tangy yogurt with strawberries and blueberries on top. I've never had their gelato, but my husband orders the plain vanilla and swears it's the best vanilla gelato or ice cream he's ever had. :-) I highly recommend it! read more

What a great little mom-and-pop gem in Vienna! They have gelatos and soft serve frozen yogurt here, with as many toppings as you want! That's right, they don't weigh your fro-yo and toppings the way other local places do. Some of the toppings are behind the bar (like the fruit and chocolatey candy), but some are laid out for you to take as much as you can fit (like the jelly beans, sour candies, and fudge/caramel). Friendly service in a plain little shop. Though there maybe wasn't as big a variety of toppings as at some other places, the pricing here is super reasonable. read more

I'm so happy a good gelato and frozen yogurt place opened in Vienna. This place makes great gelato. I've tried a few flavors at this point, so far pistachio and banana are my favorite. They do have a lemon basil flavor that is out of this world, a must try. Decent size for a shop such as this, I've seen plenty that offer no seating so Molly's is one up there. Besides if you do need to sit you won't be for long this stuff doesn't last! It's honestly it's in the top three for me concerning gelato shops and I've had a few in my time (I have a thing for frozen treats especially ice cream, gelato and frozen yogurt). The frozen yogurt here is great. I've tried different places around the area (TangySweet, Sweetgreen, the one in mall, etc.) and this is hands down the best, both for price and flavor. Frozen yogurt AND gelato at the same establishment? Mind-blowing. But, it does create some confusion when trying to decide what to order. I guess that's why I'm glad I came with a friend so that we could try the gelato and the froyo. The tart yogurt is better than Red Mango, but I think I prefer Pinkberry over Molly's. It's still pretty good though but I like my tart yogurt a bit tarter (is that a word?). They also have a few different flavors. We tried the "Billberry" which tastes like blueberry. It was okay, but I preferred the regular tart over the flavor. What I love about this place are the toppings. The ridiculously uniformly-chopped itty-bitty pieces of mango, strawberries, kiwis, or pineapple to pick from are amazing. Whoever they hired to chop the fruit must be highly-skilled sushi chef because they are amazing. The gelato is also pretty good. The flavors were great. We had the amaretto cookie gelato. The flavor was spot on but the texture was a little off for me. I think Plush's gelato down the street is smoother and because of the cookie addition to this flavor, it almost had a sandy texture. I think they should have chopped the cookies at the last minute and just folded them in, rather than blending them in into crumbles. Definitely worth a revisit. Maybe not my favorite gelato or froyo place, but definitely worth it if I have a craving for something sweet and cold and am in the area. read more

I tried 3 flavors of froyo: vanilla, raspberry and tart, and they were really good, good and just ok, in reverse order. I'd go back for the tart any time ;) The place is clean, the counter woman was very nice (it's not a self-serve place) and the toppings included super fresh/firm fruit including blueberries, raspberries, mango, kiwi and pomegranate. Besides the whole berries, the fruit was cut into very small pieces which is good for getting more to stay on your yogurt when they spoon it on, good fruit-engineering. They also have a good assortment of creatively flavored gelatos, which I didn't try. Another nice touch: they have a poster on the wall of the nutritional profile (for-yo was fat free even though it was so good). For $3.50 you get a generous small with 2 toppings. read more

Our family has recently discovered Molly's Yogurt and we've been three times. I've had the honey/marscapone/fig and the cinnamon pear gelato and the original tangy yogurt with heath bar and blueberries. The gelato is really awesome and I love that it is all natural. And I love that you can get a very small size - just enough to enjoy without feeling very full. The yogurt sizes are bigger and I could barely finish the small. I have sampled the kids mint chocolate chip, dulce de leche and vanilla with chocolate chips - all very very tasty. Definitely check it out! read more

I just stopped by Molly's on my way to the new cupcakes place and boy am I glad I did! Their selection of gelato was awesome! I tried both the honey, marscapone and fig and the cinnamon pear. Their yogurt on tap for the day was strawberry and original tangy. I felt I should mention this since someone else mentioned green tea--they must have some type of rotation. Any size you choose to buy has a lot of yogurt in it, you get toppings......and the best thing ever is that the yogurt charge is not based on weight. Many yogurt shops have you fill your cup with yogurt and toppings then it is weighed. You can come out spending &.00 to 8.00 dollars, with not as much yogurt due to the weight of the yogurt and toppings. If you choose to buy the pre-packaged yogurt, the $5.00 size is a really large cup. Not a lot of room - true, not overly decorated, that's also true......but the bottom line is that you get your money's worth and not at a high cost. Fancy places.....yogurt costs more.
