    Molokini 4/17/12

Molokini is a small uninhabited island about an hour, boating time, away from Maui. There are snorkel tours that leave out of Buzz's Wharf that take you to and fro, and let you swim in this crystal clear waters. They say you can see anywhere from 100-150 feet down, the water is so clear. After going there, I can say that I am a believer! Saw the most gorgeous coral, fish, and even a smaller white tipped reef shark on our trip... But no turtles. If you are looking for a spot to swim with them, try Napili or Black Rock. FYI, the address for Molokini is wrong, somehow got a signal to check in, but the tower must have been in Kihei.

Huge shoutout to Maui Diving Scuba and Snorkel for going above and beyond!…read more I forgot my PADI dive card at home and have a dive scheduled tomorrow, so I was scrambling trying to pull up my e-card in the app and on the website with no luck. After getting nowhere, I reached out to Maui Diving scuba Shop--and I'm really glad I did. Sam jumped in to help right away. He took the time to track down my certification, worked through the system issues, and even called me back personally to let me know he found it. That level of service is rare these days. Seriously appreciate the extra effort--Sam and the team saved my dive. Highly recommend Maui Diving scuba if you're looking for people who genuinely care and go the extra mile!

Captain Ben, dive masters Joe, Don, Dave and Brian (I think that was his name). Captain Ben was professional, calm, well spoken, and kind. Joe was energetic, logical, and a great dive master. Don had a great personality, very friendly and hospitable (he constantly offers yummy treats like banana bread with chocolate chips and nuts!!). And Bryan was super friendly. He made conversation with me about all the coolest wreck dives and encouraged me to keep diving to overcome my fears. Be was great! The dive I went on yesterday was to Molokini Crater! We saw tons of reef sharks - most were juvenile so it was neat to see them in so many different sizes. Some were alone and others traveled in packs of 5 or 6. So neat! We also saw a spotted eagle Ray, spongy crab, tons of eel, lots of colorful fishies, and beautiful coral reef. It was a spectacular dive!

Michael did a great job of going over what to expect. He did a great job during the dive as I originally struggled a bit, mostly due my long layoff from diving and the current. However he kept me calm and I improved my technique during the dive, I was use to drift dives. I was originally scheduled for a 2nd dive but we spent 55 minutes on the 1st dive, more than I expected. I didn't expect that length of time or that heavy of a current. Scuba Shack refunded the cost of the 2nd dive. It turned out 1 dive was perfect amount of time and we saw lots of fish, juvenile rays and even a turtle.

We were 4 snorkelers with 6 divers. We had to be at the marina at 5:20am and the early start was worth it. We were the 1st boat out to Molokini. We got to watch the sunrise while the scuba divers got ready. Capt Charlie was the over watch for us snorkelers and he gave us very clear instructions on where to go and how far away from the boat we were allowed to wander. Next stop was Turtle town, we only saw one turtle but still enjoyed an hour snorkeling around. The staff was great and the snorkeling was fun. We went back in to Scuba Shack a couple of times and every time they gave us great suggestions on places to eat that didn't disappoint.

Everyone was nice, fun, helpful, and friendly. First of all, they were the ONLY op to request to see a negative covid test and insisted everyone wear a mask while on the boat. Other ops asked everyone to wear a mask but only enforced it when near the dock. Secondly, Pauline was our DM and a gem. You know she is passionate about diving and the creatures in the ocean. She goes into depth about animal behavior which I found fascinating. Before we jumped in, she told us about an octopus with eggs in a small crevice under a tank. She explained they would be difficult to spot but we really had to get our head down low (and she wasn't kidding). The boat is capped at 6 divers but we only had 5 so we took our time to find them. Everyone patiently waited their turn and no one cut the line. Someone mentioned MS is not patient with newbies but that's not what I observed. They answered all questions and made sure everyone was comfortable before jumping into the water and before we descended. I was a little cold but thoroughly enjoyed each dive. Lastly, they have the BEST snacks. They have fresh baked cinnamon buns, cookies and banana bread. I can't recommend them enough.

Pauline from Mike Severn hit me up, not 5 days before and was able to swing me into a dive the day after I arrived. It was really awesome and very informative, it's my first dive of the year and I was super excited, I've also never been to Molokini as well. We saw an octopus, a couple eels and also a friggin shark! which was really cool! They made a good job of keep everyone socially distanced and keeping everyone safe. I also like the fact you head out at like 6AM so beat the crowds! Great company to dive with!!

I booked 3 boats dives on Tuesday and 2 boat dives on Wednesday with Ed Robinson's Diving Adventures. I would've booked 2 more boat dives with them on Thursday if I didn't have to hang out with family. Ahhhh... They took me to the coolest dive spots and I love how the dive groups were small because the dives didn't seem crowded at all. Meetup time is 630 am at the small boat ramp at 2800 S. Kihei. You fill out paperwork when you get there then they help you set up gear. If you want Nitrox let the staff know in advance and I think it's $19/tank. You get a lot of freedom diving with Ed Robinson and crew, so long as you dive safely and stay out of deco, and they're very open to site suggestions/requests. I love it! Out of the 5 dives I did with them I liked The Apartments, 85, and Red Hill the best. Transportation to and from the boat ramp and breakfast are not included but snacks, drinks, deli style sandwiches, and towels are. I would definitely recommend Ed Robinson Diving Adventures and prefer them over other dive companies. You will get more attention and be taken to cooler sites with this staff. Can't wait to come back and dive with them more! I won't dive with any other dive company in Maui again!

The lady we spoke on the phone was friendly and accommodating. Both places were beautiful with endless visibility. The price was reasonable as well. We paid $168.19 (including gear rental) each. They offered us coffee, drinks, fruits, and muffins as well. If you love dogs, the owner also brought his 3 friendly dogs to the check-in location! Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this place!

I chose this particular tour because it was a smaller group size and I did not want to feel crowded or overwhelmed on a boat with strangers. It was the perfect amount of people, and my husband and I ended up chatting with most of the other passengers, having lots in common. Our captain was Caiden, who was extremely kind, informative, and entertaining. We also had crewmates Sienna, Diego, and Jim looking out for us and making sure that we were comfortable and had all of our wants and needs met. I felt completely safe and comfortable the entire trip and I appreciated having a certified lifeguard on boat with us. The snorkeling experience was phenomenal and being pregnant, it made me feel so calm and relaxed. I appreciated learning the history of the two various locations we snorkeled at and the opportunity to see a sea turtle. The ship itself was pristine, and the restrooms were some of the cleanest I have ever experienced on a boat. The breakfast and lunch that they served us was tasty, and the macadamia nut cookies at the end were the perfect sweet treat. I appreciated that they were able to offer me mocktails since I cannot drink at this time, and those were tasty as well. This experience was worth every penny and I would definitely come back and do it again.
