Absolutely one of my favorite activities is to be on the open water & what a Mother Nature awesome hour to snorkel with the tropical fishes in the clear blue water of Molokini. I found the crew to be so-so and not 100% engaged in their work with exception of the snuba instructor. The Captain that day was particularly unfriendly and this is clearly a job to him, not passion. The breakfast was blah as was the lunch. I did appreciate the beer. They should have had bottled water and soda cans which would have fared better on the boat. One of the highlights was reeling in a 6 foot, 20# ono which completely delighted my daughters. Biggest downside- they didn't let us take our own pictures preferring their photographer to do it. The cost for pictures was completely ridiculous. The grumpy captain clearly did not want to share the fish stating that it would be at least an hour before fillet and dividing it up amongst the crew. I chose not to let the crew and the photography to sour the experience. What a joy it was to share the experience of swimming with the fish with my daughters. Biggest perk- prescription sunglasses that allowed me to see 20/20 clear! Be aware- the parking cost is monstrous :( Totally wish I could own my own boat to be out and about snorkeling in the absolute gorgeous Maui ocean life! read more

Captain and crew were friendly, funny, amd all around amazing. Adella was a great instructor for the snuba. The whole film loved her. She took the time to make sure everyone saw all the fish and critters around the reef and that everyone was doing well. We opted in for the underwater pics with Matt. Got them back the very next day or maybe the 2nd day after either way ir was quick. They are bada$$. So glad we got them. We definatley recommend. read more

I will say this was a great snorkel trip! The staff was amazing and accommodating to the guests. The boat is smaller than I thought and mentally compared it to another snorkel trip we did the week before where I had a huge comfy lounger. So if you're looking for that, this isn't it. I was slightly disappointed but not taking of anything because this was on me. The crew was heavily focused on ensuring guests were happy and took us to two different snorkel spots which was something many of the other companies don't do. There are dozens and dozens of outfits that can take you snorkeling to Molokini so picking one felt like entering the lottery. The great news is we struck it big! The boat is the perfect size- big enough to move around and mingle - and who doesn't love a top deck to do some sweet sightseeing - but not so big you feel like you're navigating Black Friday lines to find a seat! The equipment was well maintained, the food was very well done and plentiful! This experience was a definite highlight of our first visit to beautiful Maui! My husband is a bit cautious around water and Marcella, our snuba instructor, was beyond patient and wonderfully supportive (and out with us on her birthday sharing her love of this ocean)! She could sense his unease onboard and made a plan with us to build help his confidence, gave us extra time to adapt, and even recommended that we try again at the second stop since he had been so close to the full underwater experience at Molokini. Once we got there, he too was 15 feet down and holding an octopus while throwing a shaka for Matt, the amazing underwater photographer, to capture. It was hard not to smile from ear to ear in order to keep my mask properly sealed! Everyone from the captain to all the crew and out fellow divers was wonderful. 10/10 would recommend supporting this local business and exploring Maui beneath the surface! read more

Snorkeling with Aqua Adventure was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Maui. We went out on an early tour to Molokini Crater and Turtle Arches and we were so glad that we chose this team. The crew was absolutely fantastic, and we wound up with probably 10 people on the tour, whereas we saw other bigger boats with hundreds of people, which looked very crowded when seeing them all in the water together. We got to Molokini before a lot of the crowds and were super lucky to see two monk seals playing together in the water. There were tons of fish to watch and coral to explore, but my favorite was the second stop, where we had up close and personal (safely) views of sea turtles, fish, and awesome coral reefs to explore. To and from both locations, we saw multiple whales and under water at Molikini, specifically, you could hear their songs if you dove a little deeper. All in all, a really great experience. Can't thank Captain Darrell, Adela, and Darien (not sure if I'm spelling any of these right, haha) enough for their kindness, humor, and care! P.S. We had just gone scuba diving a few days before, so opted to just snorkel, but Adela was so patient and great with all the folks that tried snuba--I followed them around from above while Adela pointed out cool stuff with her underwater etch-a-sketch! read more

Hands down our best excursion we did in Maui. My husband and I did the SNUBA, which I was so scared to do. I had never even snorkeled before but Adela was AMAZING. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable even when I got scared while going underwater. We saw sooo many amazing fish and turtles while she pointed each of them out for us. Marley was awesome as well as he took all the photos for us to buy after. This was my second time to visit Maui and this snorkeling trip took the cake! The crew was so kind and very funny. They were very accommodating and educated. The photographer, Matt, had so much knowledge and enthusiasm. He and the other crew members made sure we got the full experience. Such a fun group! Although they obviously cannot guarantee seeing certain things, we did get to see so much! Thousands of fish, many sea turtles, an octopus and when they heard of a whale siting nearby we were blessed to lay eyes on those beautiful creatures as well. Over all, AMAZING experience. I was a little worried when my family and I walked up, it didn't look like much. we wanted to go with one of the bigger boats. "Don't judge a book by its cover" we had an AMAZING day! the captain was witty and very friendly. The crew was Awesome! all of them were so friendly, attentive, fun, and helpful. From Tara making our reservations to Adela being our dive instructor, the entire team was GREAT! Captain Darrell and crew were top notch not only in their jobs but in their customer service! The photographer was also great with his prices and skills. Adela was so patient with us first time divers and was so great in her explanation and class. Even though the weather wasn't super warm and sunny, the crew made the whole trip so pleasurable and exciting. The breakfast and lunch were also perfect choices. I just recommend maybe having more food because there was only 1 small sandwich per person available, BUT that is the ONLY thing I would change. Everything is great with this company. Punctual, crew is experienced and provide plenty of information. They give you enough time to snorkel or snuba. I did snorkeling only but my wife did both snorkeling and snuba. They take customers in small number. We were just 10 on small boat. Since less customers and so more focus on each one of us. Captain was super funny too. They provide breakfast initially and after activities they do open bar and lunch. Lunch was basically sandwiches and drinks mainly had Mai Tai. Lately I realized that they had beers too but it was too late since we were nearing harbor and so they won't give. Onboard photographer takes your photos in water whenever he can and thumb drive is available for purchase for $70 cash ($73 credit cards). Little costly but pics are too good to reject the offer. Experience was awesome and not so tiring. Team is dedicated to make our experiences great. Just giving them 4-stars as they didn't honored the offer which came for doing yelp checkin which was for photos. On showing the offer , photographer said that it's not for him and he is not aware of it even. However, yelp checkin offer was for same site photos which we bought after paying $73. There is some miscommunication somewhere in team. read more

I have so many good things to say about our snorkel trip to Molokini with Aqua Adventures- most of which are about the crew. We loved our Captain Darryl-- He was informative, funny and a great storyteller! The waters were a bit choppy and I was feeling a bit sea sick-- Shanessa, Jarren, and Marcella all checked in on me, offering ginger ale and advice to get me feeling better. They were SO caring. The photographer on the boat- Matt- was great to talk to about his experiences- I'm a photographer in Tennessee and I can totally say with confidence: buy the photo package! He has some awesome gear and will blow your GoPro footage out of the water, pun intended! Molokini was very pretty. We saw a lot of beautiful fish-- some that were swimming right along side of us near the top! There was an octopus friend and an eel as well. The coral was beautiful too. The best part of the trip for me was on the way back-- we saw SO MANY WHALES. There had to have been about 30 breaches, pectoral fin slaps, and dorsal fin dives.. Some of which came up right beside our boat!! I have to give Marcella an extra huge shoutout because I had my camera in my lap and wasn't sure if I could get out on the deck and photograph them because my sea sickness was giving me trouble again. She could see I had serious FOMO so she grabbed my camera and my hand and guided me out to the deck. Within 30 seconds a whale breached right next to the boat and I was able to get to shots of it. I screamed with joy. Hopefully her ears have stopped ringing! lol So again-- Thank you Marcella-- your help meant so much to me! read more

My husband and I have snorkeled quite a bit, but we have never Scuba dived. Snuba gives you a taste of what scuba diving is like. Basically, you don't carry a tank, but rather you have an oxygen line from your mouth to the tank on the boat and you can go 10-20 feet underwater. Also you have an instructor guiding you in the water. I have to sing the praises of our instructor, Adella!! After the snuba tutorial, I felt ready, but right as I was about to get in the water, I had a panic attack and started stripping off all my gear. The panic sprung up out of seemingly nowhere (which is often how they are). Adella came over to me and said it was okay if I didn't want to get the water, but she asked if I would give her 5 minutes. I nodded cause I still couldn't talk. She brought me gently into the water and talked me through everything. Long story short, I did 2 dives, and it was amazing. I practiced breathing slowly in and out. We saw turtles underwater, and Matt, the photographer, took amazing pictures of my husband and I with the turtle! This whole experience with the tip, photography package, wetsuit rent, and 2 snuba dives ended up being $800 for 2 people. We felt it was expensive but one of the best experiences we've had, so it was worth it. We also saw whales. A baby put on an amazing show for us jumping out of the water 12 times or more!! We went on a Tuesday in the middle of January, and the boat was not crowded. The crew was amazing, and the food hit the spot! I'd definitely recommend!! Give Adella my love, she's amazing! read more
