I stopped in this store for a couple of items that are cheaper here. I was able to get a few of the items that I came for but seem to run into this location running out of the items or not being stocked. The store is very busy, clean and not as quiet as the other stores. Parking is a little hectic as well. I had to travel to a store further store to get the other items. read more

Lovely organic, small producer focused grocery store. I've been coming here since I moved to Balitmore. They have a Naked Lunch - part of the store where they make custom juices and offer vegan lunches and pastries. Over the years, my shopping habits have shifted a little bit, but I also love their skin care section in the back of the store where they have a lot of cleaning ingredients. They also have a really good CBD selection, as well as collagen and protein powders. They have a coffee area too, where they roast their own coffee and that's a really good coffee option (when functional). Despite being super hipster bougie, the staff is really helpful and friendly. They charge 25 cents for bags so make sure to bring your own. read more

tl;dr: nice organic store, but UNION BUSTING MANAGEMENT It's a nice organic store. Not very local, and way too much packaging and shrink wrapping (so not eco-friendly) but not bad. The reason for the bad review is that management is talking the talk of neighborliness and love for the earth but are doing everything they can to destroy the workers' union. Everything from raising wages at non-union stores of the same chain, to intimidation, etc. Hard to avoid shopping at Mom's in Baltimore (Whole Foods is no better) but I would if I had a more socially conscious alternative. read more

This market is the real deal, a truly conscious organic supermarket. I made a pitstop here to pick up food from their built in restaurant and to take a peek at their tea selection. I was happily greeted to almost a whole shelf (top to bottom and almost full length) of teas. I was excited because they also carried more medicinal varieties like knettle and Mullen that I was having a hard time finding elsewhere. I ordered their bean & rice bowl and it was by far the heaviest salad(?) that I've ever received. Imagine the portions at chipotle then double it for the same price. Fresh grains, veggies, and a delicious spicy cilantro lime vinaigrette. Yum. I wish I had a bit more time to explore the natural beauty section in the back, maybe next time. read more

Scott Nash started moms at the age of 22 with an initial investment of $100 as a home delivery business out of his mom's garage. On July 2nd, 1987, MOM's made its first sale delivering to a customer who lived in Rockville, MD. Scott bought his sister's Chevy Malibu station wagon for $1,000, which he used to make grocery deliveries in the middle of the night. A big break came when Scott's roommate, who worked at a local organic retailer that went out of business earlier that day, put a note on the door telling people to go to MOMs instead. Scott learned to prep, store, and display leafy vegetables from his mother one day when she was helping out in the store. Vegetarian Times ordered a box of mail-order produce from MOM and gave a positive review in their magazine, which brought hundreds of mail-order, customers. In the early 1990s, MOM's was sending organic produce mail-order Monday & Tuesday, doing home delivery Wednesday & Thursday, and open to the public for walk-in retail Friday - and Sunday. I've been looking forever for yerba mate but just the leaves not already brewed and this store is the first place I was able to find it at. Also they have free water which is a really nice touch. I was feeling very dehydrated from the heat so it was a very nice surprise that they have free cups of water it made my browsing experience a lot better. I was a bit surprised to find a MOM's in Baltimore; they tend to be out in the sticks a bit. But this one is nestled in a neighborhood of multicolored rowhouses, it's full of Hopkins-geared yuppies, and I passed a supporting actor from The Wire in the bread aisle. Yep, it's definitely Baltimore. This MOM's is cavernous, maybe bigger than the Whole Foods in Fells Point that is currently in a marginal space as it rebuilds, and MOM's is much better. The selection of fresh produce is small, though it tends to be nice-looking stuff. Their strength is less on that then on the substantial bulk section, freezer aisles full of hard-to-find specialty items, and the global and snack foods in the middle. I always find several things to try, from the Charlottesville-made NoBull burger to something called a "samosa dumpling". Vegans, gluten free people, and others with esoteric dietary needs and allergies, rejoice as one, this is your store. It's also a great shopping experience, with big aisles that let you breathe and plenty of people working checkout and answering questions. You'll spend more than you would at a conventional grocery, but if you pick sales and spend wisely, it's well worth it. read more

Great grocery store. All organic food. Everything is fresh and they offer a variety of options. I love to get dried ginger from here and herbal tea but there are so many other awesome things here in terms of fresh groceries. I grabbed organic salmon and chicken while visiting. Inside the grocery store is a restaurant that sells various vegan dishes. There is a bit of indoor seating and also an outdoor seating area. Located at the Rotunda shopping center, parking is easy and there is plenty of outdoor seating throughout the center. Love it here! read more

My husband and I stopped by MOM's Organic Market to grab some cold drinks when we were walking around the Rotunda this past weekend. We were impressed! It's been family-owned and -operated since 1987, has locations in MD, VA, DC, PA, NJ, and NY. MOM's offers great benefits to its employees and seems like a values-based grocery co-op. It was small and yet seemed really spacious, and as we wandered the aisles, we noticed that they sell some amazing products and brands. We're moving to the Hampden area this summer, and I'm excited to have MOM's so close. It seems like a great place to buy a lot of environmentally sustainable products and yummy foods! read more

Heavenly contrast to ... well, literally every other grocer. This particular evening my family fled a brief flirt w a certain other store and ran straight into MOM's loving arms. (I won't sully this review by mentioning the other store by name but, it's the one recently acquired by Lex Luthor.) MOM's has and does it all for the planet. Organic food and supplies, compostable or recyclable, up-cycled everything that can be. The selection of VEGAN food is unmatched by any competitor. The workers are joyful and well compensated. The store is gorgeous, spacious, thoroughly tidy & immaculately maintained . And yet, NOTHING about the place feels pretentious. That's actually a rare feat. Wow! Such a cool grocery store! Every single thing you could possibly need for organic, plant based, vegan, veterinarian shopping and eating. I especially enjoyed the fruit selections as I've noticed items I've never tried or heard of before. Lots of vegan, gluten free snacks. My goodness so many! As you would probably imagine, prices are on the more expensive side but can you really put a price on healthy eating, really?! There were lots of my favorite veggies, rainbow carrots, purple kale, purple chard, items you may not find at Giant, but would find in Sprouts... a little cheaper I'll definitely return when in the area. read more

I've been coming here since they opened in 2016. I remember feeling ecstatic when I first heard they were opening a store here in Hampden. Prior to moving to Baltimore City, I lived in White Marsh and would shop at their Timonium location. But since moving, I only really shopped at Whole Foods Market or made the drive to Timonium. Luckily for me, they're here. I only buy produce at MOM's because they only sell organic, so you don't have to worry about mistakenly buying conventional. Also, their produce is way fresher than WFM. From my experience, WFM has really poor quality control and I find way more moldy produce. MOM's also provides complimentary coffee at their customer support center in the back (both regular and decaf) with dairy and nondairy milk. The staff there is overall very friendly and it's just a great space to do your grocery shopping. If you need to refill your laundry detergent, they got that. If you need reverse osmosis or high pH water, they have a station. They also have a supplements section in the back as well. If you're hungry and want a healthy meal, they have a station that serves food as well. If you've never been inside a MOM's, take a chance, you'll probably really enjoy your experience here. read more

Ok so out of all the Organic grocery stores such as Whole Foods, Fresh Market and Spouts I had to make this my number #1. I also asked the question on my facebook page in regards to who has the BEST selections and which store was better. So for me, I can only eat Gluten Free food. No more meat and no more Diary. I been having a challenging time with satisfying my soul because I am a real foodie. MOM's was the best for me because of all their different selections and variety of food. They had great sales too as well so It still felt like I wasn't about to get robbed while I was at the register. I was able to find plenty of snacks that were Gluten Free.I got popcorn, key lime pie, crackers, doughnuts and cookie dough. Now that I have to take my own food every where I go everyday I just need comfort knowing that I am still a regular person and not out of this world. I was also able to find cream cheese and sour cream that was non dairy. The store was clean, nice, neat, and organized so it was easy to find everything. I guess I will be here once a week spending at least $100 on snacks to get my dopamine. read more

This is an awesome store! I took public transit here, and it IS accessible within a block. The employees are so kind. I really love the plastic free options to bring your own containers and bags. THIS is probably the MAIN reason I will stop here: to reduce my plastic footprint. They have bar soaps that have NO plastic, candles with NO plastic, fruits and veggies with NO plastic, nuts and grains with NO plastic. I love it! Also, they have affordable glass containers in case you need more, or your bag/container supply dwindles as you're putting more things in there. Love love love love this market! You walk in and it smells so fresh and lovely! The layout of the store is pretty easy to understand as well. The employees all seem very friendly. On this recent visit I didn't need any help but they are very willing. This place is truly about saving the earth and your body! They have a banned list of foods and they give you incentives to want to return bags and such! They even have a recycle area that you can recycle certain items!! I love it!!! If you are a little hungry from your trip or just want some warm food they have a good bar right next to the checkout lanes. I have ordered only the jamming Yam and in my opinion it's so delicious! There is plenty of parking so you can enjoy this location and several places that surround it. The parking can be a bit overwhelming due to there always being so many people so just be cautious. I can't forget to say thank you to whom ever left a coupon for my favorite açaí ice cream!! It was so truly appreciated and used! Completely stunned on my first visit here. Upon entering, the customer service desk welcomed me with complimentary coffee and water, and as I sipped on my coffee, I was awed by the beautiful scenery: spacious aisles for fresh produce, meat, dairy, and baked goods. My only reservation against shopping at MOM's is its price - it's more expensive than Whole Foods! All in all, the goods they sell here are top-notch, albeit expensive. read more

If you are in the part of the city and want to run into a store for some things here and there I'm sure MOM's will have what you need. The employees were great and extremely personable as well, helping me out when I showed my lack of direction and got lost in the store (don't ask how). I was surprised by the amount of selections offered here! It was my first visit and I honestly only dropped by because it was convenient. I meant to quickly grab 3 items but ended up spending 30+ min going from aisle to aisle hahah If you saw a cool item on pinterest or Instagram but couldn't find them at your local store, this is the place to check out! Not only that but they also only offer the highest quality items at relatively reasonable prices. After all, it is an organic market so higher prices are anticipated than your usual Harris Teeter, Giant, etc. Parking is super convenient as well! 1 hour free parking and ample space in the lot. Tons of organic, natural, and local stuff. I'm in love. I'm a sucker for a clean, well organized healthy food store and this place doesn't disappoint. I stop in at least once /week and spend more money than I always plan. Why is it so great Rhonda? Let me tell you! - ample parking - store is nice size (but not too big) - bulk section is pretty extensive and always stocked - the supplement section (I think that's what it's called) is ALSO very extensive AND the folks in that area are super knowledgeable - they have a wide variety of skin care products that range in price points - the Naked lunch bar is CLUTCH! Juice, komboucha and tons of great food - they recycle EVERYTHING! - the staff is always super pleasant, knowledgeable and friendly - tons of vegan and veg options - they carry mason jars! So it really is a one stop shop To me it's significantly better than the other leading health food stores. I love this Mom's. The produce section is small, but oh so fresh - absolutely the best vegetables around and usually in season. The selection of vegetarian and vegan products can't be beat. The staff are so friendly and never too busy to help when needed. The house made bread is wonderful. There is a convenient recycling center in the front of the store for compostables, batteries, and other items. My only complaint is not the fault of the store - parking at the Rotunda has gotten to be a nightmare and there have been a few times that I just passed through and went to a different store because the lot was so full. There is a garage, but it is far from the store to carry groceries. So, go early or late for best parking. read more

They have wholesale bins for grains that we love. My first visit had me circling the produce section several times and strolling through the aisles looking for something that I could justify spending $$$. I found a good deal on apples, kettle chips, and organic soap. I wouldn't do my normal grocery shopping here, but if gluten free, dairy free, and child labor free are important attributes to your weekly shopping trip then this is the place for you. I did find the employee in the wellness section to be helpful as he offered assistance. Also, the aisles are wide and there are several samples of coffee, bread, spreads, and green drinks offered throughout the store. read more

Their newest location in Hampden offers it's guests free 2-Hour parking. The aisles are wide, clean and lined with shelves stocked with a dazzling array of organic goods. For those looking to try something new or stock ones pantry there are various Bulk Goods stations: - Coffee (The MOM's brand is roasted on site) - Dried goods (Beans, legumes, lentils, grains, etc) - Spices - Pasta - Laundry detergent and select household cleaning products. Hungry? Thirsty? MOM's has you covered with an in-store cafe offering homemade and affordable meal options or kombucha by the glass. As with any MOM's location, you receive a $0.10 credit for each reusable bag used at checkout. The produce is fresh, often seasonal, and local when possible. There are free samples (coffee, tea, bread...) that rotate daily - a great way to discover new products, foods or beverages. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, passionate and genuine. Lastly, I wanted to address the issue of price; something that is relative both in terms of income and priority. If one is going to draw comparisons make sure you're comparing apples to apples; perhaps literally as well as figuratively. Conventional products at one store may be less than organic versions at MOM's, but understanding the factors that go into pricing (fair trade, ingredients, impact, wages, etc) create a more complete and often compelling argument in favor of the latter. It would be like saying Car A, a Ford Pinto recently dredged from the Loch Raven Reservoir, and Car B, a gently used Rolls Royce Phantom, are the same. This is one of my favorite grocery stores, and definitely one of my favorites in the city. It's my favorite primarily because of the bread, specifically the Lyon Bakery bread. It's delivered fresh every morning presumably from Laurel. I like to get there early to get it. This bread will change your expectations of a loaf of bread. It's not that buttery deliciousness of challah you can only have every once in a while (challah is my favorite bread I think): it's excellent, everyday bread. And I'm saying it right here and now: more stores should stock this bread, even if it's just a couple days a week. I also like the selection of the other products here. Not as broad as Wegman's or Whole Foods, but enough where you can find whatever you need and maybe some reasonable subs. The produce section is small but it's quality. The parking is free and plentiful. It can be easier to get up here than it is over to Canton or Locust Point. However, it does get busy and a bit scary with all the cars zooming about. So I like to pop in and pop out. And they have my ever elusive organic milk with lactase added. They also have my favorite (but too expensive) hippie deodorants, to keep my pits looking discoloration-free and smelling fresh. Gotta keep it fresh! read more

This place is so amazing. Very clean, neat, and well stocked. The staff is very knowledgeable thumbs up to Lilly who helped me locate local honey for allergies. She also informed me on Manuka Honey a specific type of honey that's used for wound healing. Learning more about different foods that are healthier,myself and my family is very important. This store is wonderful ! I love coming here. The location leaves a bit to be desired as the parking lot is not large and pedestrians are everywhere . Moms has so many items in every nook and cranny that you can spend hours exploring the store and still not see everything. This location is even more exciting because it has a cafe and a coffee bar. Samples abound and the bath/body tea has testers for everything. The produce area is no large but there a few items of interest . This is not as extensive as a Whole Foods but they have specialty items that Whole Foods doesn't have. Come take a look ! read more

Not impressed. Store was clean and that's the only thing going for it. At first glance, the produce section is very very tiny and I struggled to find heads of lettuce and other produce. The selection in the store all around is very limited as I had a hard time finding organic bread as well. And don't even get me started about the layout, the aisles may be deceivingly wide but the layout is horrendous and confusing. And the cashiers...well they weren't friendly and the bagger pretty much shunned me with her eyes when I asked for a paper bag for my 1 item. Overall, Moms is clean but way overpriced compared to other organic food markets. The staff are unfriendly and the selection is limited. Stick to Giant or Harris Teeter if possible. read more

Eat lunch here at least once a week. The staff is all super friendly and really go the extra mile. Certain members always say "welcome back"which is very nice that they recognize me :) I have 3 favorites: #1 Black Bean burger (I always add fried onions!) I am by no means a vegetarian, but this burger is off the chains! I crave it! #2 Jammed Yam Perfect amount of food to keep your satisfied for many hours--packed full of protein and while some of incidents may seem odd together (sweet potato and pineapple) its all pairs perfectly! #3 Cauliflower Steak (I like to add cheese on it) Again very filling and doesn't make me miss the meat You will spend at least $9.40 (plus $.75 for any extras) but for a super fresh, healthy and satisfying meal that is hard to beat They also have plenty of seating inside (and some tables outdoors) which is always a plus. read more

Really glad when they opened up another Mom's in Baltimore City.
