What disturbed me most, however, was overhearing a conversation in the back of the store between (who I later learned was) the manager, Jen, and an employee I believe was named Skylar. The way they were speaking about other employees was harsh, belittling, and extremely unprofessional. The tone and behavior made it seem as though they were not addressing issues directly with the team, but rather plotting against other employees behind their backs. It came across as divisive and mean-spirited, almost like they were teaming up on them instead of leading with fairness and respect. Witnessing what appeared to be this kind of behavior--especially from management--was unsettling and completely unacceptable. What makes this even more disappointing is knowing that Sally Beauty publicly promotes strong core values such as: * Be Yourself -- Come as you are, everyone is welcome here. * Be an Inspiration -- Share your passion and knowledge respectfully. * Be Bold -- Lead with positivity and integrity. * Be an Owner -- Create growth, not division. * Be Part of Something Bigger -- Care for each other, your community, and your team. Not one of these values was being demonstrated during my visit. Instead, what I witnessed reflected the opposite, workplace negativity, exclusion, and what genuinely appeared to be harmful behavior toward another staff member. This experience was deeply disappointing and concerning. It made me question how employees are treated behind the scenes and why customers are walking into such an unwelcoming environment. It's clear that major changes are urgently needed in this store before it can uphold the standards Sally Beauty claims to value. I will not be returning, and I'll be sharing this experience with others as well.
