I had two disappointing experiences at Mona Nails in the past, but I decided to give them another chance. Unfortunately, this experience was even worse, and I will not be returning. I arrived when they opened at 9:00 AM. The owner welcomed me in, and I told him I wanted a manicure and pedicure. He told me to sit down and assigned someone to me. She began my manicure and then moved me to a chair for my pedicure. At that point, I had foil and cotton on my nails, and my hands had been placed inside plastic bags. Around 9:20 AM, the owner came over and told me that he had mixed me up with another client--the woman who actually had a 9:00 AM appointment but had arrived late at 9:20. He then told me that I would have to leave and come back at 4:00 PM. What was especially upsetting was that he made no effort to help me remove the cotton, foil, or plastic bags from my hands before telling me to leave. I was already in the middle of receiving the service that they had started. This was completely unprofessional and very poor customer service. After giving Mona Nails multiple chances despite two previous issues, I can honestly say: never again. read more

Very disappointed. She rushed through the manicure and pedicure, then rudely asked that I pay her tip in cash . Both the manicure and pedicure was sloppy and done in less than 30 minutes. Definitely would not recommend going there . read more

Did an awesome job on my pedicure but my nails not so much. I got both a gel mani and pedi. The nail tech was able to do the color on my feet no problem and then said it was too light for my nails and put white down first. It is a light pink color so some of the white is showing through. I paid $117 for a gel mani and pedi but my nails look like I did them. Their is also bubbles showing through in the polish. Not super happy gor the price I was charged and paid. I pay only $80/90 in corning with tip. So will not be going back :/ read more

I'm from Buffalo, NY and needed my nails filled (acrylics) when I was visiting my boyfriend in Elmira. I looked up nearby nail salons and checked all the reviews. Mona nails looked the closest to what I was looking for. The place was simple but cute and VERY busy (make an appointment). Everyone was very welcoming and kind. I was serviced by a sweet and patient woman named RANDY and she absolutely killed it! It was exactly what I asked for. She took her time, was detailed and gentle. She did the whole process, including cuticles and moisturizing my hands afterwards. I recommend this establishment and now don't want to get my nails done in Buffalo anymore. I feel like I'm going to be the one commuting to visit my bf more often. read more

I had my gel coat nails removed by one of the manicurists at Mona's. She used a grinding tool to remove the polish. She ground down my natural nails and now I have very soft nails and one of my nails bled a bit. My nails will not grow back for months. I would never recommend Mona's because they don't know what they are doing! read more

They do a great job but cannot seem to honor appointments. Three times now, I have gone at my scheduled appointment time and they cannot take me in. It's usually an additional 15 or 20 minute wait after my appointment time. If you have a job or kids, you know that this will not work. Each time I've had to reschedule. If it were based on quality of service alone, I would give them a five, but because we all have busy lives, I need to be able to count on an appointment. Or, they should just change their policy and say they do not take appointments. They wouldn't wait for me if I was 20 min late. read more

Arendy is amazing. I called ahead for an appointment and got an acrylic fill with gel polish. I was done in 45 minutes and she gave a really fabulous little shoulder massage, working on some of my shoulder knots. DO NOT use this place. While they do an excellent job on nails, they are VERY deceitful in their pricing. They don't speak English well enough for you to understand what they are saying, give you something you didn't ask for and then charge you for it. This is so dishonest! and instead of offering to make it right with the customer, they give you a "Oh well" attitude. I don't expect them to stay in business for long. I'm giving them a 5 for service (I'd rate the building space a little lower, but it's local ;) ) Jack gave me a mani/pedi. He did a great job with the massages and attention to detail. I'm super happy with his patience in my lack of color decision making (because there are a TON of colors). I got the normal polish for the toes, and the powder on my finger nails. The powder is a new process to me, but he takes me through it and did a great job finishing it off. I'll report back if it chips, but I'd recommend the joint for sure! read more

I have visited this place once before and the young kid who did my nails did a great job. Today I had a pedicure and fill done and the girl was very aggressive with my feet and made my big toe and a small toe bleed. Then when she filled my acrylic nails, she burned me 3 times with the grinder and once said sorry. She was rude and dismissive and when I asked for something, she would let out a big sigh and act like I was impeding her time. This is her job! We pay them for a service and she acted like it was an inconvenient to put polish on one nail. That was one of my worst experiences at a nail salon and one that I will not be coming back to. read more

I've been here twice now. The first time I was there my gel powder manicure started cracking soon after I got it and the topcoat on my pedicure seemed to come off. Instead of having a glossy finish it looked cracked and had more of a matte look. Against my better judgment I went again with a friend. I got a manicure that lasted 5 days after my nail broke and pedicure that also didn't last with several chipped toes. Again the topcoat seemed to come off?? and my polish looked cracked. I spent 120 dollars on my nails for them to last 5 days....Then when I ask them to fix the mistakes they put a tip on my broken nail and decided to charge me another $6!! No heads up. I told the girl how much i just spent a few days ago and she didn't care. Going back to Art Nail where the quality of work is superior and they don't charge you for their mistakes. They are rude, barely accept walk in and too fast with pedicures. My daughter nails looked like a kid polished them.
