(It wasn't good enough) I was so disheartened after having had the same wonderful optometrist for 30 years before I moved here. I went here as my new insurance covered the office and figured it couldn't be worse than my old one. I booked soonest available which was within about a week and half and saw Dr. Pippin. It is my understanding he is newer to the practice. Everyone at the office was lovely but Dr Pippin was amazing. He really listened to me and spent probably 30 minutes with me trying to dial in my script. We got glasses as perfect as can be. The gentleman who helped me order my glasses was helpful as well. I was able to find a rim I really liked, but didn't like the color it was available in. However he was able to find that it comes available in color that suits my skin tone well. They came out perfect and I can finally see! We are still working on dialing in a contacts script, but I'm very happy with the efforts thus far and have recommended this office to others already as well. I have immense gratitude for Dr Pippin and his staff for finally helping me see right.

I specifically appreciated their frequent communication via text, the friendliness of the staff, Dr. King's patience in answering all of my questions and determining my prescription, and the quick turnaround time for my new glasses! I also appreciated the covid-19 precautions that they took (temperature check at the door & one patient at a time in the office) and thought the office itself was clean, well-decorated, and inviting! I told her I wanted to stay within insurance benefits but she encouraged me to try the anti-reflective lenses, so I paid $92 cash for thIs and my print out states I owe $0 balance. Office staff called to say they had made an error and my bifocal was toi large, and needed for me to come in and be remeasured. I got a call 2 weeks later that my corrected glasses were ready for pick up. I asked, "how, since I had not been in for remeasurement due to a leg injury." They stated, "we just went ahead and redid them." I received a statement from my insurance THAT I OWED $200! I drove the 100 mile RT to get my glasses and the bifocal area was so small I had to tilt my head up to use the bIfocal. I told them I think the office staff may be scamming elderly. In 60 years i HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH HAPPEN. She stated thet were a new office, but i replied it doesnt excuse INCOMPETANT STAFF. They don't belong to BBB so im alerting potential customers via YELP.

This is specific to Dr Tokarev who works at this eye center. This is my opinion based on my…read moreinteraction with Dr Tokarev and his scheduler Dotty. Originally I was pleased with my consultation with Dr Tokarev and left a positive review. Everything changed once the consult was done and I needed to now schedule my surgery appointment. Getting a hold of the the scheduler (Dotty) is near impossible. After a couple of weeks of trying and leaving messages, I finally had to ask someone at the front desk to find Dotty and make sure she called me back. We finally connected and made the appointment (about a month out). 5 days before the scheduled appointment, they text me to let me know that Dr Tokarevs schedule "has changed" and that my original appointment on Monday has been cancelled. No explanation other than his schedule has changed. I think it is close to the worst customer service I have ever experienced in the medical field. If you use Eye Center of North Florida, I would NOT RECOMMEND using Dr Tokarev. I would ask for any of the other doctors and hope it works out. This truthful review is based off of my experience with this business.
