Tom Monaco repaired my refrigerator that was shorting out. He made a big mess in the area he was working and didn't even try to clean it up. My refrigerator is still shorting out. He is not at all knowledgeable about the things he "repairs", he also did a couple more repairs for me and they were all done wrong. I would not recommend this person. He is a liar, a thief, and a scammer. He sent me a picture via text of all the money he had bilked out of customers. What a loser this guy is!!! read more

I was assigned this contractor through Old Republic Home Warranty. Thomas came out and said that my washer needed to be replaced and would send the report to Old Republic within 24 hours. It has now been a week and Thomas with Monaco Installations has not provided a report to Old Republic, nor has he returned any of their calls. I called him directly and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about and he said he lost the report. I would not recommend using Monaco Installations for ANYTHING. I feel Thomas Monaco scammed me and took my payment without providing the report as he was contracted to do. read more

Unprofessional and out of contact. Horrible. Said he had the part, then he didn't, then he was picking it up, then it was ordered... I called two appliance companies and both stocked the item for my washer and BOTH are within 2 miles of my house... you tell me? I despise liars. Complained the whole time and bad talked my washer (I take pride in MY appliances), cussed at them and told me sob stories. Took my $ first... that should have been a huge red flag for me, but since I went through my warranty company, I wasn't sure how it worked. My review is the exact same thing that happened to the others here. I opened a repair claim with home warranty. 15 minutes later tom called me and asked to come by tonight on way home, he also said to have the 100 bucks in cash waiting,no check,no cards, (huge flag). He came and spent honest to god 4 minutes looking at the issue and said he knew what it was and he would submit the report to insurance company tomorrow. well after 3 days, i texted him and asked, whats up? he said he is waiting for the insurance company. As it turned out that was a bold faced lie. The next day still no news so I called the insurance company myself , they said he never submitted a report and tried to call him while I was on the phone, no answer they left a message, next day I called again, they called him once more with me on line, left another voice mail, next day same thing and then again the following day. Also, I was texting and calling him myself, NO REPLY TO ANY OF THESE messages and texts. Finally the warranty company re-assigned the claim to another vendor. That vendor called me that night and I told him what happened, he told me I was his 4th or 5th person to tell him the same story this week alone about monaco. AS nuts as this sounds its true. This guy comes to your home to collect the cash deductible and then he will disappear , I promise you this (look at the reviews). His hustle is to look real quick at the issue, (literally was here 4 minutes) and takes the cash only warranty deductible from us and then friggin disappears. Never sends the report as the contract states needs to be sent in a timely manner (72 hours) and never answers the phone or returns calls because he knows the warranty company will just reassign the claim to someone else to do all the work and waive the homeowners deductable. And what does he care? He makes $100 bucks in 4 minutes and does not have to do any work. That's his game, collect the quick cash, dissapear until the insurance companies re assign the claim to a new vendor and let someone else work. I see the reviews and talked to the new company fixing my issue and this guy does this scam for a living and worse of all, its legal because he can make an excuse as to why it happened. He told me can only play this game with warranty claims because there is a cash paid deductible. and thats his game, collect the cash as fast as he can and disappear. Not satisfied at all. Would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. We have been trying to get a refrigerator repaired in a rental property for almost a month now. They never make an appointment or call ahead they just show up. The first time we called on Thursday. The tech showed up on Sunday morning while the tenant was still in bed and didn't wait for her to get to the door. He had left me a message just a couple of minutes prior to his arrival that he was on his way. I called her as her doorbell was ringing and before she could answer he was driving away. She called him right back and he said he had other appointments and would have to come back 2 days later. He came back a day or two later and said he had to order a part. Over two weeks later he still had not come back and she was now completely without a refrigerator. He told dispatch on Thursday 9/19 that they part just "came in that day but he couldn't come out until Monday 9/23". On Monday no one had called to make an appointment or showed up. Dispatch called him again and he said quote "the part just came in today but I can't get there until Wednesday". Seriously??? I received a call today while I was in a staff meeting saying he was on his way out there now and couldn't reach the tenant to make sure she was there. I called her as soon as I got this message. She said no one had called her even though I provided her information to dispatch multiple times in the last month. Since she was at work and he had NOT made an appointment in advance I asked her to call him to ask him to come when she got off work at 2pm. When she called he told her he had already went by and since she had not been home he couldn't come back until at least Friday or Saturday.....by this time it will have been a month since our first call for service through the warranty company. I work with many vendors and I have to say this is the worst service I've ever encountered. Never has a customer had to wait more than a day for their initial service and certainly not more than a couple of more days if a part had to be ordered. A month for a family with children without a refrigerator is unacceptable. The fact that no appointment is ever made and he simply calls when he is "on his way" is just as unacceptable and unprofessional. I'm very disappointed and dissatisfied. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL & DISHONEST - I was also assigned this contractor through Old Republic for an appliance repair. He never called or showed for our initial appointment, that should have been my first red flag. Said he had car trouble and would call me the following day to reschedule. Fair enough, I gave him the benefit of the doubt at first. He didn't call the next day so I called again and made a new appointment. He showed up, late, collected the service call fee and assessed our appliance repair. Said he'd call it in to Old Republic that evening. Did not call the report in for 2 and a half days and only after Old Republic contacted him to do so.Parts were delivered on a Friday morning, yet he claimed he did not receive them until Monday evening. He was too busy to schedule an appointment that week. Waited another week, made an appointment for Thursday, said he'd call the night before to let me know what time. Never called. Contacted him again and he said he was busy with other calls and would be later in the day before he arrived. Never called. Called him and said he had car trouble again and would call me within a half hour. Guess what? Never called!! Finally got fed up and contacted Old Republic who thankfully have reassigned our work order to someone else. I realize this is a lengthy rant, but I'm hoping to save someone else from going through this nonsense. It is ridiculous that in the 3 and a half weeks I've dealt with this person, not once has he called when he said he would, not once! On the positive side, my experience with Old Republic's customer service has been very good so far. They seem genuinely interested in making this situation right. read more
