Disappointing. The menu described interesting and unusual preparations for food. Left under a heat lamp the food dries out. The filling for seafood enchiladas had little sauce and inadequate seafood filling. The taste was fine Nothing to come back for. Leaving dirty appetizer plates on the tabletop while serving dessert is a lack of training for the wait staff. There were plenty of servers standing around. My family and I went here yesterday June 1st. The service was awful and the people that run out chips and salsa were more attentive than our waiter. We ordered our food at 7:28 according to the rude manager and then it didn't come out till 8:18. The manager refused to give us a discount on the meal after our server mentioned a discount for our wait. The manager also claimed it was only "10 minutes" past the kitchen to table time which was absolutely incorrect and shows her intelligence considering it came out right at 50 minutes. The manager needs to do better. The kitchen to table time is so long because the manager eats all the food in the back... Very disappointed and I nor my family will ever be back. read more

This is the worst "Mexican" food I have ever had. I ordered takeout and got an all vegetarian dish and asked for a "side of pinto beans" the pinto beans had meat in it. As a waitress/host common sense of you see someone ordering an all veggie dish you should warn them that the beans contain meat. Fine, that's one issue the next is the food was terrible. The coleslaw was bitter and disgusting I couldn't eat it. The pico was terrible quality. The tacos tasted cheap and my food was COLD. I would not recommend this place nor would I go back. One of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever eaten in. Not to be missed is the fresh guacamole made at the table. One of us had chicken and cheese quesadilla. I had chicken chimichanga and my husband had Mole poblano. Every dish was delicious and the sides were tasty and unique read more

This atmosphere is inviting by their waiters and waitresses a clean environment, the food is pretty good. The fresh guacamole made at your table an A+. The staff overall very friendly and attentive. I must say I have been here at least 20 times since it opened, The managers could use some better customer service, they never greet you, never come by to see how your food is or your service. As new place I think that makes a difference. They obviously know by now who are the regular's they never thank you for your business, even if they are at the door on your way out. read more

Came here for my hubby's bday and it was his choice. It's Friday night and this place was packed so we figured it must be good, well let me tell you.....it wasn't! I gave it 2 stars cause our waiter Alejandro was great and the drinks are good, but when you go to a restaurant it should be about the food. I can say that hubby's dish was the best and tastiest out of the three, he had the Birria tacos which was the chef's special. I had the veracruzano fish tacos and they were extremely bland and it came with a spoonful of rice, spoonful of slaw and refried beans that seemed watered-down. Our daughter had the beef chimichanga deluxe. She liked the chimichanga, but the rest of the dish was bland and was served some watery tasting guacamole that seemed frozen. So I suggest go for the drinks, atmosphere but not the food unless you order Birria! read more

Takeout food was cold. Chimichurri sauce was mostly oil. Steak was very fatty. I went here once before and was given oily sauce. I asked the waitress if she can give me actual chimichurri sauce and she came back with more oil. read more

Went to Monarca last night, Saturday, 5/14/22, around 10pm for a couple of drinks. Sat down at the bar and met the bartender, Sarah. Very nice! Very accommodating! Ordered 1 margarita and my friend ordered a beer. At about 10:20 my friends wanted to order another round. The bartender was starting to make 1 of the margaritas and was then approached by the manager who preceded to tell her "no more". Therefore we were denied our drinks. I can't understand how when a restaurant advertises they close at 11pm and it wasn't even 10:30 yet they can cut us off! What kind of business is that??!! We were very disappointed! We live right around the corner from your restaurant and have enjoyed coming there since it's opened. We may not be enjoying it anymore! read more

So I have been here twice and both times have had a wonderful meal. The authentic Mexican decor is very inspiring and colorful and makes it a pleasure to dine in either the bar room or the main dinning room. The vibe is uplifting. The staff are friendly and on top of things. They are responsive and ready to make sure you have everything you need just like in Mexico. They are friendly and always smiling. The food is fresh and fantastic. Fresh made to order guacamole table side, and their fresh and delicious Salsa. Warm chips that they readily replace when you run low. The fresh fish is wonderful, all the tacos, and burritos and even the vegetarian dishes are fantastic. I loved my salmon fajitas! All dishes are plentiful and you will certainly have left overs! Prior restaurants in this location were not half as successful. Let's hope they stick around for a while. Sit in the bar room and have a drink while you watch a game on the big bar side TV's or dine with family and friends in the main dinning room. We visited Monarca for first time Sat evening. I would give the food and atmosphere a great rating. The only problem/issue was with the hostess and manager. We put our name in and was told 45 min wait and would text us. We went to the bar and enjoyed the Sangria waiting for friends. The bar was a little loud and unfortunately I did not hear text or phone calls made by hostess. When I did notice, we were told after 15 mins the table is given away. I asked why didnt just walk over to bar and tell us (we were at very beginning of bar in clear sight of entrance). The unpleasant hostess said cannot do that, too busy. The manager also told us it was our fault as we did not respond quickly and nothing she could do. I understand that, however, the bad attitude and lack of social skills especially in a food service venue is unacceptable. I have worked in many restaurants...this is NOT how you treat patrons even if they made the mistake!!!!! read more

So the dollar tacos on Tuesday DO NOT apply when u sit in the bar at the only couple of low top tables in there. Party of 7 requesting a table in the bar for dollar tacos on Tuesday. Order gets taken by our server, then comes back and says we can not honor the dollar tacos bc you're at a low table IN the bar, Only the high tops and bar can get dollar tacos. Manager comes out and says they can't honor it. After 2 drinks each for 7 people, and both hostess and waitress were aware of what we were here for, nothing was done to accommodate us as the customers due to the poor training of the employees (both hostess and waiters who took our order). ALSO the menu states dollar tacos in the bar. Does not specify only the high tables with orange chairs and the bar top not the random 4 in the back. Food comes out and no one knows which taco is what ALL orders were messed up. No idea what is what, Bullshit management, untrained staff, disappointing experience. Been waiting weeks for this place to open , we went opening wknd place was packed So we cut them a lot of slack the service was really slow the food came out cold my favorite chili rellinos I couldn't even eat the cheese was so bitter and drinks are weak. But hey it was opening weekend so they deserve a lot of slack , so we decided to try it again today I must say the food was better the ceviche was excellent and I like their salsa, But again the service lacked the bus person walked past our empty plates three or four times leaving them at the end of the table and the drinks were flavorful but with no alcohol , for $12 A margarita you would expect to taste some tequila but you see them pouring it out of a big bucket.
