Super Rude Lady running the store. I am a foreigner to this Indian Culture/clothing. No one else in the store and was treated like a horrible person for asking questions. Was laughed at by the lady when I asked questions. Was not told prices of items unless I was going to buy it, she would not even give me the price range. Was told where I could look and yelled at if I looked at anything different. Boxes of textiles everywhere but told I could not go thru them, I was looking for a particular color/style. Than when I saw something I loved I was told I could not try it on. A complete nightmare of a women running the store so I left. Horrible Horrible experience. What a shame to have such a rude person running the store. I pray the owner has audio/video in the store to see how customers are treated like garbage. I went to Chhabras a few miles away and bought two outfits there for upcoming events, they had more options, everything has a price and size, two open fitting rooms even though they were busy the guy and his wife would acknowledge me and come find me when they finished with their customers, 100 times better customer service. I visited the store unsure of what to wear. I was quickly helped and shown different outfits currently in fashion. What I ended up picking surprised me! Not at all the style I was intending to wear and it appeared about 3 sizes too big. I was rest assured that their seamstress could work magic and she did! If you need to find guest wedding attire for an Indian wedding this is the place to go. I walked in clueless. The owner was friendly and immediately took to what I needed for 3 events and chose accordingly. He was wise in taking in my height and body shape and pointed, or led, me in the right direction. I am so pleased with the outfits I got. I usually only wear black and I have a turquoise sari (heavy), a coral pink sari and a beautiful purple outfit for the reception! The boutique has so much to choose from, is neat and tidy, and friendly! The prices were good and the materials all feel great! I was wedding dress shopping for my nikkah ceremony taking place in December in the UK. Initially, I was unsuccessful in finding a dress t UK due to my height and size; and sadly was expecting the same result during my two week trip to my hometown, FL. The UK retailers were telling me I needed to wear a saree (which has more material) instead of the traditional bridal lehenga (blouse & skirt). I stopped at one other Indian store before Mona's and they repeated the same thing I heard from the UK stores. Disheartened, I went to Mona's expecting to hear the same story. A women named Kitu (sorry if I misspelled) made me the happiest bride ever! Not only did she have dresses that fit, but she had lehengas that fit as well (I'm about dress size 18). She had the exact look and color I fell in love with in the UK and it fit! I needed a few minor alterations but she assured me it will be okay and ready before I needed to fly back to the UK. Thankfully a day before I had to fly, I went to my fitting and it was perfect. Both my mom and grandma cried. It was such and emotional journey and I'm so happy Monas was carrying larger sizes. She even had bridal jewelry sets which were affordable compared to what you see online and came with a lot more than what's in other stores. I will be wearing my bridal lehenga again when I have my US reception as well. If I could give this place more stars I totally would! read more

The lady helped me design the color blocking for my first Indian wedding and altered a top for me in 10 minutes! We decided color patterns for the earrings and bangles that will complement my dress and shirt perfectly. Lastly, she showed me how to drape my scarf to complete the look. Just purchased an outfit for my very first Indian wedding and an alteration of another dress. I had no idea what I needed, or where to start. I walked in, was greeted promptly and explained my situation. They had me go put on my dress to see how it should be altered and when I game back out, the gentleman had already found something perfect for me to wear at the wedding. The color was gorgeous for me and already fit perfectly. I also walked in expecting to pay and arm and a leg for the quality of what I bought, but no! It was reasonably priced. I went to Mona's Fashions on 4/6 and was treated horribly by the woman who says she was the owner. I would NEVER recommend you go there. I have spent hundreds of dollars there in the past. The owner basically told me she didn't want my business and said I couldn't afford the things there. She was the rudest person I have ever met. I went to another indian store and bought a salwar for $190. DO NOT GO THERE. She keeps the nice outfits in the back and won't show you them if SHE THINKS you can't afford it. Customer Service is key in US..if you cannot understand that, you should not do business here. I agree they have some new variety ( which is not on display but brought out after many requests). But the amount of arrogance is almost a turn off... Telling your customers you are not ready to make a purchase because they are shopping for variety.... You really expect someone to make bridal purchases without asking to see your options ? Try to be polite..this is not India !! Much prefer Chabbra's Fashion which is right around the corner. This has been the best experience that i have had with respect to shopping for deshi clothing of course. The owner was very respectful, personal and efficient. The owner showed us only the things that fit our personality best i dont know how he was able to figure that out but he did. He did not push us to buy things even tho we made him bring out so many different things. he did not get annoyed even though he is the only person working there, funny thing is he offered us drinks since we were there for hours. he personally dropped of my Suit for alterations since i live so far away. I know this place has been open for over 20 years but man does their customer service suck. I'm pretty sure the man there price gauges too. I went in to look for a saree blouse, knowing the current styles and prices I was appalled that he showed me a blouse that was 1. Poorly made 2. Out of fashion 3. Had sequins falling off as I was trying it on and he said it was 55 dollars! I usually buy all my desi wear directly from India but I needed a blouse for a last minute event but I will never go back to this place. The man working was rude and when I asked to see if he had a specific type of jewelry he said no even though I saw a few in the case at the front of the store. By that time I was already pissed off and didn't even want to bother. Also, some of the kundan jewelry inside their jewelry case are listed as 165 dollars and above, please guys do not buy any of the jewelry they are selling... you will be ripped off so badly. The same items are on amazon prime for so much cheaper, I'm talking about more than 60% less of what they are charging. Also, most of the styles they are selling are out of style anyways. Ecstatic I shopped at Mona's! Am headed to a luxurious wedding and reception in New York City next weekend. The wedding is Friday morning and the reception is at Cipriani downtown on Saturday night. It will be over the top. So I have been nervous about what to wear but also excited to maybe wear something Indian without looking like I'm trying too hard. Or worse not pulling it off. I'm not Indian and I don't want any of the guests to look at me if I'm wearing Indian garb and think oddly of me. My wife can't go with me as she's going to another wedding. So if anybody looks at me weirdly I won't even be able to point to her and blame whatever I am wearing on her. I'll be in my own. After discussing the foregoing extensively with a good Indian friend, she sent me to Mona's. My experience at Mona's was awesome!! Go!!!! Kumar immediately understood my dilemma and made me feel comfortable and at home. After showing me about half a dozen options (all of which were awesome) my wife and I fell in love with one. No way to adequately describe it but it's a classy black and gold ornate but understated long jacket which I can wear with my own black pants and Ferragamos. Got lots of compliments from my wife on the choice, fit and price so we bought it. And they'll alter the sleeves by Tuesday. Kumar is very much in touch with current Indian fashion trends as he is also involved in a fashion business in Bombay/Mumbai. So he knew what he was talking about. What I bought is the latest fashion but still a play on the classics. I am now very excited to show up at the festivities feeling completely comfortable with what I'm wearing and I feel like I'm going to get knowing nods of approval from all the right people. And when I do I'll just mouth - "Mona's". After all that shopping my wife and I were craving an Indian buffet lunch so Kumar recommended a place a mile plus east of Mona's that was awesome and very reasonable. Great day!
