I have been coming here since I was a kid. Things have changed and I don't see the owner but the quality of food is the same. Prices went up but that is expected. The sandwiches are big and delicious. The catering trays are very good. You can order with 24 hours of anticipation. I ordered a few trays of guava pastries and meat turnovers. The food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the food from this bakery. They don't have many sweets or cakes available but the pastries they do have are really good. The bread is so delicious. Parking can be a problem so come with patience. Mask is required for entry (Aug. 2022).

If you are visiting PR and are staying in San Juan, I would say this place is worth visiting. It's outside of the tourist zones, but it's one of the best panaderías in San Juan. Sandwiches are good a filling; the croquetas and quesitos are good too. But the star here is the bread. The pan sobao is excellent. Ambiance is very casual. Not a lot of tables. They do have a small outside seating section. Limited parking with no street parking.

This is tied for my favorite panadería. Maybe my favorite. Either way I loved everything about this place. The service was super and the ambiance was cool. Of course the food was amazing. The croquetas and pastelillos were very good. I had the pan con beef steak. It was huge. I could only eat half. The sandwich was delicious. I think it's the best beef steak sandwich I've had. I'll definitely be back.

(Sooo many hombres aquí, no hay "jerks", happy to report!) !

¡CAMPEÓN! ¡¡¡Tenemos GANADOR: MEJOR PAN DE AGUA y PAN SOBAO EN LA ISLA!!! Bien, volvamos a LA COMIDA!!! We Have A WINNER: BEST PAN DE AGUA y PAN SOBAO EN LA ISLA!!! It also wins: "Most MACHO Panadería in Metro San Juan" , their offerings are #1!!! I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE!!! GO!!!

I grew up about a mile away from this place. Let me say I am completely biased and think they bake the best bread in the world. When my mom comes visit from the Island, she usually brings a loaf or two in her purse. Their parking is limited up front, they are open early AM and usually have a line as soon as they open. Do yourself a favor and order a sandwich and some good Puertorican coffee.

    Jose H.

Not fancy bakery, but the bread ( pan sobao ) is the Best in all San Juan and most likely in the Top 3 on the Island. Sandwiches are amazing (size wise and taste). Bakery sweetness like quesitos, pastelillos, croquettes all are good as well. Laurita/Moncho - que Dios les Bendiga!!!!!

The best bread in the area. Their sandwiches are huge! They offer a variety of drinks, but very little sugar free options. Their pastelillos and croquetas are delicious. Coffee is strong, delicious, but strong, so be ready to experience a good cup of puertorican coffee. The sweets are good, and they are pretty big. The bakery also offer wines, cheeses and other selection of liquor. In overall, they are one of the best in the area...

The good thing first- the line goes through fairly quickly considering how busy they were the day I was there, Sunday July 19, 2026, and parking was plentiful. Service was fine, cleanliness was good. The bad. Way overpriced for this region. There are plenty of bakeries in Puerto Rico offering the same things at half the price. The worst. The food quality sucked. Jugo de China Natural usually means squeezed to order. It was squeezed ahead of time and served with ice without being asked. Fresh squeezed orange juice is best served room temp. A good one will still be a little foamy on the top with very low acidity Ham and Cheese on Mayorca Bread- a staple of PR breakfast. Traditionally served pressed with a little powdered sugar on top that caramelizes a little because of the pressing. This one had a ton of floury tasting powdered sugar on the top and bottom of the top and inside the top and bottom of the bread, not normal at all. And for whatever reason, mine was served with the insides of the bread out side but I saw others that weren't served that way. So strange. And the ham was oddly pale. Also, no knives or forks to be found, so the extra sugar was extra confusing Quesitos- I ordered 4 to take out. I should not have. They went straight to the trash. The dough was severely under baked and soggy yet the filling was dry and crumbly without barely any sugar on top to offset the cream cheese. Arroz con Dulce- overly sweet and watery. Also went straight to the trash. Should be a little thicker from the starch of the rice combining with the sweet milk as it cooks. It tasted like they cooked the rice separately and then added cinnamon, evaporated milk and a ton of sugar without heating it. Not even a hint of vanilla to be found. For $44 dollars before tip. It was straight disrespectful to tourists and locals alike. I hope they improve because there is nothing worst than a popular spot resting on the laurels of a good location PS- The Habichuelas Escabeche were good.

Grabbed an iced latte and an iced tea to go: the latte was smooth and well-balanced, not over-roasted like a lot of tourist-zone coffee shops nearby, and the iced tea was refreshing after walking the cobblestone streets. The menu keeps it simple -- espresso drinks, paninis (Cuatro Sombras, Yauco, Viejo San Juan), open toast with avocado & egg or salmon, and a solid breakfast lineup with guava butter toast and dulce de papaya oatmeal that lean into the Puerto Rican flavor profile. Loved seeing local sodas and juices in the fridge case alongside the usual water and La Croix. Staff moved efficiently even with a small crowd at the counter. Good spot to duck into for a quality coffee break in Old San Juan -- feels like a real local roaster rather than a chain, and the space itself is worth a look even if you're just passing through.
