This place was in walking distance of our hotel. We ate here twice for breakfast and we had ordered takeout once for a late night snack. It's got a very diner feel to it. The first time we went, we had a chicken BLT that was on a soft bread that was very good. After it was delivered, we noticed that there was no bacon on it on the way to brought us out a whole bunch of bacon, which is probably a lot more than they would've put on the sandwich. We got tostones on the side and ketchup/ Mayo already mixed together is a big thing here. So we dipped our tostones into that and it was very good. One morning we went for breakfast. My husband got the breakfast tacos. I thought they were a little bland, but the hot sauce kicked it up a notch I had an omelette that had ham, veggies and cheese and I opted for American cheese. That was very good. The late night snack we ordered was on crispy bread and it was a Cuban and the bread tasted like it was four days old. It wasn't crispy. It was hard and not good at all so I would highly recommend staying away from any sandwich that is on crispy bread, or ask him to sub for the regular bread. We also got an orange juice that was fresh squeeze and it was probably the largest orange juice I've ever seen. It was probably about 16 ounces and it was very good.
Diner vibes. Good and swift service. Okay food. Fruit bowl wasn't as much of a delight as I hoped and it definitely wasn't worth $10. My fried egg breakfast was good. My bf said his sandwich was filling. Not cheap enough breakfast for the food served. It's not a place I would actually recommend since there are so many better options in the vicinity.
Went twice on my vacation because the banana bread French toast is AMAZING. I kept thinking about it and I wish I had more to bring home! Also the piña colada I had was perfection. My sister ordered eggs and received a side of coco bread and OMG--maybe the best coco bread I've had in my entire life. YOU MUST TRY IT! RIGHT NOW!
Attentive and friendly service with informative tips about the food choices. We came on a Sunday in November and it was pretty quiet at 6pm due to the rain. I haven't eaten a lot of Puerto Rican food, so this is coming from a newly christened foodie. The food came out quickly and the waiter described the mofongo entree well and also recommended his favorite sauce. The chicken had a nice, grilled flavor and the garlic sauce was savory and smooth. The mofongo had an amazing plantain flavor with a mashed yet nice texture. The steak was good and the rice and beans were also yummy. The food was absolutely delicious and well-priced for the area. It wasn't the cheapest but it was in the average price point for being in the center of Condado area along the Main Street.
Great find down the street from our hotel for a few meals other than our resort. Think diner/comfort food with breakfast being star of the show. From Nutella French toast to omelette's. the food delicious and service is friendly and prompt. We enjoyed a late lunch and a "to go" dinner there also. Highly recommended!
My wife and I were in Puerto Rico and we saw this restaurant on Yelp, just a few feet from our hotel and my wife was out in the rainforest , so I was on my own for the day. I entered the restaurant about 11 and it was PACKED. My great server came by and I ordered a beer and a Cuban, which was 2-1 this day! The Cuban was great size, as I took the second one home for a later meal and the pork was super juicy and just the right amount of pickle and mustard, the must do right portion of the Cuban. I ordered another beer and the people kept coming in! Glad to see such a great place get such good business. Lots of people were coming in for their coffee. Great place for a lunch!
Visited for a work conference but still managed to squeeze in some quality time for a good meal and two of my lovies (baby boy youngest son and hubby) aroma was absolutely delicious. After stumbling through my rusty Spanish, we managed to order a brunch like meal - me: omelette with cheese etc (se llama "tortilla de huevos" en español ) y papas. A bit heavy on the grease. Server was patient thank goodness! The space was simple not fancy but adequate with a great location on strip with numerous other businesses. Worth a try if you're in town.
After landing in San Juan and checking into our hotel, my family and I walked down to Pannes for lunch. We were seated quickly upon arrival near the front door and given our menus. We ordered the sorullos appetizer and the crazy pollo to share. I wish the sandwiches came with more fulfilling side to be honest but potato sticks are the norm so I don't count it against them. The sandwich was nice and the corn based app was a hit with the toddler so pretty decent visit overall!
Our first, and hopefully last, disappointment in Puerto Rico! This restaurant does NOT deserve any compliments or appreciation based on our experience with food and service. No issues with ambience, but ambience alone doesn't make a restaurant good. I have always recognized good food and service at the restaurants I've reviewed but this place is seriously terrible. We ordered two breakfasts with a side of eggs and two coffees. One breakfast was sub-standard (clearly made with hard as a rock sausages and over-fried eggs). The Mallorca sandwich was served without eggs. And they forgot about coffee. When I mentioned (politely) that I had ordered my breakfast with eggs, the server snatched the plate (rudely) and walked away with it. We requested that they cancel the Mallorca sandwich and just give us the check. They brought the plate back without adding "eggs over easy" as ordered. The cashier insisted that we had to pay the whole amount--EVEN IF WE DID NOT EAT. When we insisted that we deserved to get a credit, she said No--and threatened to call the POLICE. Only when I said: "ok, go ahead," they agreed to adjust the bill. This is no way to treat your customers. It's the United States where good food and service are generously rewarded and appreciated, not bad food, wrong order execution, and mistreatment of customers!
I would strongly suggest that you eat somewhere else. It was absolutely disgusting. Ignore the other reviews that suggest that the food is good. If you expect to eat regular food, this is not the place. When my food came out and I asked for the manager, he came to my table and wanted to argue that if I wanted an omelette with the ingredients on the inside, I should've asked for it that way. He also said if I wanted regular coffee, I should've asked for regular coffee. They actually gave me espresso with a lot of milk. Attached is a pic of the bacon pieces they brought.They'd been soaked in grease for awhile. This was a truly horrible experience.
This was our last brunch together and I loved it. It was delicious and I recommend this place. The food was great and the service was amazing. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered fried pork chop chunks and they were delicious and were cooked. I also ordered mamposteao as my side dish. We ordered fresh orange juice and champagne to make mimosas. The place does get filled; we did have to wait for a table. I loved this meal and I would love to go back again.

We went here twice and both times were excellent. The sandwiches are all delicious and filling. Service was friendly and fast. It has an open floor plan/cafeteria vibe but still comfortable. read more
This breakfast spot we tried was decent, but nothing special. The reviews were quite good, which is why we decided to check it out--but the experience didn't fully live up to the hype. The biggest downside was the service--it was very slow. It took about 15 minutes just to place our order, and another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Definitely not a place to go if you're really hungry or in a rush. We ordered a veggie omelette with Swiss cheese and bread--it was okay overall, though the bread was on the sweeter side, which I personally didn't enjoy. My husband had a veggie omelette wrap, which was decent as well. We also got an orange juice, but it wasn't sweet. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but not particularly memorable either. If you don't have many options, it's worth trying--but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. read more
Grabbed lunch at Pannes. The restaurant was clean and well lighted. We were shown to a table in the back. Our server greeted us and said she would be right with us. Although the menu had several tempting items we decided to share the aquacate relleno pollo with plantains. It was just the right size for use to share. The avocado was ripe. The chicken was tender. The sauce had a nice flavor. The plantains had been flattened then fried. We had two sodas. Our bill including tip was $24. read more

This spot was just okay to me. We went for breakfast, but admittedly, I am not a big breakfast fan. I was impressed by the service and efficiency. The server was welcoming. I did think it was strange that if we paid with a credit card, we had to pay at the counter. read more

This was our last brunch together and I loved it. It was delicious and I recommend this place. The food was great and the service was amazing. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Fantastic breakfast spot in San Juan! If you're driving, there's plenty of parking right across the street. For those staying nearby, it's located on a busy street and easy to find. We arrived before 9 AM, and I'm glad we did--the restaurant was quickly filling up as we left. The menu offers a great selection of breakfast options, and I ordered eggs and bacon with a vanilla chai latte, which was delicious. Prices were reasonable and in line with other breakfast spots in the area. Beyond breakfast, they also serve lunch and alcoholic beverages. There's only one bathroom, so keep that in mind, but they do have a nice outdoor patio in the back. If you're into sports or news, there are tons of TVs throughout the restaurant. Highly recommend--especially if you have a sweet tooth, as they offer a wide variety of desserts! read more

Food and service were great, but beware of the bill. I ordered the $15.99 avocado and eggs, and the waiter asked if I wanted cheese. I said sure -- only to find an additional $3 charge for it on the bill. I also ordered a coffee and then another to go, and noticed the first coffee was $1.25 more because they added a small shot-sized cup of milk as "creamer." After the meal, I told the waiter that if there are extra charges for simple add-ons, customers should be informed upfront. Just something to watch out for. The bill situation ruined the entire dining experience. read more
First of all...then customer service was awesome! We absolutely loved our waitress! I hate that I forgot her name but she was great! Our kids are super picky with food but the breakfast here is exactly what they like. I'm so glad we came here. We heard about it in passing from a lady that was bringing her food back into our hotel. She told us that we were going to love it and we did! The twins of course got pancakes...and it took them all of 2 minutes to eat em! I had the French toast, which was delicious and they DO NOT skimp on the bacon!! It was like 3 or 4 pieces altogether. I did however have a problem with how pricey the bowl of fruit was. Other than that...everything was good. They also have an outside area you can sit at. The place was clean and you're in for a real treat should you decide to visit. read more
We were looking for a meal before we left town for the airport and found Pannes. Huge menu. The environment reminds me of a diner. Prices were high but it was tasty and service was quick enough for our needs. I got a frozen coffee and pancakes with fruit and Nutella. And my husband got a sandwich. read more

Second time at Pannes and it's just like I remembered it. Great Passion fruit juice and a cafe con leche, followed by the amazing super bowl scramble. So much food for such a low cost and to top it off the staff treats you like family. Plenty of seating on the inside as it's spacious. 10 out of 10!! read more

We came here on a Thursday morning at around 11 AM the grab brunch. They were busy and we just made it before the noon rush. We only had to wait inside about 5-10 minutes to get seated whereas shortly afterward we saw the line go out the door. The atmosphere reminded me of a cafeteria. They have a lot of items on their online menu and it was hard deciding what to get! We ended up sharing The Hangover which comes with 4 eggs, bacon, ham, French fries and 4 pieces of toast. You can also order from their dinner menu too so we ordered the Spicy Crab Tostones. The Hungry man is really exactly what it is. Just a regular breakfast that will fill you up. The toast is pretty unique though, with butter and a hint of sweetness. The Spicy Crab Tostones was great aside from the fact that it was made with imitation crab meat. Of course the quality was lower, but it still tasted pretty good with seafood and mayo flavor. I also got a iced latte which was really creamy, but the coffee flavor wasn't too strong. I already knew this place was somewhat commercialized just from seeing that they sold all sorts of foods on their menu. It's a good place to fill you up before taking a stroll on the beach but don't expect quality food. read more

This was my second time in San Juan and I HAD to come back to Pannes. We went to 2 wrong places before we figured out the right one it was that serious lol they have THE BEST lattes I've ever had! This time I got the scrambled eggs, bacon, toasts, and a pancake. The eggs weren't shell eggs, and I couldn't stomach them that day. The pancake had a weird consistency and just wasn't all that great. I'd give 3/5 stars for the food but we really just came for the coffee! Our server was great so no complaints there! $150 for 4 for breakfast just didn't seem worth it from a food perspective. read more
***travel edition*** The food is good here. It is not super fancy but you get what you're paying for and they have a good variety. I got "the mess" French toast which is a French toast egg bacon cheese sandwhich. It is huge can easily feed two. The service was really great with the waitress being very helpful kind and attentive. The ambiance is nice it is a large establishment and is well decorated. read more
This restaurant was directly in front of our hotel so lucky us! The restaurant is very clean and the service was top notch! We went for breakfast twice and the mochas. The breakfast sandwich was delicious! The bread was soft and hot, the eggs and bacon were abundance, and the little baby French fries were fun and delicious. The pancake was thin and really didn't have much flavor but the toppings helped with that. Honestly I think that's the point, which I can appreciate. We also came in the evening with a sweet tooth, and the carrot cake was to die for! All in all we loved our experience! Definitely try it! Don't forget to order a mocha! Welcoming to tourists, friendly table service, quality dishes, comfortable atmosphere. We really enjoyed our breakfast here. They also had some extraordinary Puerto Rican pastries at the counter that fueled our road trip. read more
We went in search of some great food to start our day and came across this local busy spot. This was the Perfect place for all things food. I mean the door was ever revolving and it got so crowded people were standing waiting out the door. We were seated and looked at the menu. There was so many different t options from eggs, to pastrami sandwiches to stuffed avocado to mofongo. I was drooling. And checking out the tables around us everyone's dish looked desirable. I said the hell with it and went all in and ordered some spicy sandwich that had meat, caramelized onions, pepper jack cheese, and sweet plaintains. The sandwich was enormous a d I had to share but I regret nothing! If you're ever in PR this is a daily must oh and the coffee was to die for I mean I have to have coffee and this was the place to have it all! read more
From the moment you walk in you're greeted with a warm smile and you're made to feel welcomed. The ambiance is relaxed- they explain that you can either order at the counter for take out or feel free to have a seat and a "mesero/a" (waiter/ waitress) will be right with you. And they certainly were. The service is excellent. I only went in for a simple Cuban coffee and tostada (pressed bread with butter) and they did not disappoint. The bread was fresh and delicious. The coffee hit The Spot- y'all know exactly what I mean! It was too much to eat at one sitting so I ordered a coffee to go and finished it up in the hotel room. Will definitely be back! read more

So many items on menu to choose from that we had to visit it twice during our trip. Everything we tried was good. The sandwiches are huge and the flan de coco was so creamy and delicious. The service was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. read more
