I've had this lower back pain for Months and it even strikes when I'm trying to sleep! I took a week off and it kinda helped, but let me tell you folks- I was at Mondo no more that Ten minutes and Morgan had me working the pain out while explaining what was wrong from the get go! I came to Mondo to recover after an ACL/meniscus repair surgery. I attended during COVID times and the staff kept everything super safe and clean. I never felt worried about being exposed to anything. I worked with Cody as my main therapist and have nothing but great things to say. The entire staff was super nice, learned your name, knew how to fix EVERYTHING that could be wrong with your body, and just made me feel confident that I was going to recover well. As many of you other Yelpers know, I am a workout fanatic. This means I get injured unfortunately. I was referred to Mondo Sports Therapy and I am so far happy with my results. My first appointment I saw Katie Gwyn and she did my assessment. I explained to her my issues with my hamstring, my previous injury of my hamstring (three nasty tears back in 2011), and my current exercise regime. She did multiple tests on me and determined it was a sciatic nerve issue. Boo!! I was disappointed and she explained that it is harder one to treat since it requires time. She did however say it was treatable and started me off with a set of exercise I would do on my own. She also works with me once a week to get my hamstring/nerve issue back into working shape. My last session I had dry needling done and wow that has helped significantly! This place overall is very welcoming and located inside a medical office building. The staff is always pleasant and the patients there always seem to be having a great time while they are in recovery. I have noticed that everyone's physical therapy session is unique and customized to the specific injury. The therapist will work with each patient and teach modifications. When I first came here I thought I was at a gym due to all the equipment and the energy here. I would recommend to athletes and non athletes if you have an injury. Bonus, they take insurance! read more

Josh at Mondo Sports Therapy was recommended to me by my chiropractor when I told her I was not comfortable at one of the larger practices where the therapist splits time between you and another patient the whole time. This is not the case at Mondo; your PT works with you one-to-one for at least a half hour and then sets you up with exercises to do for the second half hour of your session. Josh began ever session by asking me how I felt and doing a quick assessment, which I really appreciated. When it came time to do the exercises, Albina was always on hand to set up whatever equipment I needed and cleaned the materials up very quickly after setting me up on the next task. She also encouraged me when tasks were more challenging and celebrated when I was able to accomplish something I had not been able to do before. I could not have imagined when I began going to Mondo that Josh would help me in so many ways; the initial concern was recovery from extensive foot surgery. Josh treated both of my feet as the physical therapy I had received overseas in a third world country was not as extensive as it should have been when I had surgical on my other foot previously. After I gained enough mobility and strength in my feet, Josh was ale to address some chronic problems in my hips, sciatic nerve, and lower back, as my chiropractor prescribed. He also recommended a hand surgeon when I fell and hurt my right pinky finger. His thoroughness and extensive knowledge of the muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems saved me. Josh was always patient with my endless questions and when I struggled with form on an exercise. I am moving now to another state and was looking to understand the best way to work on my surgical scar once I leave here. Yes, Mondo took my insurance and this was a godsend; once my insurance lapsed, I opted to pay for one last session with Josh out of pocket and it was well worth it. Monica, who works the front desk, was always helpful when I was scheduling or rescheduling my appointments. When I was first starting, she emailed me forms to fill out ahead of time and facilitated getting my surgical records sent over to Mondo. I am hopeful that I will find physical therapists as amazing as Josh when I relocate. read more

My review of Mondo is mixed. The good: I think the staff is highly competent and had good ideas in working with patients to fix physical issues. I think their knowledge is definitely up there and on that I was very pleased. They definitely helped with my back issues. The bad: they often ignore you for either cell phones and texting or other people receiving therapy or joking around with other staff. With the other patients, it feels crowded in there and they're trying to serve too many people at once. A lot of things they asked me to do might challenging, but you end up spending extra time just waiting and waiting for your person to come back over to you to show you. And even then, it's for a minute and they walk back over to other people or constantly joking around with other staff. I never had one session where I felt I had their full attention. My final session there a week ago was the worst by far. The person I was working with was on their phone texting the entire time and I spent half my time trying to get their or another staffs attention. What's even worse is no follow up, no asking how I felt at the end, just "you're done", no one even there to see about booking a future session. I think when getting therapy I'd like more 1:1 attention for the full hour so I've switched back to Airrosti. read more

There aren't nearly enough stars on yelp to do this review any justice. Over the course of a 13-year competitive running career I've dealt with my fair share of injuries, each one incredibly frustrating in its own right, but I've never felt more peace of mind, even when a little banged up, than I have when I am working with the folks at Mondo. I've also never been consistently healthier than when working with them. It's rare to find health professionals who can give you an answer and a plan, while also making you feel immediately better physically. From surgery rehab to basic aches and pains I wouldn't recommend another physical therapist. The wear and tear of 100 mile weeks year in and year out is incredibly high but they always got me to the starting line healthy and strong and for that I'm forever grateful. You won't find more qualified PTs anywhere else in Austin, and you'd be lucky to find one as qualified elsewhere in the country. read more

I became a patient at Mondo Sports Therapy after failing to improve with the information my doctor had given me and I am SO glad that I started going there! The staff is very knowledgeable, they were able to explain my injury and the reasons they believe that my injury developed in the first place (which my doctor never addressed!) and gave me lots of hope that I can return to normal. The atmosphere in their space was so fun, it is obvious that they are very passionate about what they do. I definitely recommend them if you are struggling to manage an injury. read more

Love love love Mondo! Josh is amazing. I had surgery for a nerve entrapment in my foot but was having trouble bearing weight post op. Josh caught what my extremely amazing surgeon missed- a cuboid subluxation- and after Josh adjusted it, I was walking pretty much immediately. I still have to gain strength and flexibility but the day after not being able to bear weight at all, I walked around until 2 pm at which point it was clear I needed to rest it for the remainder of the day. If you are having a nerve entrapment issue, see Josh immediately. Had I been referred to him by one of the first three docs that misdiagnosed me, I may not have needed the surgery. Invest in treatment early and good luck with your rehab! PS- Thanks to Josh I will walk down the aisle in 4 weeks! Please tell him a very happy bride referred you. :) read more

I highly recommend these amazing therapists. I had accepted constant pain in my neck and shoulder as part of the aging process but then a car accident worsened my symptoms and caused me to look for a PT. I'm so glad I went to Mondo Sports Therapy. Pieter, Katie and Josh are very knowledgeable and helped me work through the pain and restricted movement in my neck and shoulder with a combination of manual therapy, dry needling and exercises. I should have gone to see them sooner! This is not a dull, mechanical, by rote, PT office, it is a vibrant and energetic open area, conversations and energy flow while you are working with your PT. I found the atmosphere to be invigorating and the staff are dedicated and knowledgeable. read more

I love Mondo Sports Therapy! I had seen a physical therapist and a podiatrist for a pain in my heel that had been getting worse and worse as the months passed. The treatments recommended by both only seemed to exacerbate the pain. It had gotten to the point that just walking was painful, it hurt to kick a soccer ball around with my son, and working out caused so much pain afterwards I was avoiding it all together. Everything seemed to flared up the pain in my heel. Then, someone recommended I give Mondo Sports Therapy a try. I am so glad I did! Steffan is the PT that worked with me. He is amazing - professional, extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind and passionate about PT. After assessing my foot he took the time to show me in an anatomy book what was causing my pain. I felt some physical relief after the very first visit. After 5 visits I am able to get back to working out, running, kicking soccer balls, etc. I am so grateful for their practice. read more

The therapists are attentive and this isn't the typical physical therapy office mill where a therapist works on two or three people at the same time. I had a great surgeon but my recovery would absolutely not have been as successful without the wonderful professionals at Mondo. Katie, Peter, Cody and everyone there love what they do and it shows. They truly want to get you back doing the things you enjoy and most important, get you out of pain. They even showed me how to use crutches properly (which is not as intuitive as you'd expect!). I have been meaning to write this review since January! I owe Katie, Pieter and Josh so much more than a 'thank you' or a 5 star Yelp review. At 3 weeks postpartum and with the blessing of my doctor, I started 'running' and at 4 weeks, I started regularly going to Mondo. There were so many changes that I never expected, so many aches and pains, joints shifting, weaknesses. I was a MESS! From day one, Katie, Pieter and Josh took such good care of me. Without them, I would not have been able to train as hard or as soon as I did. And it wasn't just me, some days, I would come in with my daughter and someone always found the time to hold her so that I could be worked on. Above and beyond doesn't even begin to articulate it. I ran a marathon at 7 months PP and was able to PR by 19 minutes. I owe a big chunk of those minutes to Mondo. They kept me healthy and made me strong despite every obstacle we faced. They were patient and gentle with my healing body. They described every thing they were doing so that I could understand how my biomechanics worked and look out for future problems. And even now, almost a year PP, I still see them to stay tuned up during my heavy training loads. There isn't anyone else in town I'd trust with my legs. read more

I went to Mondo Sports Therapy after getting diagnosed with a stress fracture. They helped me rehab my injury and work on strengthening weak areas so I don't get hurt again. Katie and Pieter work as a team to both treat the symptoms and find a long term solution. They are friendly and easy going. They are leaders in the field and constantly looking for innovative solutions and mentoring upcoming physical therapists. Unlike most PT's I've been to, Katie is certified in dry needling which really helped with calf pain for me. They also have an Alter-G treadmill which allowed me to run at a lower body weight and build my fitness back without putting too much stress on lower legs. I would recommend Mondo Sports to anyone looking for quality physical therapists. read more
