Bagel (born 2 bagel) & pastries (butchertown bakery) selection 11/2025
    Katie B.

Lovely and quaint little coffee spot and market in the Douglas Loop. Went on a Saturday morning around 930. There are 3 tables and a couch to sit if you buy a coffee and/or food and want to indulge there. Baristas made great coffee (a cortado and a latte) and were friendly. There was a steady flow of customers throughout the morning. They have a variety of market items to purchase: pastries, bagels, breads, vegetables, cheese and cheese spreads, meats, etc.

A super quaint and cute coffee shop on Douglass loop! There was a variety of coffee and bagels from butchertown grocery. I'll definitely come back here!

Overrated. Doesn't really have an identity but the coffee is ok and it has random refrigerated things from the market

It's right across from the fire station (kids love fire trucks), in the church parking lot. Dogs aren't allowed so bring a friend to hold her while you shop. You can eat your breakfast together at one of the tables right there at the church outside of the Farmers Market. Parking is available on the street or across the street at another church. It's a great place to hangout for a bit, let the kids explore, eats farm fresh, literally, breakfast, get some great goodies for the week, and RELAX (it's the weekend). This Farmers Market is large enough to give you everything you need or want, and small enough to walk around and still keep an eye on your kids or quickly find a friend to compare your treasures. I love the breakfast omelet, the music is always good and sometimes really, really good. And the people are always friendly and fun. I walk there, but it is worth the drive, and then you can walk around a bit!

Sitting outside of St. Francis of Assisi Church on Bardstown Road on Sundays from 10 am to 12:30…read morepm, this farmer's market is one of the few Sunday farmers markets in town--and the only one in the highlands area. It runs from July through September and is part of a program that gives refugees agricultural opportunities in Kentucky. Super awesome! I went here for the first time this morning and was surprised and impressed at the variety of food. Lots of different types of tomatoes, squash, greens, onions, potatoes and more. Heads up: it's all veggies, so it's not a one stop shop. My favorite thing: since this market features vegetables from just one farmer, I didn't have the price/produce quality comparison that happens at other markets where I end up buying potatoes from one vendor and greens from another. Nope, all my purchases went to support one farmer and it was a nice relief not to have to pick through all the stands selling tomatoes to figure out which one to buy from. All of her food is locally grown (her farm is somewhere off of 264) and chemical-free, yay! Oh also, I hadn't seen purple tomatillos at any other markets recently and they were recommended by everyone hanging around so I grabbed several for a salsa. I love seeing out of the ordinary crops, so I couldn't resist. Plus, I'm a sucker for a recommendation.

I have attended this Farmers market and found they have a great selection of produce, but there are less vendors then Deer Park. Great thing is that these are all a couple blocks from each other and they are open Sunday's. Yay for Farm to Table!

I am a regular customer of this business and love every single product I have purchased here! No exaggerations at all, seriously! Sally is always so helpful and kind, as well as the owners too. I love supporting small local businesses. My regular purchases include: * Garlic Infused Olive Oil (I cannot have garlic, and this is allowable on my food plan...plus it's delicious and makes everything tastes so much better than plain olive oil, in my opinion anyway). * Denissimo Balsamic Vinegar (this is a super rich, decadent and aged vinegar, and so worth the cost as it's a premium product). *Honey Ginger White Balsamic Vinegar (I love Ginger and Honey and this flavor is true to a perfect combination on the two). *Lemongrass-Mint White Balsamic Vinegar (if you like Lemongrass you will love this too!) *Montgomery Cherry Rosé Balsamic Vinegar (this is another of my favorites, it's sweet and tart and lovely!). *Sicilian Lemon White Balsamic Vinegar (I absolutely love love love lemons and this is another favorite). *Lemon Stuffed Manzanilla Olives from Spain (TO DIE FOR!!!!) *Orange Stuffed Manzanilla Olives from Spain (equally delicious and the lemon stuffed olives, they are sweeter and I enjoy them regularly, but I do favor the lemon ones more). *Tarragon White Balsamic Vinegar (if you like Tarragon then this is for you, it cod very strong and not much is needed to add this savory flavor to any dish it might complement). I think one of my favorite things about visiting this establishment is that they are always so friendly, you can sample any oil or vinegar you'd like, and they provide suggestions to cater towards your palate. The ambiance in the store on Brownsboro Rd was haute cuisine, and once they get the new location on Bardstown Rd completely set up, I am confident it will be the same also. If you love to cook and require quality ingredients, go visit them, you will not be disappointed!

THIS IS HOW BREAKFAST IS DONE!…read more I'm always looking for the local flavor that stands out among the crowd and Breakfast AF (cool name btw), really held true to their brand. Situated an easy drive from downtown, and part of the Schnitzeltown are of Louisville, this apparently was a legacy deli counter back in the heyday and the original corner Hauck's deli sign is still visible. The expansion seems to include a few bars, a pizza joint, breakfast joint, and a revised deli with a smoker actively going at the end of the complex. And it is complex... we sat out front on the patio of the breakfast joint since we had the pup with us, but had I known how large the rear patio was, we would've chosen to sit back there away from the road traffic. I the menu is straightforward... the fare is on the higher side of breakfast pricing, but the portions are enormous and I easily made two meals off my sandwich and home fries. Speaking of which... get it... wich... okay fine. I chose the fried chicken/bacon/egg sandwich on Texas toast and it was... substantial. I added home fries, but honestly, the sandwich was a meal on and of itself. The two succulent chicken tenders exploded with flavor of a distinctive savoriness and that flavor peaked when I dipped them in maple syrup (they have a dispenser next to the coffee pots). The egg and bacon were perfectly cooked, complemented each other well, and the buttery toast just pulled it all together. My wife chose the shrimp-n-grits and that was just a flavor bomb with every bite. Savory grits with the slightly sweet shrimp, topped with smoked pork belly, and drizzled with a chili crisp oil that simply overwhelmed the tastebuds with every bite. It's a line order with pagers, so place your order, grab a table, and the coffee/water is self serve over across from order pickup. The back patio is open air, expansive, and spans the entirety of the multi space front buildings. There's even a soft surface children's playground behind the new deli. I was just absolutely astounded and definitely want to make it back to try their lunch fare next time I'm in town!
