Off all the responses we received from potential cleaning services, Dodge the Job seemed most in-line with what we were looking for, so we booked them to come clean two carpets and a large rug. Dodge the Job was prompt, courteous, and professional. They sent me information about what they needed before sending an invoice, they communicated with me leading up to the cleaning day, and, once on site, they explained to me the process they were going through (including how long they would take to clean, how long we'd need to wait until they dried, and what could help accelerate this process). Although the previous owner said he'd had the place cleaned before the final walk-through, Dodge the Job immediately knew that the previous owner had a dog just based on the condition of the environment. They did a good job cleaning the carpet and the rug (which had flood stains from our previous apartment) looked almost new. If I ever need our place cleaned, I'll definitely be contacting Dodge the Job (and be recommending them to folks in Maryland & DC).

At approx 4:20pm I received a call that was "hi, we're on our way" and it cut out and I received no response back. Nothing for 30 mins, so I called back to find out that they were on their way and that it would only be another 20 mins. 1 hr goes by after that (it's 2 hrs past the scheduled time), the response I got was "we were coming from Ellicott city, we are on the other side of hyattsville, another 20 mins, sorry its all due to traffic). So after arriving 2 hrs late - 2 of the crew memebers came up - spent 20 mins chatting - and then 1.5 hrs cleaning... at this point its about 730pm-8pm on a Friday and our dinner plans have been 100% ruined. Its not the amount of time it took to clean, it was showing up two hours late. MORE SO it is important to point out that they lied to me on the timing - Ellicott city is 26 miles from where we live, so how were you planning to get there in 20 mins?!?! Even without rush hour traffic? I called the 800 number on Nov. 3 and it was clear that it wasn't an office but some manner of call service that plugged me in with another individual. The gentleman was pleasant enough and said that a tech would call me before EOD. I received a TEXT from Abi, not a call, at 6:08 pm. I never had someone text me instructions about a potential home visit before but, as I'm desperate for repairs, I went with it despite my reluctance. I asked in the text to have the tech please share their license and credentials. I don't know these people. I just needed to know who I'm letting into my home. I received a call from a gentleman I assumed to be the owner or operator who took umbrage at me asking for the credentials of the tech, and proceeded to call it "weird" (that is the word he used) that I'd ask since, and I quote, "all we're doing is an estimate." I don't care if you were building the Ark of the Covenant divined by God himself, I am not letting someone in my home without knowing fully who they are. Call it paranoia, call it weird as that person did, but they can take that attitude and go the other way. I'll find someone else.
