I stored with this family uber Papa Lockers DBA years ago for many years and i honestly can tell you this: they literally saved me time an time and time again. Many times my stuff could have been auctioned but instead they worked with me they helped me figure out a plan and get back on track they locked me out when i really feel behind but they never sold my stuff and they could have. I was honest with them about every single up and down with my health and lay off. Was truthful and they did more than they ever needed to help me not loose the last remaining part of my normal life before all of the bad began that made it hard to keep up on my bill . Eventually I was able to get my bill right and move my things out and I hope I never forget . They're kindness gave me so much more than I can explain in just a Yelp . During 4 years of renting with a small storage facility, Chain Lake Storage, in Monroe, WA, my rental rate was only increased 2 x's at a fair, reasonable amount. The staff there were very accessible and super great people to work with. Glacier West advertises a lower rate on line to lure customers in then seems to employ a bait and switch scam, it appears to me, to up rates months later. I think 1 year or more to increase rates 5% max is fair and reasonable to deal with inflation. Not 10.9% 6 months into leasing.

I wasn't made aware of the well known rat infestation until I showed up in person. I was told nearby units were supposedly not being offered due to 'tenants storing food' and a rat problem. All of our things were covered in rat droppings. A lot of which were items for our young kids. The property knew of the issue and didn't call to share the info. We're lucky to have come to empty it as it might've just gotten worst. The onsite manager is very nice, and was always helpful - and he did the best he could for me. He deserves a 5 star rating. Unless of course he decided not to inform us before I showed up - then a zero. I had flown up from AZ and was loading our 10x20 unit into a uhaul with a reservation that night in Oregon (1/3 of the way back to AZ). A lot of logistics as you can imagine. I didn't have the option of getting this matter handled correctly and I was told again and again that the owner would reach out - but that, we also didn't have insurance! YIKES. Didn't know I needed to protect myself from RATS!! This was back in February of this year 2022 and I've yet to hear a peep. This made for an absolutely awful move in experience to our new home. We had to stage everything in the garage in steps to clean and not bring toxic rat piss and shit into our new home. Thanks Public Storage. Massive, massive fail on this property's side in many ways. Huge F. Maybe, look elsewhere? And ask how they're protecting you from this. Hope you have better luck.

I have had a storage unit in this facility since 1997. I recently emptied my unit the end of this past summer and was pleasantly surprised when I saw that there was hardly any dust, not one spider web or any mouse poop inside my unit. Everything inside of my unit was perfect, like I had just put it all there yesterday. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a storage unit. They have a very secure yard and their manager Theresa is just the best!! Thank you so much for taking such good care of my things. You gave me total peace of mind all these years. I had signed up for auto pay, but they didn't charge me as agreed. I complained about this, and was emailed a contract very clearly NOT signed by me. Then they lied and said I didn't sign in person, which I did, of course, because it was very close to my home. Then the person who I spoke with said I was calling her assistant a liar. I didn't say, or think her charming assistant was a liar. I thought that SHE was liar. Bottom line, she was an incompetent person who lies and blames others when caught out. If confronted over this, she responds by bullying. She threatened to evict me if I dared to write this review on Yelp! This is NOT a person you want to deal with, in order to avoid future trouble. My unit itself is on the third floor. The elevator is in very bad condition, and actually locked me and my moving crew inside it. We had to push the emergency button to get special instructions to get out of the elevator! You also need a code to leave their yard, or you are locked into their yard! There is NO call button for that situation if you are locked into their yard. The assistant had failed to tell me I needed a code, so I had to wait for another lessee to leave in order to escape. It was winter, at night and it was cold. So, they trapped me twice. I had sold my home and moved away, so I am threatened to have to come back to Smokey Point, find and pay to move my possessions yet again, if I am evicted over this dispute, so I guess they trapped me three times. I am 73 years old, and disabled, so I cannot do it myself. I live on a fixed income, too. Don't put yourself into the situation I am in. Avoid Cascade NW Self Storage.

I have rented a 10' x 30' unit for the last 6 years and although the rent price did increase periodically while it was Anchor Storage, it never jumped up in price like it recently has since being acquired by Iron Guard. Rent went up 80$ per month on my unit! NOTHING has been done to improve the facility. Gates are chincy and act like they don't want to open up all the way, turns and corners are so tight that it is extremely difficult to maneuver a moving truck or truck pulling a trailer. This is why the corners and sides of their units are all scraped up with paint from vehicles, storage units have openings in the roof line and my belongings are so covered in dirt and dust that has blown in and settled (and this storage facility is surrounded by industrial area, dirt parking lots for semi trucks and road construction so you can imagine how much dirt is flying around outside in the area). Also, and this is NASTY, so many of my belongings are covered in absolute filth from mice. Piss stains, poop droppings, mattresses and pillows that were in bags have been chewed into and left with holes. I went to the office at 9:30a this morning (they open at 9:00a). Open sign was turned off and door was locked. 9:00a opening time was posted on their window. I went to my car and tried calling the number for Iron Guard and their automated message told me to stay on the line and someone would be right with me. It played that message over and over for 10 minutes while I waited for them to answer their phone. They never did and they also never opened up their office during that time. I had gone there this morning to give my vacate notice. Guess I will have to waste my time again tomorrow. This makes me even more anxious to terminate my business with them. I do not recommend this storage facility at all. They are greedy and don't do anything to improve their grounds and units. Maybe new ownership will bring some needed changes but so far in the last 6 months I haven't noticed anything except for new signs that say Iron Guard Storage and the biggest increase in rent price that I have ever seen at a storage unit. Also, 172nd is a traffic nightmare and getting in and out of this place can be frustrating to say the least. With the Amazon building and tons of other construction in the area, it will only get worse.

Although I…read morehaven't received an increase in rent like my family and friends I have been moved to a different unit nearly every year to downsize slowly and I was shocked to discover just a couple blocks down the road a unit the same as mine is $100 cheaper! I helped someone move out of Smokey point self storage to a 5x10 down the road and the online deal on rent is 1/2 off 3 months of the monthly $75 rate. A friend of mine has a unit that size at Smokey point and pays $152. Now I was told that these increases in rent were due to surrounding storage facilities increasing their rates and that they were just keeping up with the rest however this is so very untrue. I would immeadiatly pack up and move down the road if it didn't require so much additional equipment rental for the types of items I have but I'm very much weighing out the pros and cons carefully because when everything else is costing so much places that skyrocket their rates for the sake of "let's see what we can get away with" needn't have our business.
