Since Franciscan Health took over my doctor's practice there have been errors in getting refills,…read moretakes me months to get an appointment with my doctor ( they act like an HMO, I can get a quick appointment with whoever they set up, just not the doctor I have used for years) and it has taken 5 weeks to get a test to see if I have lung cancer, pneumonia or whatever that that is causing me to not be able to breath. I don't call that health care. My out of pocket has also doubled since the hospital changed the ownership structure with my doctor.

Husband admitted Friday afternoon through ER for stroke workup beyond CT scans. ER listened and…read moreexamined him carefully. While ER doctor was with us, clearing him to be admitted, the pharmacy person came in and I gave the three page printed from Franciscan MyChart list of his meds, dosing and frequency. It was also given to ambulance people and the ER nurse when he arrived. It was handed back after input to computer in the exam room. Up on the floor they had no orders for any of his heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, neurological or pain meds. He went without for forty-eight hours. Abruptly. No dietary restrictions. No doctor saw him at all Saturday according to the nurse. He got an MRI Saturday morning. No test results were shared with him until Sunday morning and what the doctor said did not match the MRI results on patient portal. Doctor said discharge and no followup advice or referrals or meds change. Hours later he was not to be discharged. He walked to the bathroom and back, nurse aid was there and told the nurse he did fine. OT cleared him and was sure PT would clear for discharge which was part of discharge procedure. Then a couple hours later, nurse says they are moving him to another floor for days of PT with no explanation. Nurse had a lot of trouble understanding English too. Sad, very sad, no one walked him for two days, no one followed up on med needs, no one provided a CPAP after request Friday night, until requested and insisted late Saturday night. They said his blood pressure was a little high. No joke. Take away his heart meds and note his blood pressure. There is even more, but we will never go to St Francis ER -hospital ever again. The fire department does better than the hospital. The guy standing on the corner begging would do better.
