Went here for my daughter. She had an injury at a park to her lady parts. She needed to be stitched up. The first time she was sewn up in the ER and it didn't hold. Dr. Valenzuela was wonderful. My daughter was absolutely terrified but she was calm with her. After a formal surgery, results have been successful. She had to go in with smaller sutures and redo the ER fix. After waiting 2 1/2 months to get into see Dr. Valenzuela they ended rescheduling me a few days before my appt appointment to later in the week. Ok at this point I've waited so long what's a few more days. I came to see her regarding my hormones. She has terrible bed side manner. Her questions were in a rude tone and advised me in a rude tone as well. So I responded back the same way. I didn't expect to feel like an idiot by just getting hormone replacement. I get a Dr needs to advise but you don't have to be rude in doing it. I left upset and will continue elsewhere with my hormone therapy. I do not recommend this doctor at all! She cares more about money than her patients! This was my first time seeing her and I made an appointment for a specific reason, which the office staff knew. The day prior I was required to submit a medical questionnaire/health history. On the day of my appointment I arrived and paid my $60 co-pay and after a very short wait was called into the office. Shortly after, Dr. Valenzuela came in and immediately told me that due to a prior condition I had she could not treat me. I asked why she even had me come in and was I going to get my $60 back, and of course she said, no. Why have me come in if you know my health history and cannot treat me?! I literally spent $60 to walk into her office and walk out in less than a minute, not to mention the additional money she's going to get for billing my insurance for an unnecessary visit! Also, just my take on her, but she did not seem warm or friendly at all, seemed like she has a horrible bedside manner!! Pick someone else, there are many other good doctors out there! read more

I just love her! I've been seeing her for the 7 years I've lived in California and if it weren't for the speculum it would be like hanging out with a friend. She genuinely cares about her patients. She always asks about my daughter and remembers all the little tidbits - both medical and non-medical - that I tell her. I never feel rushed; she takes her time and is very thorough. In fact, she's begun to use a scribe so that we can speak directly. She's not looking at a screen the way some doctors do while I wonder if they're listening. I realize we're doctor and patient but it truly feels like a relationship. And given the type of medical care a gynecologist provides that's what I'm looking for. read more

Dr. Valenzuela delivered my daughter in Feb. 2011 via C-Section. She wasn't my doctor throughout my pregnancy, but I was a week past my due date when I went in (my regular doctor was on vacation by this time) and saw Dr. V. She was very sympathetic to the fact that I didn't want to be induced, but explained that this late in my pregnancy, it was necessary and made an appointment for me early the next morning at the hospital. She was very gentle in her delivery of this disappointing news. I was induced early the next morning, but it took 39 hours for me to get to a point that allowed me to start pushing. I did, for almost 2 hours - nothing. She asked the nurses to leave the room, pulled up a chair, and explained to me, my husband, and my mom that the baby's heart was not responding well to the pushing, and that after spending so much time in labor, they needed to get her out. She was almost in tears when she told me she was taking me in to c-section, but was all business less than 10 minutes later when I was taken into surgery and she delivered my daughter. I was in the hospital for 4 days after my surgery, one additional day due to a persistent fever. Over the course of that time, she spent a great deal of time with me, and was completely supportive of my desire to be out of bed and on the road to "normal" as soon as possible. 2 years later, my scar is almost completely invisible. I've been back to see her 4 or 5 times since my daughter's birth for follow-up and normal girl stuff and she is always so personable, caring, and easy to talk to. She's given me great advice regarding the implications my emergency c-section will have on future pregnancies and deliveries. I genuinely consider her a friend and recommend her very highly! read more

Dr. Valenzuela has been my Ob-gyn since 2007. From my first visit with her, I felt like she was my friend, not just my doctor. I fell in love with her immediately! I would have asked her to hang out with me and my friends for happy hour, but It may have been a little weird!!! I had a very high risk pregnancy with my fourth child in 2012. I was told I needed to deliver via C-section at 36 weeks. She was honest about the risks to both baby and I. I was obviously terrified, but my husband and I knew we couldn't be in better hands. She delivered our healthy baby boy with no complications for me or my baby. If you are looking for an Ob-gyn, look no further, you have found the best! read more

Looking for a new OB. Went to care for women's back in 2014 when I was pregnant with my first because of all the great reviews on Monica Valenzuela. Only seen her twice. Once during an appointment and after my daughter was born (Feb. 2015). And I have to say, the last time was rather crappy. She wasn't there during my c-section yet came into my room after the 2nd day as said, "well you're well enough to walk to the restroom, I think you can go home!" I got up to use the restroom because the nurses took out my catheter and said they'd come back to help me use the restroom and never did (after about 3.5 hours). Dr Valenzuela has given me my life back...seriously. If you struggle with Postmenopausal systems she is the doctor to talk with to get relief. I was depressed, had to take hormone replacements for over 30 years, dry, vaginal thin skin, sex painful, and a disease caused bu low immune system. Other doctors told me I would have to live with it, just my age? It isn't true she will help you. I had three treatments and my systems have cleared, even from the desease I was told there was no cure for, just use this cream and live with it. I called this morning to schedule an appointment with Dr. Valenzuela as I am three weeks along. I was disappointed to find that I would have to be seen by a rotating group of specialists and that one of them would be assigned to my delivery depending on who is available. I thought it odd that I would not be able to choose my regular OB or the one who would be delivering my baby. To this I said no matter and informed the receptionist that I plan to deliver with a midwife. I was then told that I could not become a patient if my plan is not to deliver with them. Now that I found odd, especially in consideration of the cyclical approach to OB care they're currently implementing. I hope this is the only place that implements such strange rules. read more

When I had a procedure scheduled, the scheduler called and explained to me what would and would not be covered by insurance. The wait time is not long in the office; however, since she's so fantastic she books up quickly. This is such a horrible place to go to! I was a first time patient there as this is my first pregnancy . I even had an appointment. I had to wait for over half an hour before being called in. While in the waiting room, more and more patients were walking in (a total of 6 within 10 minutes). I figured there must be more than one doctor working there. Why else would they schedule so many appointments within the same time frame? Right? WRONG! Well, when they FINALLY did call me in, they had an intern take my blood pressure and give me instructions to do a simple urine sample. Unfortunately, she was so soft spoken that neither myself or my husband could hear her. We thought she was talking to herself at first. I had to ask her to repeat herself twice because she was barely audible. (She seemed like a very sweet girl though). After that, I was walked to my exam room where Dr. Monica Valenzuela came in shortly. She quickly introduced herself and asked me if I had anything that may be a concern. I mentioned the nausea/morning sickness. She asked me if the other place (being the fertility dcotor that helped us get pregnant) had given us a due date. I told her that they did not and she seems annoyed with this because now she had to refer to a chart to calculate my due date (which took 10 seconds to do). She proceeded to do a pap smear and a finger insertion to feel my uterine lining. I had no idea what she was doing. When her fingers were already in me, I squirmed a little and asked what she was doing. I wish she would have walked me through each process of the exam rather than it coming as a suprise since this is my first pregnancy! When she went to do the ultrasound, I tried to shift a little so that I could see the monitor. She turned it away from me and told me that she is going to take a look at everything first before showing me anything. Once she got to see our baby, she somewhat turned the monitor towards me. Since the lights were on in the room and there was a glare on the screen, I shifted a little to better see my little baby. She seemed irritated by that and said, 'You can't move otherwise I cannot get a view of the baby". It was up for about thirtys seconds and done. She quickly tore off a picture of the ultrasound which was not even torn off correctly cutting part of the ONE picture we had of our baby. Not once did she explain what we were looking at. She did not even bother to tell us the size of our little one or the heart rate. I had to ask. It seemed like every time I asked her something, she was annoyed like she did not have the time to answer my questions. Towards the end she looked down at the machine and said, "I thought it printed. Oh well." I have no idea what she was refering to (maybe more pictures of our little one?) But seriously - OH WELL? That was the end of our exam. How I wished we could have heard our little baby's heart beat but she did not even try or ask us. We were in there for less than 10 minutes! I was told by many that the first visit is the most detailed and lengthiest as they usually go over medical history and gather info from you. Mine was anything but! If you are looking for a fast food OB, this is the place. Dr. Valenzuela was cold and impersonal. How this woman is a new mom herself blows my mind! You would think she would want to offer the kind of care she would have wanted herself. Maybe cold and impersonal is what she desried - who knows! This office was more concerned about quantity of patients instead of quality. I walked out of that visit in tears not knowing much about my little baby or what to expect (what tests needs to be done, what to expect at the next visit, etc) The staff was not very knowledgable either. I should have figured that when the day before a message was left with the staff leaving a half completed message and then yawning loudly then hanging up. The only good thing about this place is that the waiitng area looked clean. What was supposed to be an exciting visit for us to learn about our little baby was just horrible and left me an emotional wreck! I love Dr. Valenzuela-Gamm, she is one of the best doctors I've ever had. She is very informative, professional, personable, and always in good spirit! The reason I didn't give it a 5 star is only because the office is not the best in returning calls. But other than that, I recommend her for all the women out here who is looking for a great OBGYN! I've had surgery with her too and she had made the experience the best one you could possible have. There is also Dr. Vu who is another doctor in this office, she's also another great doctor at this office. They used to have an office in Fontana, but now they moved to Chino. No sense of urgency after explaining prior medical history to Doctor. I Would not come back after first visit

I am sooo frustrated with this office. They have NO respect for patients or their time! It seems the doctors do not want to see the patients, instead they pass them off to the P.A. Each year when I call to schedule my annual exam they tell me the doctor's first available appointment is two months out, but I could see the P.A. in two weeks. I saw the P.A. many times. Then last year I said I would like to see the doctor I'll plan ahead and wait the two months. The day before my appointment I got a call from the doctor's office explaining she was "on-call" the next day and would not be able to see me, I would have to reschedule. The doctor's next available appointment is two months out, but she could work me in in one month since they inconvenienced me or I could see the P.A. in two weeks. Are you kidding? You cancel on me the day before and expect me to wait another month. I wanted to move on to another doctor right then, but it was December. I knew I was quite busy with the holidays wasn't sure if I could get in as a new patient at another office. So I waited another month. Since she was "working me in" there wasn't any flexibility in the appointment time. I had to take time off work to go to my appointment. When I got there I waited for probably an hour before they told me the doctor wasn't even there. She apparently was in surgery and was due back "anytime". After another hour, they said I could continue to wait or see the P.A.! At this point it was months after my scheduled time and I had already committed hours in this day so I saw the P.A. and told myself I would not come back the following year. Well that year flew by and I didn't look into getting another doctor, so I thought I would give them another chance and I called for my appointment with the doctor. It was scheduled for today. I had to leave work early to get there. I realized I was running a little behind schedule, so I called while in route to tell them I would be about 10 minutes late. They said no problem...see you soon. A few minutes later a different person called me back to reschedule my appointment since I missed it. I explained I hadn't missed it, that I was two minutes away, and that I had already called in to explain as much. She said I could not be seen today, that their office policy allows only a ten minute grace period. I briefly shared with her my frustrations about their office how they treat their patients. She didn't seem to care. I told her rescheduling will not be necessary, because I have no intention to return to that office. Her response was okay I'll make a note of it. So apparently, they don't want or need me as a patient. If I am one minute pass their grace period they have no time for me. I inconvenienced them by eleven minutes and they found that unacceptable when they have inconvenienced me for hours, days, months!! If you respect your time at all, know that this office will have no respect for you. Honestly, I think the doctor is probably ok if you could ever see her; however that doesn't seem possible. I strongly urge you to find another office now. read more

I have never written a Yelp review before but because of the negative reviews I read prior to my visit I feel compelled to give an account of my visit. Today was my first visit with Dr. Valenzuela and she and her staff were amazing. When I called to make my appointment I was greeted by a very nice young lady who took my information and emailed all the necessary forms needed for a new patient so I could fill them out prior to my visit. I arrived for my visit 15 minutes early and the office was beautiful and relaxing. I was greeted, signed in, and turned in my paperwork. I was taken back 5 minutes before my appointment time and put in a room, 2 minutes later Dr. Valenzuela came in. She took her time and really talked to me and thoroughly explained everything we talked about. I can't express what a nice experience it was. I find it hard to believe that this is the same place that someone would rate 1 star, if I could give Dr. Valenzuela and her staff 10 stars I would. read more

as I was going through prenatal visits I wasn't comfortable everytime I went my apt was with a different doctor so I felt like I had to repeat my self ,my condition,my test results everytime I went, but when it was time to deliver dr venenzuela do was on call that day and let me tell u she was awesome !!!!
