There was a long wait to get an appointment, and the staff wasn't the most professional or friendly. It was hard to even reach someone. I waited for my appointment, and ended up having to call in to reschedule. When I called to reschedule my upcoming appointment, the receptionist had 'no record' of my appointment. I guess they didn't successfully schedule it or mark it down. This was discouraging and disheartening, but we went ahead and rescheduled and I waited the long wait to the next appointment. When it was almost to my appointment day, the office called me to let me know that I could no longer be a patient there because I was a 'no call, no show.' Without speaking with me, they cancelled the long awaited appointment (at this point it had been almost three months just trying to get in to see Dr. Niran). I called in to try to clear up the misunderstanding. Explaining that I wasn't a no call, no show. Perhaps the office staff didn't see the originally scheduled appointment, but it was somehow successfully scheduled somewhere--and then when I didn't show up for the appointment (they said they didn't even have on their books), I was marked a no call no show? I'm not sure what happened on their end, but I am very responsible and communicative. Whenever I do need to reschedule, I call in advance. The receptionist just went on to lecture me about why the policy is important. I'm like "I agree, but I didn't not call and just not show up and you said I didn't even have an appointment. How could I even be absent for an appointment that, the last time I called in, you told me you didn't have scheduled. They are all over the place over there, and I was losing patience. They said in about a week they could get back with me about if I would be able to be seen as a patient. I told them there really must've been some sort of mistake. I did not earn the 'no call, no show' punishment. They called today saying that we would not be able to be seen because I 'missed an appointment.' There was no understanding or hearing me that it was a clerical error on their office's part and I got falsely accused and kicked out for their mistake. I'm just trying to take care of my daughter. I've already waited three months to see Dr. Niran Al-Agba. Now I guess I have to start from scratch. My child is now going to be due for her 15 month appointment. 've completely missed the milestone 12 month exam. I waited and waited for my Silverdale Pediatrics' appointment, nervous about her going without a check-up for months. Now I'll probably have to wait again to have her seen by another new Doctor elsewhere. They could've at least kicked us out right after the supposed no call no show, rather than making me wait a month just to tell me days before my long-awaited appointment. I waited all that time for nothing. So unfair. This is not right/unethical treatment of a patient who needs care and her mother who is responsible and communicative.

But I'm glad things turned out the way they did, because for one, all the other doctors were female, and for another, Dr Tomberg is pretty awesome. I got scheduled in relatively quickly (I had to wait on the order of three months back with my PCP in the Bay Area), within about a month of when I called, and the wait for the doc wasn't too horrible either when physical day came around. Sociable and friendly doc who didn't seem to be rushing through patients, and took the time to answer the numerous questions I had. I also appreciated that he took extra steps to see if he could do anything about things like my occasional heartburn, and even humored me with my request to get weighed (being in a wheelchair, I haven't gotten weighed in about eight years, but he actually lifted me up onto a scale to weigh me - major points for doing that).

My husband went to Dr. Strafford for a "rotator cuff" surgery. So, less than a month after the first surgery- he had his second. When my husband was in the recovery room- post operation- I went to see him him, and he was crying! I asked him what was wrong. He told me that the doctor said that this second operation was a "failure" also! He was also worried that he wouldn't be able to do his job anymore. ( He used to have a cabinet shop). Seeing my husband so upset made me cry too. It was very stressful! So then Dr. Strafford came out to talk to me in the waiting room. He asked me if my husband could do "design" work now. ( He knew my husband's job required heavy lifting). He went to physical therapy, and then developed a bad wound that bled profusely. This was where his sutures were. We go to see Dr. Stratford. He sends us to an "Infectious Disease" specialist! This freaked us both out. We go to him, and he tells my husband he has a bad staff infection. He also puts him on strong antibiotics for 28 days. Now, it is eight months later. My husband still doesn't have full use of the arm that is on the shoulder side of the two "failed" surgeries. Nor can he lift any weight at certain angles. These two "failed" surgeries have been a nightmare for us!

I was a patient at Olympic Internal Medicine for approximately 12 years. During that time, I was…read moregenerally very happy with the care I received. Unfortunately, my experience over the last few years changed my opinion of the practice. A few years ago, the clinic switched to a membership model that required patients to pay approximately $300 per year just to remain a patient. That decision created a major issue with my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, which would no longer work with the clinic under that arrangement. As a result, I was forced to change my health insurance just so I could continue seeing my primary care physician after more than a decade as a patient. Even after paying the annual membership fee, I only saw my doctor once or twice a year for routine checkups. Paying hundreds of dollars every year simply for the privilege of remaining a patient never made sense to me. The final straw was how my billing was handled. The clinic stopped collecting my approximately $40 copay at the time of each visit and instead mailed me a bill afterward. I admit that I should have paid those bills when I received them. That's on me. However, according to the letter I received from the clinic, they had become frustrated that they had to call me to collect payment for these balances. From my perspective, it was confusing because these were small balances that could have easily been collected while I was standing at the front desk, as many medical offices routinely do. It seems like collecting the copay during the visit would have been easier and less expensive than mailing statements and making collection calls. I'm not sure why this became such a significant issue when it could have been avoided by simply collecting the payment at check-in or check-out. Instead of working with me to resolve the issue after 12 years as a loyal patient, the clinic chose to terminate our relationship. That was extremely disappointing. I have since learned that the practice was sold. Looking back, the move to a mandatory membership model felt like the practice became more focused on revenue than on maintaining long-term relationships with established patients. Whether or not that was the intention, that's certainly how it felt as someone who had been a loyal patient for over a decade. I hope other patients carefully consider whether paying an annual membership fee is worthwhile, especially if they only need routine preventive care. I also hope Washington continues to monitor concierge-style medical practices to ensure they remain transparent and patient-focused. After 12 years, I expected better communication, more flexibility, and a greater appreciation for patient loyalty.

After a terrible experience at another facility I called UW for a reference and Doctor Gross was recommended. After a year as a patient they abruptly changed their policies. As explained in phone call I got 2 weeks before my blood work appointment. Now on top of copay out of pocket there is a yearly charge of $250 broken into monthly payments. And I was almost 3 months behind and would need to pay up to date to be seen. Never received paperwork, email etc. My insurance did not cover office visits as Dr Gross was out of network so I had to pay $200+ out of pocket.... Now add on $250. I can't afford it so asked for a reference, (just like I got from UW) the office called and said there are no primary care providers available in the area. I will go elsewhere as they obviously don't need me I needed them.

He has been in practice for over 35 years, and he practices with Drs Clinic of Poulsbo. He is Family Practice. Reasons why I like him are many but here are some: 1. He diagnosed a rare infection I had when I first came to him. Other Drs I had fired when they couldn't figure out why I was so sick missed that I had a rare amoebic infection. He also diagnosed a difficult diagnosis that needed surgery that many er drs and a GI specialist missed. 2. When I was very sick over the Christmas Holidays he called me to see how I was doing on Christmas Morning. (He was also on vacation). 3. This Dr. listens to his patients. He is also a very kind and spiritual man. *You may have to wait longer in the waiting room with him, because he takes the time to listen to a patient when a patient needs it. I don't know if Dr. Kina is taking on new patients anymore but if he is, he is the kind of Dr. to have if you have a problem others drs cannot figure out. Or if you just need a great Dr. who listens to his patients and relates well to them, he is a great Dr. to have on your side.
