And I wasn't wrong about Melissa Harwood's attitude on my first and only visit. Don't bother with this clinic! And to add they fancy themselves somewhat concierge Drs by which you pay a yearly fee to join. Also, she works only 3 days a week and one of those days is usually a half day. My old family doctor in Illinois worked 5 days a week, was a mother of a newborn, and a toddler, managed (somehow) to fit an appointment with my elderly father within 24 hours and visit him when he would have to be hospitalized...and if she couldn't do it her partner would cover...who was also an awesome doc, now that I think about it. Needless to say we are looking for a new doctor that can help us when an emergency arises. It has been a rough two weeks and my wife urgently needs some attention.

When I have needed an appointment at the last minute, it is rare that they can't fit me in withing a day or 2. Also, being a "self-pay" patient, I find her to be very affordable for my general health care. I have had a few issues concerning billing and communication but they have always been addressed promptly and politely. It may be a medical practice but I understand that it is also a business and there will occasionally be employees who are not as polite or possess great customer service skills. A polite letter or email directly to Dr. Fiala citing these concerns has always resulted in a positive response. If you are in the West Seattle area and are looking for a caring doctor in your neighborhood so you can avoid the frustration of I-5 traffic, give Dr. Fiala a call.

I tried talking with her about vaccines and she kept talking over me, giving me basic scripted information, and basically scoffed at me when I showed my concern. We are absolutely another brick in the wall at this establishment, and I'll be on the look out for a more compassionate facility.

Fewer MD doctors are here than when Barbra Malich ran the place. Many good drs are long gone. You cannot call the front desk of your clinic, your call gets diverted to a que that is a long wait. The calls are answered in Bremerton even for clinics far away from Bremerton. So the staff that used to know you and whatever situation they are dealing with at their site cannot be the ones determining the patient flow. It is literally out of their hands. The best receptionists are gone.... Long waits to see a dr. No one helps you to get referrals made. The great receptionist teams they once had are replaced by a phone bank situation of sorts centralized into one location. And a computer takes the first call. Most of the medical care is given by PAs and ARNPs now. There is no choice. The two drs in Port Orchard atm are too arrogant and closed to listen to patients even if the complaints or of new or worsening conditions, especially if their cases are complex and serious and require more careful monitoring. Visits are limited to just one complaint, and less than 5 minutes. The doctors do not listen or examine patients throughly enough it seems to me and I am not the only patient reporting this. The reputation of PCHS has declined because of the way things are run on the medical side at PCHS. I will say the dental services are much better than the.medical services PCHS offers. I am leaving the medical part, because I have found a much better doctor elsewhere that truly cares about and addresses my complicated case needs. I feel unsafe being a medical patient here with this doctor as my pcp. My life feels jeopardized by her lack of action. All this is my observations as a patient who regrets choosing to try PCHS medical services once again.

Tanya Spoon's staff are totally nice and once, when I went in with a hearing loss a couple of years to make an appointment, I was initially told it might be a week or two. However, another doctor in her office came out and took me right in In less than 15 minutes, my hearing was fully restored. I had a wax build-up, and he squirted some saline in there, and presto. I was ready to go. It is a hard-working team of doctors caring for their patients you do not get anywhere else. Rather that currently where most don't even look you in the eye and their answer is to push drugs. None of them want you to get well anymore. None of them feel they need to keep you happy. They could care less. They get paid if you come or not. This clinic is everything medicine used to be and more. I was hesitant for years because I paid for health insurance. Now I'm in the parking lot, take a deep breath and walked into the lobby. Greeted by a doctor and then I was told to check in which took a minute. The wonderful nurse informed me to go down the hallway for further directions. The new nurse showed me to a room or the injection room which I entered. 10 seconds later it was all over. Only thing left was to get my sticker and wait 15 minutes and then Adiós Amigo! The folks at KAISER have the system down and that's much appreciated not only for me but the nervous people all lined up. KAISER since taking over for Group Health have really stepped up the game for health care in Washington. I've been very satisfied with my health care over last several years. Thanks Kaiser!
