First time trying monkey subs and it's super good! They have Good pricing , they made my sandwich fast, didn't wait long, the workers here are super nice & friendly! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a new spot to try!

Used to go to the original location frequently when I worked nearby and loved the fresh subs. I think I've only has the monkey wrench- why mess with perfection? The sandwich here was on par flavor wise and was really good. The only difference was the bread. Wasn't bad, just wasn't what I remembered and was a little narrower if that makes sense. Staff was friendly and the sandwich came out quickly. Good job!

Found this shop on Yelp and decided to give it a try when in town. Coming from the sandwich culture and quality of the east coast, my expectations weren't particularly high. Nevertheless, I was delightfully surprised by their sandwiches. I had the Italian meats sub, a meatball, and a pastrami sub. The bread was soft and chewy. Tasty. I liked the fact that the pastrami was hand-sliced, on site. Good subs in an area with few good options.

Monkey's Subs is definitely geared towards meat eaters. I am a vegetarian and found only one possible option for me on their menu. I understand that most sub sandwiches are made with meat but how about an egg salad option or a veggie patty option? The veggie sub I ordered was tasty but consisted mostly of shredded lettuce and sliced tomatoes. The cheese was paper thin and the fresh avocado was mashed. Since the cheese and avocado are the stars of this sandwich, when they fail the entire sandwich is disappointing. Sliced avocado and more cheese slices would have been much better. The oil and vinegar dressing was tasty and made the sandwich nice and juicy. I also ordered their potato salad which tasted exactly like the packaged one from Safeway. It's good but definitely not homemade. There are many options for meat eaters and those subs may be much better than the veggie one. I placed my order online for delivery. It arrived promptly and was well packaged.

This sub shop isn't monkeying around when it comes to sandwiches. They like subs. They want you to like subs. So, they make subs you'll like. Exhibit A: The 12-inch Monkey Wrench It's just over a $1.00 an inch at $12.50, so, this is no $5 footlong; however, it's also better than Subway ... AND ... comes with the magnificent 7 of meats: Ham, Turkey, Mortadella, Cotta Salami, Pepperoni, Salami, and Roast Beef ... guarded by the three musketeers of cheeses: Provolone, Swiss, and Cheddar. It was not only a filling lunch that I couldn't finish, but 6" was a pretty great dinner, too. Monkey's Subs meaty/cheesy sandwich threw a proverbial monkey wrench in my diet ... and I was pretty happy about it.

My daughter and I enjoyed the Dakota as well with the regular and garlic butter and of course we got Marionberry cinnamon rolls to go and I love that you have the option between frosted and unfrosted. The icing on the cake for visit was my daughter got a leprechaun coloring page and was told she can color it and bring it back to trade for a giant cookie and have it displayed in the shop! What a wonderful way to engage the kiddos. Thank you so much for that fun surprise! I always knew about this little bread making factory, but now I finally get what the hype is all about. Here's a few little reasons as to what makes this place "Great!" * Parking Situation * It's next to a Safeway, so plenty of spaces for parking. People come and go, so front row parking is usually obtainable. * Dining Expectations * First of all, they're a tiny shop, and there's only one long stand-up table against the window. So basically, no 'sit-down' dining. If you're grabbing lunch, you can also expect a lunch line due to its popularity. Sometimes the line can be out the door. * The Harvest Offerings * What impressed me most, was walking in with a warm welcome from the staff, and being offered a slice of bread to sample. They even offer some of their buttery spreads you can spread on it too. And it happens with every visit! Here's a few sandwiches I've tried: ~ Classic Turkey (1/2 sandwich, $6) made with their garlic cheddar bread. A simple sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, slices of turkey, mayo, and Tillamook cheddar. It's that soft bread that made it all so yummy. ~ Tuna Salad Sandwich (whole, $10), and I gotta say their tuna ain't so bad either. Not heavy on the dill flavor, but flavorful and filling enough. I had this on their wheat bread, and I'd say they make a tasty whole wheat! ~ Other favorites I've tried, their Club sando with Turkey slices and bacon. And their BLTA with avocado of course. Both are just yummy classics. Yes, I'd say their offerings are basic sandwiches, but really you gotta experience this place just because of the bread alone. They do have a display case full of pastries like their breakfast bun with egg, two types of cinnamon rolls, two types of bread pudding, brownies, scones, muffins, and various types of cookies. Look behind you and they've got a shelf with 'Day old cookies' that are still sweet to eat! But in closing, come here for the samples, come here for the sandos, come here for the pastries! What more can you ask for? (Well, I did ask if they can toast the bread for my sando, but they said they cannot. I get it. Just thought I'd ask lol).

If you visit you will find a very large selection of sweet and savory single-serving rolls-treats, sandwiches, and drinks. And they have thin- or thick-sliced loaves of Japanese white bread. It is very popular with families, eat-in, and takeaway. Families love to allow wide-eyed children to pick among options. They have a hygienic system of clean tongs and trays for your selection. The takeaway goes in nice boxes, honoring the tradition of Japanese packaging. I would have to say, I am still trying to figure out how to use Japanese loaf bread, in contrast to Italian or French bread. I grew up in a family of whole wheat bread. When I toast the thin-sliced Japanese bread, the inside is not done. So I'm experimenting with a short microwave after toasting. I'm also looking at what to put on Japanese bread toast. The staff is customer-oriented, parking is vast and they are near the Tualatin Parks and Rec facility to burn calories before or after. Unique, friendly, community, cool.

It has been open for less than a year at their only Oregon location here at Hillsboro. On our last day in Portland, my wife, her mom, and I stopped in for fried chicken on our way to the airport. We were all jolly when we left. I've really come to appreciate the consistency of Jollibee's chicken fried chicken. Unlike some of their competitor's, where the chicken breading might be coming off because it has been sitting under a heat lamp too long, their chickenjoy breading is crispy and their meat juicy. All of us had already eaten breakfast at the hotel we had been staying at, so weren't particularly hungry. Thus, just got a 3 pc Cjoy combo meal ($18.49, no tax) with 3 pieces of spicy, dark meat chicken (2 drums, one thigh), a biscuit (fluffy and tasty), two sides (mash potatoes and fries) and fountain drink. It also comes with a cup of brown gravy, meant to be used as dip for the fried chicken. Brown gravy with fried chicken has become something I seek out now. The fries are very similar to McDonald's and the mashed potatoes to KFC. In both cases, that is a good thing. I got a pager and it went off about 10 minutes afterwards, so got up to bring the chicken back. They have a self serve soda fountain. It is expensive though for a fast food chain, with no value-type menu available yet. Fil-Ams are loyal to this chain, and seem to be OK with the slightly higher price. It will be interesting if they ever choose to expand, what they would do to draw in non-Filipinos.
