Bodega is sooooo overwhelming. They got literally everything in this tiny little store. All the chips, drinks and snacks you could want. I wasn't quite sure how to act with all the options. The sandwiches is allegedly what you need to go for. They are good not great. A little bready. They don't do the trick where they pull out some of the bread from the inside to fit more meat/veggies. I've been wanting to come here for the longest and have finally made my way to try Bodega PDX. Trying to find a chopped cheese replica that I had in New York has been very tough in the city. The bodega vibe was definitely there. The people making our food and taking our orders were pretty dope. They were pretty fast with the food and even cracked a few jokes along the way. The chopped cheese was great, but a little too salty for my liking. It's probably the closest thing I've had in Portland to a chopped cheese. I came here for lunch one day and had one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Located on Foster, this shop has been one that I've driven by hundreds of times but never stopped in, and after trying it, I wish I came by sooner. Bodega is both a sandwich shop as well as a small convenience store/deli, where you can buy other packaged goods and drinks. I got two sandwiches and both were HUGE. You're definitely getting your moneys worth. I got the Johnny Sacks with sourdough bread while my friend got the Chopped Cheese with parmesan bread. I've tried both and while the Johnny Sacks was delicious, next time I would love to get the Chopped Cheese (WITH the parmesan bread!). In the end, both of us could only eat half as the portions were huge (but it was even more delicious toasted in an airfryer as leftovers!). This is definitely a favorite in Portland. read more

These boys are the reason you do support local: Three brothers who own a sandwich shop themed around the Sopranos, but who are raised in Oregon. A fantastic bar with carefully crafted recommendations around cider and craft beer. Queer friendly, but who cares they're friendly to everybody. Edit: This is a a family affair. Fun little stop for some quick yummy food or any convenience items. I of course had to come here for the famous pickle sandwich and it did not disappoint. Love the fast and friendly service. I made it back to try another sandwich on the menu. The Carmela was my 2nd choice on my first visit. It was beautiful upon opening! For bread, I went with the Parmesan, but I wish I hadn't. The sandwich was pretty salty, like a muffuletta in a way, but the Parmesan added more saltiness in my opinion. The flavors were almost overwhelming like good salt & vinegar chips, leaving my mouth a little raw or dehydrated. I still enjoyed it! The peppers are delicious on any sandwich it seems. I'll try another sandwich. I did notice on this visit that many items in the aisles don't have prices and that was bothersome. Bodega is a MUST for sandwich lovers. I live in NE but whenever we are in SE, this is one of our stops. Highly recommend the Bada Bing Club, which is my go to. My husband switches his to try the menu and this time, we tried the chopped cheese. When I tell you it blew my mind. Basically like a cheeseburger on sandwich bread. I made him give me half of his and he got half of my bada bing. Not a bad deal at all. The place is a convenient store and has other sides from the menu. The tiramisu is another great grab, along with whatever drink you are feeling. Since the cashier is also the sandwich maker, wait times take a while so be sure to order ahead online. Side note, we also had them cater for our set up crew of friends that helped with decor for our wedding and it was a hit! I think I had a roast beef sandwich that had peppers, added avocado, some garlic mayo sauce or something that made my taste buds do backflips. This was a sandwich I didn't want to end. I've been going to Bodega for years and love it. I usually get the Adriana. And love to walk around to grab a drink and chips. I've been driving past this brightly colored spot for ages and today was the day I desperately needed a solid sando to slay a well-earned hangover. The fella behind the counter was helpful and after we ordered, he encouraged us to walk around. Tons of beverage options and a grab n go case full of sides to pair with your Sammich. There isn't much for seating besides a picnic table out front and is very no frills but you clearly go for the food. Fluffy bread, flavorful, huge and doesn't skimp on meat. Fantastic variety of unique goods and sandwiches! The chopped cheese sandwich (think taco meat on a hoagie with sandwich toppings and condiments) is my teenagers new favorite. It's basically a burger Sandwhich. I paired it with some ghost pepper chips and an agua fresca. The cannolis were the best I've had in Pdx. I usually make them myself because my Italian hubby doesn't like the ones we've tried as much. These were spot one. The filling, the pistachios and heath bar toppings put it over the top for us.
