WOW! I heard great things about this place but still didn't have high expectations. Made an appointment for a passport renewal. Young woman provided tons of great information, scheduled my appointment and couldn't have been more helpful. It got better once i got there. Receptionist was patient and helpful. Not just to me but other people at her desk. The experience was efficient and very quick. In and out in about 15-20 minutes including pictures. Would highly recommend. read more

The place is amazing. A government office that has friendly people that want to help. An appointment isn't needed but if you do get one you are served ahead of those that don't. Also when you make the appointment they will tell you everything you need so you don't have to come back again like I did. Such things as your birth certificate has to have the raised stamp and your parents name on it. Sometimes in the past a hospital birth certificate wasn't an official document that can be used for passports. Also download the right form or get the form in advance from this office or post office. On the phone they will tell you the right form number. Having it pre filled out will make the visit lightening fast. You also have to pay with a check or money order. No credit cards for passports applications. Only for passport pictures. Saturdays are very busy so try to avoid unless you have an appointment and a pre filled out form. On a side note the older guard who was hanging outside looked amazing and was easy on the eyes. My next visit he wasn't there. I hope he didn't leave the place. read more

When you think Government Bureaucracy you don't think 5 stars. We needed to get a passport for our little one and this was one of the few places you don't need an appointment for on Saturday. This isn't a post office, which I think automatically makes it better. We walked in and in 20 minutes or so we were out of there. Now, we had the application already filled out which obviously helps. But, the things we missed they walked us through. Everyone was more than friendly, courteous and quick. All things you don't get at the Post Office with things like a passport. Now, I don't need another passport for quite some time, but if you do, this is the place to go! They do charge a $25 processing fee, but totally worth it. read more

The way you'd like your government to work: I went to the Monmouth Connection to get a county veterans ID card. I walked into a nicely furnished office facility and was promptly greeted. I provided the needed documents to the staff person and in under 10 minutes I had the finished ID and original documents in my hands. As an unexpected bonus, a few days later I received, by mail, a notice from the Monmouth Country Clerks office with an additional copy of my DD214 and notice that the document had been registered by the county clerk. Exceptional / Awesome facility - awesome place for passport services. This is a walk in facility so no need to schedule an appointment, plus they are open late on certain days to accommodate folks who work late. They walk through your application, review all your documentation, take your photo ($10 fee for photos at the time of this review) and proceed to file the paperwork - overall they make it so super easy for you that I would never even think of venturing to another facility or service. The staff was so nice and friendly compared to standard passport service agencies that we were a bit taken back with their professionalism and friendliness - really put our minds at ease. Other great features of this place is tons of free parking that they a have little play area for for children, desktop computer access for free, waiting area and spacious clean restrooms - all things you will not find at a standard passport facility ( beautifully designed and very clean ). Also note that the $25 passport processing fee is standard fee from The State Department (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/requirements/fees.html) - the fee is not an additional fee as was mentioned in a previous post. The other great perk of location is Jersey Shores Outlet mall / Restaurant Depot and a few decent spots to eat (Ruby Tuesday, Arby, Brick House Tavern ) across the street - so plenty to see / do afterwards. Overall would HIGHLY recommend - will not be disappointed. Recommendations for Facility : Money Order Service - The only thing that they do not do ( and I hope they seriously consider adding this in the future ) is that they do not have money order services -- that is the only drawback ( be sure to have your money orders ready before you walk in ). The nearest money order location is Walgreens or Walmart ( which are both next to the facility ) - would recommend going to Walgreens for money order because Walmart lines are going to be longer then the time it takes to review your passport. read more

I WISH 0 stars was an option. I AM MISSING OUT ON A $3,000 VACATION BECAUSE OF THE INCOMPETENCE OF THE WORKERS IN THIS PLACE!!! I went to Monmouth County Connection six weeks ago to renew my expired passport and to take a new passport photo with my boyfriend who was filling out a new passport application. We were helped throughout the entire process and to my knowledge THOUGHT everything was handled and submitted correctly but I was WRONG. My boyfriend received his passport quicker than six weeks (2 weeks to be exact and this usually happens when applying for a passport for the first time) but had still not heard back about my renewal until today, almost six weeks later (I leave in six days for vacation). I received a letter in the mail that my paper work was incorrectly filled out and that I need to fill out the proper form that they had mailed back to me. I was confused so I went to Monmouth County Connections right away. I approached the woman in an understanding matter until she LIED to me and told me that the state automatically would have sent me a ten year passport in 2016 when my five year passport had expired (THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN AND WAS TOLD ON THE PHONE BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE THAT IS NOT A THING!!). She also lied and told me that I should have known to fill out a different form and said that I never sat down at a desk and was helped through my renewal application because by the law they are not allowed to touch that form... but the woman did sit and "check" my application, soooo.... I thought the point of going to a place like this was so they fill out the paperwork with you and walk you through the applications????? I asked to speak to someone higher up and she said there is no one. I was then instructed to call the major U.S. passport facilities in both Philly and NYC to make an in person appointment to have my passport complete right then and there but there are NO appointment until May 6. I have now wasted $3,000 on a wasted vacation and $110 on a useless passport I will now never receive until I complete a NEW application process which is what I was SUPPOSED to complete to begin with. Go to the freehold boro passport facility in the clerk's office! They are super helpful and professionally trained! read more

I can't believe how easy it was to get new passports for my kids (both under 16). We were greeted when we walked in, asked to take a seat for a few minutes (less than 5), snd then Kim efficiently went through the process. Dionis Angel I live in Howell New Jersey. I called to get some information in regards to my nephew who is a Marine away in Afghanistan and wants a passport for when he gets back. I was answered by a female who refused to giver her name and she made some very disturbing comments that were so unprofessional that I would absolutely never give '''COUNTY CONNECTION'' my business again. She was very condescending and made a statement that ''oh he is away in Afghanistan and needs a passport?? My brother is in the military and they issue him a passport . or something like that. She wouldn't answer any of my questions. I asked for her name and she wouldn't give it to me and then hung up on me. I called right back and a different lady answered the phone and wouldn't give me the last girls name that hung up on me so I asked to speak to a supervisor. a short time later I was transferred to a lady by the name 'Anna who god forbid I called her Ann and she corrected me with no its Anna. I proceeded to tell her I wanted to make a complaint about the customer service rep who hung up on me and was nasty and I also wanted her name. She made a comment that she didn't know who it was and its a large office or something like that. I stated OK I can see that you are protecting your coworker and wont give me the name and wont take the complaint. I got no where so I ended the call. '''Anna''' now who lied to my face about she didn't know who it was because I have been there and it is a very small office which is open and you can clearly see and hear who it was from anywhere that you would be in the location. How I know this was I was there last year getting 6 of us our passports. Now just for the record, I am a family of 6 and I brought my whole family there to get our passports for a trip to Dominican republic. I will never go there and give them my business again.
